Amazing
GGuest UserI have to be honest, this hostel is one of the best that you can find with this modest price, but excellent services.
First enter, the counter was having a good chat with a chinese, teen girl who traveled alone in Malaysia. The counter, who is a girl immediately served me as I wanted to place my luggage here before exploring Ipoh .
When i check in, around 2pm, (yeah i can check in before 3pm, this is a life saver), an uncle, who served me with care and gave me a tour with their amenities.
The amenities were amazing. You can play guitar if you do as they provided at the resting area. You can have a relaxing, comforting hot bath with shampoo and body wash provided. The pillows and bed were cozy...
The only thing i am unsatisfied is the attitude of the chinese traveler who sleeps beside me. I can hesr his whispers, saying rude words in chinese (maybe he is having a bad time in Ipoh i guess).
The rest, is awesome. If you are looking for a cozy place to stay with home's warmth and modest price, Miner's house is for you.
GGuest UserGreat hostel! Good shower pressure, clean dorms and toilets. Spacious and fresh smelling beds lots of power sockets available in your capsule.
10 mins walk away from old town which can feel longer because it’s so hot outside but you can rent motorbike to go to Gunung Park and temples nearby.
Free breakfast is amazing! Cereal, milk, coffee and bread. Lovely staff and very nice. Check in process was quick and easy especially as I arrived late
CCHEWLocation was great and within 10 mins drive to all the popular eating shops and 15 mins to shopping area of Ipoh city centre. Free car park helps a lot and we enjoyed the rooftop swimming pool with nice aerial view of the mountains at the background. Host was responsive as they only had 3 mugs for our booking for 6 people. When we requested for more, it was brought to us quite promptly. Except for the kitchen and dining area which is a little cramped and a huge stain mark on the kitchen flooring area, it was perfect as the place was clean.
GGuest UserI love the interior and the colour .So clean and nice. Lovely.close to town area. The gym dont have air condition but using fans .Pool was good. .Easy to access
GGuest UserI liked this hotel. There is daily cleaning ( which is unusual for budget friendly hotels in Malaysia), water, tea and coffee were refilled every day ( but upon check in I found only sugar and coffee creamer without tea or coffee). There is a kettle and a mini fridge. An iron and ironing board were provided on request. I like that the shower is separated by a glass partition, so the floor doesn't get wet, a hair dryer and toiletries are provided. There is a safe. My room was big but standard rooms are not big, Soundproofing can be improved, I could hear every sound from the corridor. There was a bit of chemical smell in the corridor. There is a 7/11 next door, KFC and Pizza Hut on the opposite side of the road, the central market is nearby. The main landmarks are about 10-15 minutes walk.
GGuest UserThe bed make sounds and water heater is leaking. It was noisy outside since facing empty field, the sound from crickets and frogs. My night is restless.
LLShannonWe travelled in a group of 3 female friends. I have to say I booked this place due to its industrial themed rooms. It's definitely nostalgic and rustic but the cleanliness is still very much up to standard. We even had a balcony and managed to catch a glimpse of fireworks in a distance. In the morning, we caught the sunrise as well. It's beautiful.
The location is best! 👍🏼 it's just next to the famous Thean Chun Coffeeshop, where you get to eat shredded chicken noodles, popiah, asam laksa, Satay, char kway teow.
Will definitely recommend this place to others.
The only one thing is u will need a little patience when it comes to service. The staff left us standing aimlessly where she went up to the room.
NNajwaI felt that this is the worst hotel i’ve ever been. I paid RM100 for such a small room.
Not functioning aircond. The aircond keep on off after 30 mins or so. And I need to turn it on everytime. I was already so tired travelling from Selangor to Perak. Too tired to wake up from the bed and need to face such problem. The hotel services crew should have check every room air-conditioning function before sell it out to customer. I would have go to cheaper hotel with better environment and space. Just the receiptionist has been treat us well.
Price wise, it doesn’t worth every penny. Uncomfortable room. And hear knocking on the wall from different room. And i can hear people outside talking.
The location of the hotel is okay. Nearby to some tourist attraction spot.
I hope the owner can compensate us for such uncomfortable stay. We sleep in sweat! Keep on waking up. The only reason we people want to stay hotel is to sleep comfortably and rest peacefully. And I couldn’t get both from this hotel. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
