The hotel is a Ibis/ Holiday Inn Express version of the Prince Hotel. It is no frills basic hotel with a great location. The breakfast is a simple chazuke dish with a drink.
Check-in timing is inflexible but you can leave your luggage and explore the area a bit, not sure if Prince Hotel loyalty members get any special treatment.
The room is basic and have everything you need with ensuite bathroom. The location is just a short walk from Atami Station and the Toyota Rental Car office. There is a car park but there are some restrictions over the timing etc.

Hotels services is good. The room is pretty big and tidy, feeling comfortable in it. Walk for 2-3mins to 7-11 or Lawson.
Public onsen provides inside and outside experience.
The only disappointed is there is a Group of HK people arrived, there is a man full of tatoo get in public onsen. I checked the rules at front door. It mentioned Tatoo is prohibited. This kind of stupid HK people is a shame for HK when they travel around in Japan. Dont understand the culture of Japan.
No parking area for loading, Car parking needs to use next hotel, a bit inconvenience if you carrying few luggages. 🧳

There is a very comfortable hot spring downstairs, and the room can see the sea.
The hotel is on the mountain, a little far from the city, and very quiet.
In the early morning,
the shivering clouds leaned against each other
just like the reflection of the balcony glass railing
we wrapped ourselves in quilts, holding cameras,
with shivering hands
carefully holding the distant clouds and morning light.
The sun was lifted up by the sea. We returned to the room.
”It's great, it's getting warmer.”
”But it's not because of the sun, it's because of the air conditioning.”
”It's so funny, I want to record this sentence.”
”It's not just because of the air conditioning.”
The islands in the distance gradually became clear, and disappeared because the sunlight was too dazzling.

The bathroom is surprisingly clean. The location is good and not far from JR, but there is a slope. There is only one bathroom. The boys' bathing time is too short. They will not have enough time to take a bath after returning from the fireworks festival. Basic toiletries, disinfectants, etc. are all provided. Anyway, there are many charged items, so it’s best to bring your own. Breakfast is a bowl of Ochazuke rice with an egg. The self-service option includes dishwashing. If you don’t have any requirements for breakfast, you can consider it.

During the last two nights in Japan, I felt the Japanese style. The boss and the boss lady were very nice. When we just checked in, the boss said to us very cutely: ”Wait a minute, my Chinese is not good, I will ask my wife to come out.” Basically, you can ask the boss lady any questions during the two nights you stay. As long as she sees it, she will reply. She also recommended the more beautiful attractions and explained very clearly how many minutes to walk. I visited the recommended attractions, such as the Kamiya Shrine, the Kiunkaku, and the MOA Art Museum. For a day, you can actually take the bus to MOA in the morning and then stroll to the shrine, and then stroll to the Kiunkaku. It's not tiring to go down the mountain all the way. If you still have the energy, continue to walk for a few minutes and go to the beach in the afternoon. It's very comfortable to go on a one-day trip. When you leave the store, as long as the boss has time, he can help you send you to the station. The boss lady also specifically told you that you can still ask her if you need anything. I saw many comments before that the boss lady is from Northeast China, but you can't tell at all. She is so gentle. In addition, the restaurant recommended by the boss is also great. In short, it is very practical and convenient to live here in Atami.

The hotel is close to Atami Station and the shopping street, just a 5-minute walk away, and the location is very convenient. Stayed in a Japanese-style room with two meals for one night. The kaiseki dinner was very exquisite and the breakfast was also very good. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, we were very satisfied with this stay!

Since it was a holiday in Japan, it was difficult to book a room. After reading the reviews, I was not very satisfied with the room. I booked a Japanese-style room with a nervous mood. I brought my parents out to play. The room was very large, with a separate bathing room and toilet. The toilet did smell very bad as other guests commented, but it was acceptable. There were many types of buffets in the evening and breakfast. There were three places to soak in hot springs, and you could see the stars in the open air. The hotel also had a free shuttle bus to Atami Station. It was about a 10-minute walk from Kinomiya Station. There were many restaurants near the hotel. My parents were very satisfied with this hotel.
Experience a new style of travel in Atami! Enjoy a comfortable stay with self-catering options at the couple-only "Hitotoki-tei," which features rooms with open-air baths. Plus, there's a rooftop BBQ terrace where you can watch the Atami fireworks festival, along with Atami hot springs and a hotel with a garage that can accommodate group rentals, "Honkan: ATAMI SPRING TERRACE HOTEL."
JJürgan2024.12.28
It has a shared toilet and a Japanese-style room, and you have to make your own bed. It has the flavor of local travel in Japan! You can watch Atami Beach and the sunrise from the rooftop terrace, which is beautiful. It is very inconvenient to carry luggage up and down the mountain. It is recommended to take a taxi, but it is not far from the beach and shopping street, but the entire Atami is on a slope. If you know how to use it, checking in without anyone is actually quite convenient.

The location is close to the water park, which is only a 10-minute walk away. It is very convenient to watch the fireworks at sea. But it is not close to Atami Station, so if you miss the shuttle bus provided by the hotel, it will be troublesome to go there by yourself.
The room rate I chose includes breakfast and dinner. It is very convenient to enjoy the buffet in the hotel. There are many food choices. Most of the food tastes average, but some of it tastes good.
The hotel has a long history and the facilities are relatively old, but it is still clean and tidy. You can go to the large bath to soak in the hot springs. The outdoor hot spring water does not flow, and leaves fall into it, which does not feel good. The indoor hot spring water feels cleaner.

GGuest UserService is excellent. Once we called them at Atami Train Station, their car arrived in 10 mins to pick us up. The free ride from/to train station is very helpful. Free drinks and snacks during happy hours 3-5pm is very good. We have seafood, beef, fish and semi buffet for dinner. The beef was good. Fish is okay. Overall the services are very good and staffs can speak English that made it easy to communicate. The ocean view from our room is beautiful.
GGuest UserThe way the shuttle bus driver at the station handled the situation sounded and looked arrogant. ”There's only one attendant, so don't press me!” said the attendant. I know it can't be helped that there's only one, but I think there's a way to say it. So I didn't want to ride it, and took a taxi at my own expense. About 1500 yen.
When I arrived, there were not many receptionists, so I might have to wait a while, but I was able to get there right away. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the windows were large and very comfortable.
However, there were a lot of mosquitoes, and I was bitten a lot. When I called the front desk, the front desk and the room attendant didn't answer the internal line, so I called from my cell phone.
They told me to come and get some insecticide.
Overall, I got the impression that most of the staff were new.
I'm grateful that I was able to stay at such a cheap hotel, but it was disappointing that they were so rude. Of course, there were also nice staff, so it was even more disappointing.
DDayusangThe room was very big. We took three baths in the hot springs and it was very comfortable. Remember to include breakfast and dinner next time, otherwise it will be difficult to find food in Yugawara.
GGuest UserIt is a quiet and clean hotel inn.
The location is Kinomiya, one station away from Atami Station, and it is quite a bit up the mountain from the station, so it is definitely not within walking distance. You will need to take a shuttle or taxi.
There are several courses for dinner, so you need to search carefully and make a reservation.
If you make a reservation thinking it's a discounted rate, your enjoyment of the trip may be ruined by a poor dinner.
The 2nd to 4th floors of the main building have limited views, and the main building does not have a separate bathroom, so you must use the large public bath.
Both breakfast and dinner are French!
I think it's a little below restaurant standard.
GGuest UserIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities.
The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami!
I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.
GGuest UserOpen the window to see the sea. We booked a room to watch the Atami Fireworks Festival. I don't know why only rooms for 4 people were available. 2 people stayed in a 4-person room, 4 sets of breakfast and dinner, and 4 tatami beds. If 4 people stay in the room, the room rate of 2,500 is still very cheap during the fireworks festival. The elevator decoration in the main building looks old, but everything else is good.
GGuest UserI experienced the Japanese-style room, but there was no shower facility in the room. I had to go to the bathhouse on the third floor, which was a different experience. I could get a ride to JR Atami Station in the morning. The road in Atami was ups and downs. It was close to the seaside. It was very pleasant to walk along the seaside in the evening.
VViviIf you loves tatami style then you’ll definitely love this hotel. Very nice staff with alots of body language to explain everything that you dont understood.
For own drive guest, 1000yen per night for parking.
Walking distance to beach.
GGuest UserBecause the rice is very watery and very soft in the morning and night
If you like hardening, I recommend curry and fried rice.
Breakfast seems to have not been a staple food.
PPumpkinOverall, it could be rated excellent as a local ryokan but may not be ready for international clients. It has won Rakuten bronze award 2023. I am particular about smoking and the non smoking room was full of smoky smell. Also surprised that I have to set up my own tatami bed etc. Staff dependent on google translate but stranded when there's no WiFi. They could have translated common phrases in text. Nice garden.
