Waterman Beach Village

Waterman Beach Village ★★★★

📍 Vrilo 7, Supetar

"Lovely location - stunning beach a few minutes walk (children spent hours in the clear water snorkeling, but water shoes are a must with the sea urchins! ). Easy walk along the water into the town. Great restaurant / bar along the way - Bistro Pizzeria Vrilo, which was reasonably priced and had great views over to the mainland. Also Lidl and another supermarket very nearby. However the resort facilities were tired - ie table tennis table needed a new surface. The restaurant had wonderful views but the food wasn't that good (shown I thinkby the fact we were the only people in it the evening we went). The main disappointment however was the accommodation - we had the lodge by the road (very noisy / vibrations from trucks). The master bedroom was OK and comfy bed but the bunk room was terrible - the ladder to the top bunk was broken so my son spent the first night on the PVC sofa as he couldn't climb up. We asked to move but were told we couldn't as they were full. The ladder was patch repaired the next day but was far from ideal and were constantly concerned it would break."

"The resort itself is a 7 minute taxi ride from the port (around €15-20 in high season) or you can walk for about 25 minutes. There is ample parking available at €5 per day. I expected my reservation of a Deluxe Double Room with balcony and sea view to be exactly that. Disappointingly, the room provided in the ‘villa’ was on the ground floor with a terrace, an entrance door with frosted glass and the view from the window was obscured by a hedge. The room itself was also dated, fridge wasn’t working and there were carcasses of mosquitoes all over the walls. Ceiling in the bathroom was also peeling. A compensatory bottle of wine was provided under the circumstances. Given that a different room (matching my reservation description) wasn’t available, we had to stay put until being moved into another villa room the following day, in the same building but on an upper floor. This was clearly in better shape and did have a balcony. The resort itself is very well maintained and immaculately clean. The staff are welcoming and pleasant overall. There is access to an abundance of beach space and/or walkway which runs parallel to the beach, albeit very crowded in August. The beach bar offers a good selection of food and drink at relatively reasonable prices. The Olive buffet restaurant is huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food selection is excellent and very well presented, although €30 per person for dinner is a bit excessive irrespective of age (children’s pricing?) if you did not prepay for the meal plan. Soft drinks pricing (€3.90 for a small bottle of bitter lemon) is absurd. Breakfast at the Olive restaurant is included and as equally well presented with something for all tastes. Did not use the other facilities, but there are plenty available. Overall, I would recommend the resort but would encourage anyone to verify that room descriptions provided by your chosen web site or agent match the reality."

"Fantastic hotel, 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and bus station. The resort is small but makes for a quiet holiday which is exactly what we were looking for. We were upgraded to the harbour suite which is a stunning room, although no balcony, didn’t bother us, just to make others aware. Shower gel and shampoo are Ritual branded and smell lovely. The food is fabulous, breakfast is buffet style and dinner (for half boarders) is chosen off the menu. Really high quality and believe they were Michelin recommended for 2024. They even gave us a breakfast bag as we were checking out very early. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and can’t do enough for you. This was the case from reception, restaurant to the roof top bar. All were great. The rooftop bar was a brilliant place to sit and watch the sunset and the ferry coming and going. The pool is covered and heated with a separate area for sunbathing. There’s also a couple of saunas you can use. The smallest gripe, it would be good to trim the top of the trees which blocked the view from the sun terrace. Would absolutely stay here again for a chilled and relaxing holiday."

Villa Midea ★★★★

📍 Ul. Stjepana Radića 2, Supetar

"A great place for family or a couple vacation. We've stayed at Villa Midea for 12 years in a raw. As we've been in every apartment I definitely can say that each of them is cozy, very clean, all needed furniture, beds and sofas are very comfortable to sleep, air-conditioning complimented with ceiling ventilators and in every apartment there is a terrassa. Kitchen has all necessary facilities for cooking. Swimming pool is a safer, when it's too hot at the beach, but kids want to have fun. At the same time it is a chilling place with lounge relax music. The location is very comfortable: nearest beach in 5 mins away, supermarket is just down the street, and beside it you can buy fresh veggies, fruits and local olive oil. If you like to drive across the island, it's also very easy to go out from the city avoiding troubles with driving through narrow old town streets. It's quite place at the evening, but still near night bars 5-7 mins far, if you are in to it. For those, who like to walk through old streets, you have two ways: up and down the Villa to explore the city. The bay is 10 mins away only, where you can find restorans, pizzerias and cafes, and you don't need to climb or down from high heels to reach it."

"This lovely boutique hotel is in a great location in Supetar- easy walk to the beaches, restaurants and ferry yet in a quiet, private neighborhood setting. Our room was spacious, comfortable (especially the beds) and clean. Breakfasts in the light filled courtyard were wonderful. The hotel staff are incredible. They accommodated our every need and made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived."

"Beyond appalling in every aspect. A chain of what was once four and five star hotels just left to fall to pieces in every way but they still want to charge four star prices for a one star experience. Their handling of medical issues and allergens is just terrible. I had a huge asthma attack in one of their other hotels because of the massively excessive use of air freshener and perfume in every toom in the hotel. Remember that smell that used to hit you when you walked into the bottom floor of Binns or House of Fraser near the perfume counter that gave you an immediate headache? Well times that by ten and you have yourself an Aminess hotel. The food is appalling. The chefs just throw everything out at the beginning of service so they can tidy up and go home and it just sits there and congeals while it goes cold. There are fruit flies walking over all of the desserts and the fruit and none of it is covered. These flies vomit all over the food and spread dangerous bacteria and then its recycled for breakfast the next day. Just disgusting. Allergen info is non existent. A Fish Stew with Shellfish labeled as a Vegi Potato Stew and Hazelnut Ice Cream with no sign at all. Anyone going into anaphylactic shock would just be an inconvenience to the staff, as I was. I mentioned this to the Restaurant Manager who actually just laughed at me. They all look like they would rather be anywhere else. The reception staff are just plain rude and unkind. Two thirds of the resort is closed after the season ends but they still continue to charge full prices. Including charging you for all drinks and even water on all inc, oh, and they charge you to sit on the sun loungers on the beach for ten mins too. Theres no food available between 9am and 7pm out of season, everything in the resort is packed away and locked up so they don't need to pay the staff any longer. I very seriously stipulated after my asthma attack (asked one manager to convey the seriousness of the issue to another manager) that I would arrive at the hotel with no inhaler until I could locate a doc/refill on the following day. I asked for a room with no air con/perfume/heating. So they booked me into a room with a perfume filled lobby, in a room above the bar (literally three ft above) that was full of cigarette smoke and when I closed the window the air con came on. I asked the manager and NO ONE knew of my medical issue. I could have had another attack in the room with no inhaler, called reception, not been able to breathe or talk and no one would have even known there was a problem. I could have died right there on the floor and no one would have given a s*** I emailed reservations immediately to try and cancel the reservation. They ignored me for four full days while I chased the manager around the building so they could FORCE me to stay and FORCE ME TO PAY IN FULL FOR THE ROOM. In their response they will try to deny this. But the manager himself told me they di"

Waterman Beach Village ★★★★
"Disappointing – Definitely Not a 4-Star Resort Unfortunately, I really struggle to understand how this accommodation is rated as 4-star. In my opinion, it’s 2–3 star at best. The location itself is good. There is a bit of a walk to the shops and into town, but the town is absolutely stunning and well worth visiting. Sadly, the accommodation and facilities were a real disappointment: • Beach beds are charged at €6 per person, per day, which soon adds up for a family. • The swimming pool situation is dreadful and certainly not what we expected from a supposed 4-star resort. • The rooms are basically small portacabins with very little storage. • The bathroom is extremely small, dated and had visible damage. • Cleanliness inside the accommodation was below the standard we expected from 4 star accommodation. • We were constantly having to ring for towels because the correct amount wasn't being left for our family. • The "beach bar" is little more than a fridge selling overpriced beers and soft drinks. • There is no shop on site to buy basic essentials. • The main onsite bar only opens in the morning and evening, meaning there is nowhere to conveniently get snacks, food, drinks or even a beer during the afternoon. One of the biggest disappointments is the difference between reality and what is posted online. Do not rely too heavily on the website or social media images when deciding whether to book. They have clearly been photographed and presented very creatively, because they give a much better impression of the accommodation and facilities than we experienced in reality. For the price being charged and the advertised 4-star rating, we expected considerably better. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend staying here based on our experience. That said, Brač itself is absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful island with some fantastic towns, beaches and scenery, and we would happily return to Brač — we'd just choose somewhere else to stay next time. Very disappointed!"

"Stayed here September '23. Due to Storm Daniel this was our second choice. Beautiful location, very nice hotel, lovely food, good access to Beach and town. It does, however, need some touching up. Curtains hanging off, fridges iced up, safes not working, aircon units need updating. The staff, especially at the beach bar, weren't especially attentive. Reception and breakfast staff were great. Brac is a lovely island with great access to Split, Hvar and Korcula. Would certainly recommend both the area and the hotel. Just needs a bit of TLC."

"This place is a hidden gem. The hotel was perfect for what we’re looking for. Me and my friend spent a week here and it did not disappoint. Room cleaned everyday, a good choice for breakfast and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is a small hotel and the staff were excellent. Hopefully see you again next year"

"We arrived here as part of a package holiday and first of all I cannot fault the staff. There was a massive mix-up with our transfer and it was assumed we were a no-show. Regardless, the staff pulled out all the stops and made a room available. To be clear - this review is for the hotel and has nothing to do with our tour operator. The site is really nice and well kept. Lonely rosemary bushes, fig- and olive trees, cypress trees. The hotel does have well appointed tennis courts, a football court and a dive centre. Sadly the rooms and public spaces are tired and overall the hotel feels outdated and basic. It feels like we stepped back in time into the 90s. The pool is very small, there are few loungers and even fewer parasols and whilst there is access to the beach, it’s crowded and very shallow. So in terms of places to relax you’re limited to your balcony or the lobby bar. The prices in the lobby bar and beach bar are steep! This afternoon we walked into the local town and even on the bay front you could get a 200ml glass of very good local wine for €4.50 in a restaurant serving local delicacies. In comparison the hotel sells a 125ml measure of wine for between €6.50 and €9.70 and you will be drinking this in far less idyllic surroundings. Many of the hotel guests are on laptops and on speaker phones working, which makes it feel more like a business hotel. Whilst other resorts, just as the TUI one next door, seem more private, plenty of people come to the beach here from all over the town if they are in accommodation without beach access. That makes it feel less exclusive and a little unfair for those of us who have paid a premium to stay in the resort vs a cheap Airbnb. It also makes the beach even more crowded. Every inch of the beach is taken and there are no loungers exclusive to the hotel. In fact there are only a handful of loungers and people move them to wherever they like and away from the beach. Maybe some staff on the beach would be good? You effectively have to pay for something from a local shop as the beach is made up of very sharp stones. You have to buy mattresses or loungers to lie on the beach. Not just a towel. Pool- or beach towels are not provided. Many of the guests are families with small children, so I wouldn’t recommend this as a couples resort. You can’t even have a drink by the pool! No glass allowed. The lobby bar is very dated and much of the furniture needs to be replaced. Strangely however there is a beautiful terrace on the top of the building - but with no furniture. This would be the perfect spot to have a drink and enjoy the gorgeous views of the coast, the sea and the mountains. Instead you sit on a terrace by the pool and hear small children scream constantly. The beach bar is also very expensive food wise. You can grab a shrimp sandwich 5 minutes from the hotel for €12. The simple sandwiches at the hotel are around €20. Sadly it closes at 7pm, so a pre-dinner drink for anyone eat"

"Beautiful campsite! We stayed here during SUP11xCroatia and had a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptional, friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. A special thank you to Josipa, Argentino, Michaela, Mihaela, and Nikola, who truly made our stay unforgettable with their kindness and professionalism. We stayed in a mobile home that was modern, spotless, and very well maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The campsite is peaceful at night, and the beach is just a few meters away, making the location perfect. All facilities were excellent and impeccably clean, including the multipurpose building, sanitary facilities, and laundry area. Looking forward to visit Brač and this beautiful campsite again."
