Steigenberger Phnom Penh

9.8/10
Outstanding

Having lived in Cambodia for a long time, I was accompanying my wife on a business trip to Phnom Penh this time. Since I enjoy trying out different hotels, I stumbled upon the newly opened Steigenberger Hotel in the Morgan Tower on Diamond Island. Morgan Tower is a local landmark office building with excellent access control and security, making for a reassuring stay. Upon learning that Steigenberger is a German hotel brand with nearly a century of history, we decided to give it a try. We had originally booked a king-sized room, but during check-in, the front desk staff learned that our wedding anniversary was approaching and proactively upgraded us to a deluxe river-view suite. A staff member even accompanied us back to our old room to collect our luggage and helped move it to the new suite. The entire process was very thoughtful and the service was impeccable. Both the king-sized room and the river-view suite were lovely, especially the latter. Located approximately 220 meters high, the hotel offers panoramic views of Phnom Penh city and the confluence of the three rivers. The daytime views are expansive, and the nighttime city lights are equally beautiful. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making for a very comfortable stay. As we arrived quite late, breakfast at the 46th-floor restaurant had already finished, so the staff directed us to the hotel's Japanese restaurant. We ordered a Tomahawk steak and a sushi set, both of which were delicious and high-quality. The restaurant is helmed by a chef with a Michelin three-star restaurant background, and the dining environment and high-altitude views were also excellent. Overall, this stay far exceeded our expectations. From the room views and dining to the service, everything left a great impression and completely changed my perception of hotels in Phnom Penh. I would likely choose to stay here again on future visits to Phnom Penh.

I was very satisfied with my stay this time! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, patient, and polite. Check-in and check-out were very quick, and they thoughtfully answered all my questions, making me feel very well taken care of. The room was clean and tidy, the environment was comfortable, and the facilities were complete. The bed was also very comfortable, so I slept soundly. The hotel's location is convenient, and the overall experience was fantastic. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit and will recommend it to my friends. Five-star rating, highly recommended!

Lovely place with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. It’s a bit quiet around the area, but that’s actually what makes it perfect for a relaxing break with family or friends.

Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh is an outstanding choice for travelers seeking a refined blend of comfort, convenience, and modern luxury in the heart of Cambodia’s vibrant capital. Having stayed here multiple times, it consistently proves itself to be one of the best upscale serviced residences and hotels in Phnom Penh, especially for both business travelers and long-stay guests. One of the hotel’s greatest strengths is its prime location. Situated within the prestigious Morgan Tower area, Oakwood Premier offers direct access to shopping malls, international restaurants, cafés, and entertainment venues. Whether you are heading to a business meeting, exploring the riverside, or simply looking for a convenient place to dine or shop, everything is just a short walk or drive away. Despite being in a lively district, the hotel itself remains peaceful and well-insulated, providing a calm retreat from the city’s energy. The rooms and serviced apartments are exceptionally well designed. Spacious, modern, and thoughtfully laid out, they feel more like a stylish private residence than a typical hotel room. High-quality bedding ensures excellent sleep quality, while large windows offer impressive city views and plenty of natural light. For longer stays, the fully equipped kitchens, washing machines, and generous storage space make daily life extremely comfortable and practical. Everything is clean, well maintained, and clearly designed with attention to detail. Service at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh is another highlight. The staff are consistently professional, warm, and efficient, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. From front desk check-in to housekeeping and concierge services, the team demonstrates international hospitality standards while maintaining a friendly, personal touch. Requests are handled quickly, and guests are made to feel welcome and valued throughout their stay. The hotel’s facilities further elevate the experience. The swimming pool is clean and relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The fitness center is well equipped, suitable for both casual workouts and serious training. Business travelers will also appreciate the meeting spaces and reliable high-speed internet, making it easy to work comfortably from the hotel. Dining options are convenient and well curated, with quality restaurants and cafés either within the building or just steps away. Whether you prefer international cuisine or local flavors, there is no shortage of excellent choices nearby, making daily dining effortless. Overall, Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh delivers a consistently high-quality experience. It combines luxury, functionality, and an unbeatable location, making it ideal for business trips, extended stays, or travelers who simply value space and comfort. Each visit feels reliable, relaxing, and well worth it—an easy hotel to return to again and again when staying in Phnom Penh.

Housekeeping was not done thoroughly. Bed sheet was not change as strains were visible seen. Understand the room was mentioned upgraded but as compared to my colleague's room, there is 3 seater sofa. Breakfast start 6am but items are not ready. Simple fried eggs when approach was not available too. 2 weeks stay, not a single day the breakfast in ready in time except i wake up later at Sunday morning.. Food quality is good with varieties. loud bass echo can be heard till morning 6 am breakfast time. Lobby service is good. Staff are polite too. Laundry service is prompt on time as promised.

This is my 2nd time at the Sokha in Phnom Penh and both times were fantastic. I will stay again for sure. The rooms are incredible - clean - huge - high ceilings, great view. My friends and I referred to it as “the palace” the first time. It is so luxurious and a wonderful treat. The pool is clean and enormous. The workout room is clean, open with a nice view and has fantastic machines. The spa is lovely. They have several restaurants. I cannot resist the rooftop and only chose that one. Prices were reasonable for the value. The staff is so friendly. Senh at the front desk took extra care to make sure I was comfortable. It is on the “other” side of the river but you can cross on the car ferry for 25 cents (R1000)and are right in all the action on the other side. Sorry I forgot to take room photos but here is the pool and view from my room!

Firstly the hotel is like 20 mins ride from airport , but opposite side the bustling town. It’s just across from Mekong river. Mobility to reach hotel were hassle free. As a diamond member i was able to do early check in and had my welcome drink and cold towel at reception. We booked bassac suite and as per photo it has bathtub , however when we checked in to my surprise it’s not. I ring to FO to check about and I were instructed to pay $20/ night if want but tub. However they had discussed this with their senior management and come up with free upgrade to high ceiling 16th floor room. Not sure what it called but such a grand fabulous room with Mekong river view too. Staffs are super friendly and welcoming, English speaking, overall the price I paid for my stay was worth it. If I ever coming back Phnom Penh I choose this hotel.

Every time I visit Phnom Penh, I stay at this hotel. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The pool and gym are clean. The hotel staff are enthusiastic, and the parking security guards are amiable. The foot massage parlor on the first floor of the hotel is also really nice! Plus, there are so many mango trees in the garden outside. It's also very close to the Royal Palace, less than 200 units away.
