"Fantastic stay! Highly recommend. My partner and I stayed for a night. Arrived rather late and the staff were still up waiting for us. Acknowledged us by name and showed us up to our sea-facing room. Clean, well furnished, minimalist modern and spacious feel. Woke up to a fantastic unblocked sea view in our large window. Breakfast was available to all in the kitchen/ pantry from 7.30-10 with a more than decadent spread of your staples, hot fresh brewed tea and coffee. Minor drawback was the slightly longer walking distance from the city (about 15mins), no toothbrush available, and had I not read up online ahead of time, I’d never be able to find the place as there is (as many others have also mentioned) no clear sign that says “The Halcyon”. So to anyone to follow in our steps, this is honestly a beautiful place to stay. Excellent value for money away from the noise of the town centre, wonderful hospitable staff for a lovely guest experience, delightful & scrumptious brekkie, cosy and clean modernistic rooms & gorgeous views to wake up to. No hassle checking in or out. Just be mindful to look out for the big words that says “HOTEL” and you’re very likely at the right spot. (Checkout photos 1&2) Walk in without fear and be greeted by warm smiles and a fantastic experience all around."

My husband and i had a nice stay. Perfect location as only accross the road to the theatre where we went that evening. Toiletries/Tea & Coffee available in room. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a great location, about 12 minutes walk from the train station. The guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic and patient. It was already evening when we arrived. He still introduced us bit by bit. And the hotel is pet-friendly, and I saw a lot of cute dogs! !

Avoid this place at all costs. The manager is shockingly rude and treats guests with utter disrespect—zero sense of customer service. The mattress was horrendous, like sleeping on springs. This is not a restful stay but a regrettable experience. Eastbourne has better options—don’t waste your money here.

Overall, it was a really good experience. The staff were really nice, and the location was great. The only downside was that there was no air conditioning, and opening the window gets the bugs in. The walls weren’t soundproof either, so I was woken by the neighbours chatting and laughing at 4 am.

The room had a traditional feel, with a key-operated door. The location was excellent, right opposite the pier with views of the English Channel. Bus route 12, which goes to the White Cliffs, was conveniently located nearby. **Hotel Location:** A 1km walk from Eastbourne train station. **Around the Hotel:** Plenty of dining options.

Downside was the size of the room, basically just big enough for a double bed and thats it, it was also very very hot in the room with no fan and a tiny window which barely let a breeze in also the bed wasn't very thick you could feel and hear the springs. TV was very small too, if we'd just been staying 1 or 2 nights I feel we wouldn't of minded too much but for a 4 night stay and the cost as well I expected it to be alot nicer. The towels were changed regularly though and it was very clean, staff were also very accommodating so can't fault them.

The location was very good, with convenient access to the seaside. The cleanliness of both the room and communal areas was acceptable. However, the staff availability and overall welcome were not satisfactory. I was not informed either at the time of booking or during check-in that I needed to notify the staff if I intended to return to the hotel after midnight. On the second night of my stay, I returned after midnight but found the entrance door closed. I tried knocking for around 30 minutes and repeatedly attempted to contact reception, but the reception phone number was not answered. As I was unable to gain access, I eventually had to contact my friend and stay at their accommodation overnight. This was very inconvenient and disappointing, and I believe guests should be clearly informed of the property's late-night access arrangements at the time of booking or check-in.

Everything I needed for an easy and comfortable stopover for work. Friendly welcome, comfy bed, clean room, decent shower for a very reasonable price. Location wasn’t particularly important as I arrived late and left early, but the Majestic is right on the seafront, perfectly placed for the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel bar looked nice but it was just a bed for the night on this occasion. Would certainly stay again. Thanks to staff.

Main reason booked was close to the event attending and also had lifts. When arrived they couldn’t find booking had to show confirmation. One lift was broken but had another so wasn’t too bad. When we came back later found the second lift wasn’t working either. Not good if you have health issues. Finally made it back to room to find no toilet roll in bathroom, tried to find a number to call the reception but it took half hour of googling to find one as the one listed on booking is for another hotel. Finally got through and toilet roll delivered. Room itself was clean but dated.

Informed hotel twice via trip that I would have to cancel and queried cancellation costs. Received no response so emailed direct. Yet again no response. Received a missed call on the evening I was supposed to have been there and then generic emails the next day informing me of check out time and then one hoping I'd enjoyed my stay! Absolute shambles regarding communication which made me glad I cancelled.
