"Although in quite a remote area, this hotel is modern and well finished. We stayed there for 2 nights with a Titan holiday tour. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The room and facilities were fitting a modern 4*. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food was average though, with not much choice and there was only one staff in the restaurant for the 47 of us. Crazy! He really tried - but could have used help..."

"The Vine House at Quinta São Luiz is one of the few Quintas with accommodation situated just above the River Douro waters`edge. Most rooms have a large balcony/terrace with magnificent views - make sure you choose one of these! The rooms are immaculately clean, modern, airy, fully equipped with coffee- machine, Mini Bar, hairdryer, a big walk-in shower and there`s good access throughout. The swimming pool is brand new and there is also a super restaurant, so once you are there, you don`t need to leave for dinner. The terrace is the best place to sit - weather permitting - especially at sunset. Breakfast is simple but fresh and of good quality. The Cellar is open to visits and a number of Tastings are available for visitors and house guests alike. The staff are welcoming throughout and very well trained. They also have a well stocked Wine and Port Shop. One of the best places to stay, in my opinion, in the Douro Valley."
