The Jiantan Youth Activity Center is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Jiantan MRT Station. For this stay, I was assigned a twin room on the 10th floor, which offered a fantastic view of Taipei 101. The scenery was truly captivating, offering different charms from day to night. The room itself was clean and spacious, the breakfast spread was above average, and the staff were incredibly friendly. A major highlight is the extremely convenient parking; the center provides ample parking spaces, which is a huge relief for guests traveling from afar, as they don't have to worry about finding a spot. The next time I visit Taipei, Jiantan Youth Activity Center will definitely remain my top choice. A big thank you to all the staff for their dedicated efforts in maintaining the center.

This place offers excellent value for money, includes breakfast, and boasts a fantastic location. Shilin Night Market and the Taipei Performing Arts Center are just a short walk away. The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast spread was quite varied and substantial.
However, there were a couple of minor hiccups. One morning, some students mistakenly knocked on our door, thinking it was their room. Additionally, housekeeping staff mistakenly thought we had checked out on two separate occasions, which was a bit disruptive. Breakfast hours are also quite restrictive, only from 7 AM to 9 AM.
Despite these small issues, I would definitely consider staying here again.

I had a consecutive stay here a few days ago, then skipped a day, and when I checked in again, I was assigned a room on the 8th floor. This room was incredibly dusty, the floor was dirty, and the sheets were unclean. The walkway was so narrow I couldn't even properly open my luggage (a significant downgrade from my previous stay).
I called the front desk to complain and requested a room change. They offered one alternative room facing a busy street with no extra charge; all other options came with a 400-500 (currency implied) surcharge. I really couldn't understand the reason for the additional cost. I ended up switching to the room facing the busy street, but it was also very dusty. I then had to ask housekeeping to change the duvet because I had been bitten on my calf by some unknown insect.
My spirits truly hit rock bottom. I sincerely hope the hotel staff treat all guests with respect and don't differentiate their service based on how much each guest pays.

The location is excellent, with very quick access to the MRT. Free parking throughout my stay was a huge plus. As for breakfast, while there weren't many options, everything was delicious and had that comforting homemade feel. Watching the morning traffic outside felt quite energizing, and seeing a lively group of students downstairs further added to the vibrant atmosphere. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are very well-maintained. The front desk staff were also very helpful. I'll definitely be back to stay again. See you soon! 😂

The quad room was tiny. The beds were pushed tight against the walls on both sides, leaving only a narrow walkway in the middle, and there was only one chair available in the entire room. The hallway outside the room was also very narrow, almost like a makeshift, partitioned passageway. The room was clean, and the window directly faced the Grand Hotel. There's a YouBike station right outside the main entrance, which is incredibly convenient! Parking costs 40 NTD per hour, and charges begin from 12 PM on your check-out day.

For Taipei, this place is very budget-friendly and offers great value for money! I chose a room with a view of Taipei 101 — a peaceful spot right in the city. The grounds are spacious, it’s close to Shilin Night Market, and there are also hiking trails nearby.

I was badly treated by the 2 racist old women at checkin. I arrived early at 10 am and I know that the room wouldn’t be ready but the way they spoke to me was absolutely rude and disrespectful. I asked when will the room be ready, the reply a very loud and harsh “I DON’T KNOW!! Maybe 3!! Maybe 4!! I DON’T KNOW!!” So i sat at the lobby for TWO HOURS and even dozed off. I got up at 12, still at the lobby, when 2 Chinese girls walked with their bags, went to the counter and in less than 5 minutes, were checked in and got into the lift. I went back to the counter and asked why was i left stranded at the lobby when those girls were allowed to check in??? The 2 old women couldn’t answer me, stammered and quickly gave me key to my room and DID NOT EVEN APOLOGISE. they didn’t even bother to tell me where the breakfast place was, or any information about the hotel facilities. Shame on you, Chien Tan hotel!! DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE BROWN LIKE ME. WHAT A HORRIBLE AND UPSETTING EXPERIENCE. RUINED MY TRIP COMPLETELY!!!!! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN EVER!!!!
