"One of the best hotel in Tromso! Location is fantastic. With the bridge next door, you get to take a leisurely stroll across to the Cathedral and beyond. Nearby the hotel, there’s the harbour and many other quaint local cafes that served amazing cakes. Explore the city by foot. In the hotel, you have everything that you need including the gym! There’s a rooftop bar and open space for you to take in the u obstructed view of the surroundings and harbour. You can even book an ‘Igloo’ for your drinks and dinner! The breakfast is amazing with a very good selection from meats to cereals and cheeses. Finally, i had an overcharge and the front desk was quick to respond and promised to refund. Kudos."

The bathtub has what looks like years of yellow staining, showerhead from the 80s, hairdryer would struggle drying writing on paper. The fact there were no photos anywhere of the bathroom means they know exactly what I'm on about. Would not stay again purely because of it."

"I cannot say enough good things about this place. We were in Tromsø for over a week, and this was the perfect home base for us. The rooms are clean, neatly appointed, and exactly what you want. The lighting is really well done, very important during the polar night. The beds are incredibly comfortable. I am still dreaming about the water pressure in the shower. We were able to do laundry, which was great since our luggage was delayed. We had a six year old, so being able to cook our own meals with the kitchen allowed us to easily feed her and saved us money. It's also helpful because with jet lag, you may be hungry at 4am. There is a coffee machine in the lobby accessible 24/7, which was great. The heating is well-done, and the windows open for fresh air. We found that the photos we saw online are very representative of what we found when we arrived in terms of the rooms, etc, except that it was actually a little cozier (the lighting is nice and warm white). The wifi was consistent and strong. There are TV's, which you can sign into your streaming apps on. One flag is that you should sign off your accounts before you leave. The staff is amazing. The front desk people were all very helpful when we were trying to get taxis or had questions. And they didn't mind our kid coming down to steal cookies from the lobby. The cleaning staff is wonderful. The rooms are very clean and they were really nice and responsive when we needed to get rid of garbage or restock something. The gym is huge and way nicer than expected. Also great in the arctic. We chose this place over a more traditional hotel because of all of the amenities, and we were not disappointed. This is not located in the city center, but it's a short walk to there (about 10 minutes or so depending on weather). There is a supermarket a few minutes away, which is very convenient. The location is very good, and it is also kind of up on a hill, with nice views."

"We booked this room type but weren't actually assigned it. We only realized the room was wrong after we carried our luggage upstairs to the room. When we went back to the front desk, they said they could change it, but they showed no remorse. We were too lazy to bother, so we didn't change it. There was no refrigerator, and the heating was broken."

"The best part was the night time view from our window. And now the reality of actually staying there, Arctic Mary Rooms "Hotel". 1. Nice front door,with a pile of junk ceiling high at the side. 2. Needed a torch to operate key code pad outside, making a loud noise with every touch. 3. Boots strewn all over the hallway causing me to trip when entering. 4. Misdescribed Superior Room, no mention of shared bathroom and toilet. 5. Only one thin pillow each, contacted the manager (he had emailed us, to ask him for anything we need) but absolutely no reply from him. Rolled up our quilts as pillows and winter coats used for blankets. 6. Kitchen table, worktops, sink and hob covered in dirty old dishes and food scraps. 7. Dishwasher rammed full and not working. Not even one clean cup or plate to be found. 8. Cigarette stubs outside our room and smokers at open front door. 9. Constant loud stomping up wooden stairs for the bathroom and toilet, playing loud music in the shower, wet towels always on the floor, dirty shower full of product bottles 10. Smeared excrement on toilet seat, I had to clean before use, and blood smear on the wall by the bin. 11. Second night at 0130 in the morning loud door bell was rung every few seconds for about 30 minutes, then at 0155 loud shouting inside, I had to get up and call down for quiet. 12. Third night, double booking of room next to us, family was thrown out after midnight, with 45 minutes of crashing and yelled arguments in italian until 0100hours Avoid at all cost if you don't want to be stressed out"
