Amazing
Cchosen 1_Having lived in Cambodia for a long time, I was accompanying my wife on a business trip to Phnom Penh this time. Since I enjoy trying out different hotels, I stumbled upon the newly opened Steigenberger Hotel in the Morgan Tower on Diamond Island. Morgan Tower is a local landmark office building with excellent access control and security, making for a reassuring stay. Upon learning that Steigenberger is a German hotel brand with nearly a century of history, we decided to give it a try.
We had originally booked a king-sized room, but during check-in, the front desk staff learned that our wedding anniversary was approaching and proactively upgraded us to a deluxe river-view suite. A staff member even accompanied us back to our old room to collect our luggage and helped move it to the new suite. The entire process was very thoughtful and the service was impeccable.
Both the king-sized room and the river-view suite were lovely, especially the latter. Located approximately 220 meters high, the hotel offers panoramic views of Phnom Penh city and the confluence of the three rivers. The daytime views are expansive, and the nighttime city lights are equally beautiful. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making for a very comfortable stay.
As we arrived quite late, breakfast at the 46th-floor restaurant had already finished, so the staff directed us to the hotel's Japanese restaurant. We ordered a Tomahawk steak and a sushi set, both of which were delicious and high-quality. The restaurant is helmed by a chef with a Michelin three-star restaurant background, and the dining environment and high-altitude views were also excellent.
Overall, this stay far exceeded our expectations. From the room views and dining to the service, everything left a great impression and completely changed my perception of hotels in Phnom Penh. I would likely choose to stay here again on future visits to Phnom Penh.
MMihai_BDefinitely Number 1 Ultra Luxury Property in Cambodia! Everything is superlative, accessible location, great views, best rooftop in Phnom Penh, many FB outlets. Amongst all what Rosewood does really well is impressive personalized service from line staff to Managers. Great culture of luxury hospitality indeed. Highly recommend and definitely will return. I doubt you can stay at a Rosewood anywhere in the world at this value. It's a must experience!
IImounThe location is decent, and it's convenient to get to by car. The service attitude is good, and the hygiene is excellent. There's a swimming pool. It looks beautiful and is quite photogenic. The parrots in the hallway are adorable.
GGuest UserThe overall quality of this hotel far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was deeply impressed by both the ambiance and the service. The lobby's design is simple yet elegant, with soft, non-glaring lighting that instantly melted away my travel fatigue. The front desk staff were professional and patient; even with many guests, they maintained their smiles and spoke gently and politely, making the check-in process incredibly smooth. The room itself truly showed the hotel's attention to detail: the bed was clean and comfortable, with high-quality linens that made me feel instantly relaxed. The shower had great water pressure and consistent temperature, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean, making me feel very secure. Even the air felt fresh and pleasant. Throughout my stay, every hotel employee maintained an exceptionally high standard of service. Any issues were addressed immediately without delay. Whether it was replenishing supplies, cleaning the room, or asking for local information, I always received a patient response. This meticulous and sincere service made staying here a true pleasure, not just a regular accommodation. It provided a real place for me to rest and recharge during my busy travels. This was a very enjoyable experience, and I will not hesitate to choose this hotel again. I genuinely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality stay. [ThumbsUp]
GGuest UserThe location is lovely and as you arrive there’s a real wow feeling.
The service is excellent and the whole team are delightful.
The pool was beautiful and the gardens were really lovely.
It was really quiet when we were there so the restaurant was often empty besides us which felt a bit strange. The food was fine but could have been hotter, it felt that presentation took priority over heat. The prices in the restaurant seemed quite high.
I love the idea that this place is eco friendly however if guests are expected to top up water bottles the water stations should be clean and inviting.
The gym was a bit scruffy and not inviting but then I wasn’t there for that!
The place is relatively new however there were definite signs of the rooms being tired but I think if cleaned more would make the place look spectacular - which I guess is the desired effect. Eg. Our courtyard was very scruffy and not welcoming. The TV wasn’t working and the windows in the apartment desperately needed cleaning.
Some little touches and attention to detail would bring this back to the 5* glory that it should be.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and hope that the management team take my comments on board because I think it could be fabulous.
GGuest UserI requested for the hotel pickup service, the driver was late and I waited for an hour for my ride. ONE HOUR. Communication was not good cuz the staff kept telling me the driver is parking, the driver will meet me yadayadayada when in fact he was simply just LATE. I could’ve taken the taxi but instead I waited an hour in the HEAT in a city that I have never been to. Safe to say I won’t stay with them ever again. They did void the charges to my ride but honestly I don’t see any other possible way.
Location: very close to the old airport but soooo far from the new Techo airport. To be fair, nothing is close to the new airport so I’ll give them that.
Cleanliness: ok
Placesto buy things: a supermarket and KFC and Starbucks nearby, not bad if you are not picky
Value for money: I did not look into other hotels but for its pricing I guess it’s ok? With acceptable amenities, very big bed, but lots of Chinese…
GGuest UserThis is my 2nd time at the Sokha in Phnom Penh and both times were fantastic. I will stay again for sure. The rooms are incredible - clean - huge - high ceilings, great view. My friends and I referred to it as “the palace” the first time. It is so luxurious and a wonderful treat. The pool is clean and enormous. The workout room is clean, open with a nice view and has fantastic machines. The spa is lovely. They have several restaurants. I cannot resist the rooftop and only chose that one. Prices were reasonable for the value. The staff is so friendly. Senh at the front desk took extra care to make sure I was comfortable. It is on the “other” side of the river but you can cross on the car ferry for 25 cents (R1000)and are right in all the action on the other side. Sorry I forgot to take room photos but here is the pool and view from my room!
MMalik_ExplorerFirstly the hotel is like 20 mins ride from airport , but opposite side the bustling town. It’s just across from Mekong river. Mobility to reach hotel were hassle free. As a diamond member i was able to do early check in and had my welcome drink and cold towel at reception. We booked bassac suite and as per photo it has bathtub , however when we checked in to my surprise it’s not. I ring to FO to check about and I were instructed to pay $20/ night if want but tub. However they had discussed this with their senior management and come up with free upgrade to high ceiling 16th floor room. Not sure what it called but such a grand fabulous room with Mekong river view too. Staffs are super friendly and welcoming, English speaking, overall the price I paid for my stay was worth it. If I ever coming back Phnom Penh I choose this hotel.
__WeChat15291****Every time I visit Phnom Penh, I stay at this hotel. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The pool and gym are clean. The hotel staff are enthusiastic, and the parking security guards are amiable. The foot massage parlor on the first floor of the hotel is also really nice! Plus, there are so many mango trees in the garden outside. It's also very close to the Royal Palace, less than 200 units away.
