Find 4-Star Hotels in Lombok

This was a treat as it’s a birthday celebration but it soon turned into a series of unfortunate events. The service and staff are amazing but their rooms have a serious bug problem. We woke up in the middle of the night to find our pillows covered with winged bugs that looked like ants, they were in the pillow and on the pillow, upon inspection there were more on the headboard and on the sofa by the window. We started to also notice dust piles on the floor in the room too, so we suspect they are eating at the wood. It was pretty alarming to find and have bugs crawling on your bed and we soon found out it was on our bags too. A staff member was quick to come to our room to inspect but the main team have already gone home. They allowed us to switch rooms but it looks like the problem is in the other room too. By the bed, more dust piles and on the sofa more bugs. It’s midnight so we sprayed the bed with bug spray and hope no more will crawl on us. As well as this their sink was blocked. We are both adventurous people, slept in the rainforest before, camped etc so we are not scared of bugs but when these could be termites or carpenter ants, our biggest worry is bringing them home. It’s not a nice situation for them either given their buildings are 200 years old. The next morning comes and the situation was not handled like a luxury hotel would. No one came to speak to us about it and no apology until I mentioned it at reception. The room they moved us to was also a smaller one so we effectively paid for a bigger room that we couldn’t stay in, this also wasn’t mentioned. There were positives like free bike usage, good cocktails, board games in lobby and a clean pool but I wouldn’t say this is a luxury hotel but more like a 3 star hotel with a 5 star mask. All in all, a birthday that wasn’t a treat.

I actually cried when we left this villa! I'm truly speechless when it comes to describing the range of emotions and experiences that made up our vacation! It was unforgettable! The warmth and responsiveness of the staff, the excellent location, the cleanliness and comfort, the peace and quiet... I could go on forever! Everything was perfect, without exception – the room, the design, the grounds. The housekeeping was impeccable, not a speck of dust in the room, and the grounds were constantly maintained. The beach is just a stone's throw away, the water is crystal clear, there are lots of turtles, and beautiful fish. We walked at low tide to the turn on the left side, and from there, we started snorkeling along the edge of the reef where turtles gather in groups of 3-5. We even saw a venerable lady about a meter long. It's incredibly beautiful, they look like they're flying. Larger fish also swim in from the deep there. There are cats on the hotel grounds, so don't be lazy, pack a bag of cat food in your suitcase, and they'll thank you with their purrs. Not far from the hotel, there's a cat shelter where they treat sick animals, and also sell food and souvenirs, with the proceeds going towards animal care. Don't miss catching at least one sunrise and watching a sunset; photos simply don't do the beauty justice. After swimming to our heart's content and enjoying delicious dinners, we slept like babies on the comfortable beds, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of birdsong. It was a vacation for the mind and body, feeling as if we were in paradise. A special thank you to the staff who create this incredible atmosphere.

I have to give this a great review; too bad there aren't ten stars, otherwise I'd definitely give it a perfect score! After a four-day, three-night liveaboard trip from Komodo to Lombok, we stayed at the Novotel Lombok Resort & Villas in Kuta for four days. The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and full of charming little details. For instance, the pebble paths are adorned with mosaics of turtles and Komodo dragons, the frog-shaped lights along the pathways are adorable, and the triangular entrance archways to the villas feel mysterious (check out the photos!). We stayed in a Sasak-style villa (without a pool). The room was spacious, and the bed was especially comfortable – lying in it felt like being wrapped in a cloud, so secure and cozy. I slept incredibly well these past few days, completely recovering from the 'pain' of the liveaboard trip 😂. It's perfect for a relaxing, 'lie flat' vacation. During check-in, there was a staff member who spoke some simple Chinese, which made communication easy. However, throughout our four-day stay, we didn't encounter any other Chinese guests. It was mostly Indonesian locals, Westerners, and we did see two Koreans. In fact, when we went out to places like the Bat Cave and the cliffs, we rarely saw any Chinese tourists either. The hotel reception offers motorbike rentals. They'll call one for you, and it usually arrives in about 20 minutes. A small scooter costs 150k per day. The restaurant food was decent – you know how it is, pretty much what you'd expect. Breakfast wasn't particularly special. For à la carte meals at other times, the Kung Pao Chicken and Sichuan Beef we tried were pretty good. They're definitely not the standard authentic Chinese preparation, but the taste was enjoyable. For two people, two dishes plus drinks cost roughly 180 RMB per meal (Qris Alipay is accepted). One evening, they forgot our order, and we waited for 40 minutes. The chef personally came to apologize and offered us free ice cream. Overall, the service attitude was excellent, and the staff were all very enthusiastic. If you register as a Novotel member, the hotel's Wi-Fi is super fast. The in-house spa is a little bit on the pricier side, but the massage techniques are good, and the best part is you don't have to go out looking for one. The hotel has its own beach, and next to it is a small hill perfect for watching both beautiful sunrises and sunsets (see photos). On our last day, while watching the sunset from the hill, a little black dog ran up and sat beside me, accompanying me as I watched the sunset [crying emoji]. Anyone understand that feeling? The world instantly felt quiet and peaceful. It's about a 15-minute motorbike ride from the hotel to Kuta town, which is very convenient. Shopping and dining spots there also accept Qris Alipay (though some convenience stores don't). We ate at a Chinese restaurant called 'Jiangnan'; their Spicy Chicken was delicious, and the cold wood ear mushroom salad was perfectly seasoned (though the peanuts were raw, which made me laugh). You can also order takeaways via Grab, and riders accept Qris payment upon delivery.

Great experience, all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The location is also well located, close to Bask and Pomona (both great for breakfast / Lunch / Dibber). I would not recommend the breakfast attached to the hotel though as it is super basic (but it is cheap at approximately 8 euros). Also there weresome drainage issues with the villa we had.

LOVED this hotel!!! Hands down the most beautiful hotel on the island. This place offers stunning beach vibes with little apartments and lovely outdoor spaces that make it so easy to relax and soak up the island lifestyle. We actually rented bikes and rode around the entire island, and this was easily the most beautiful hotel we saw! The pool is the absolute main feature here—great cocktails and an amazing vibe. The rooms were nice, and the outdoor shower was the cutest touch! My only minor critique regarding the room would be the lack of shower gel holders and towel rails near the actual shower itself. Food-wise, breakfast was incredible. It can take quite some time—you could easily spend an hour there—but it wasn't a problem for us because they bring out croissants and pastries while you wait, keeping you full while you enjoy the beautiful views. An absolutely stunning stay, I can't wait to go back!

Hotel itself is beautiful with well-kept grounds and a gorgeous pool area that feels really relaxing. It’s in a great location, right on the main strip so everything is within walking distance, but tucked away enough that it still feels peaceful and quiet. Rooms are huge, modern, and very clean, with daily housekeeping and fresh water provided. Tea/coffee facilities, a mini fridge, and a TV with plenty of channels. Staff were amazing - so friendly, helpful, and quick to assist with anything. I did have an issue with noise from internal building works, but the team handled it well, moving me quickly and even gave me a complimentary upgrade, which I really appreciated. Facilities overall were great. Pools are beautiful with plenty of sun loungers. The pool at the back of the resort was quieter (and away from nearby building works). Food was also really good - breakfast was tasty, although for the first few days it was à la carte rather than buffet due to lower occupancy, which was a little disappointing, but there was still plenty of food. Lots of convenient extras too - room service available as well as laundry service (although a bit pricey). The hotel can also arrange taxis to the airport (around 250K IDR, cash only), as Grab doesn’t seem to operate in the area. Location-wise, it’s perfect. Great restaurants nearby like Cantina Mexicana and KRNK for a quick bite, plus a supermarket right next door and plenty of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance. **Tip:** try to request a room in the newer part of the hotel at the back of the resort - it’s quieter (away from building works) and more updated.

A very big hotel, with very professional and attentive staff. The property shows some signs of age and could use a refresh, at least on the outside. The only downside was the complete lack of soundproofing in our room (a suite, no less); it faced the street, and the incessant traffic noise could be heard late into the night. In fact, noise from the hotel's common areas was audible as well. This is unacceptable given the hotel's overall presentation! Hotel molto grande, personale molto professionale e attento. Struttura con qualche segno del tempo che passa, avrebbe bisogno di una rinfrescata almeno esternamente. Unica nota negativa la TOTALE mancanza d’insonorizzazione della nostra stanza (una suite tra l’altro) era affacciata sul lato strada e i rumori del traffico incessante si sentivano fino a tarda notte. A dire il vero si sentivano anche i rumori delle zone comuni dell’hotel. Inaccettabile per come si presenta l’hotel!

I requested a room with one large bed instead of two singles when I booked, and again at check-in. They nodded at reception and then ignored it, even though half the hotel was empty. Everywhere, they try to force extra commissions on you when you order anything in the restaurant. The menu should always show the final price; all costs (taxes and so on) should be included. For example, I take a ready-made coffee to go for $4, and they try to tack on a service charge... What service? I'm taking it out, they're not cleaning my table, not giving me a massage. They don't provide an answer. We're not buying coffee beans that they need to prepare and turn into coffee with a service, are we? Let's then charge a land tax, the chef's health insurance, and a disposal fee for the toilet. Are you kidding me? I've visited several cafes in Bali, and nowhere was this the case! One time I encountered it, I called the police and they immediately cancelled all extra charges! Keep this in mind. It's not about the money, but deception is unacceptable.

The room was nice and clean, but it was incredibly noisy – even at night, you could hear everything from the street, like very loud cars and music. The hotel can't really be blamed for that. Across the street, there's a grocery store, which is really convenient. There are also quite a few dining options around.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely loved my stay at Java Wood! This little villa was the perfect peaceful retreat during my time on Gili T. The rooms were clean, cosy, and beautifully styled with natural wooden touches — you can tell real care has gone into the place. But what truly made it special were the staff — incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and help with anything I needed, from local tips to arranging transport. It’s tucked away in a quiet spot, but still just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. If you’re looking for a relaxed and authentic stay with warm hospitality, Java Wood is a gem. Highly recommend!
