Amazing
GGuest UserI have to be honest, this hostel is one of the best that you can find with this modest price, but excellent services.
First enter, the counter was having a good chat with a chinese, teen girl who traveled alone in Malaysia. The counter, who is a girl immediately served me as I wanted to place my luggage here before exploring Ipoh .
When i check in, around 2pm, (yeah i can check in before 3pm, this is a life saver), an uncle, who served me with care and gave me a tour with their amenities.
The amenities were amazing. You can play guitar if you do as they provided at the resting area. You can have a relaxing, comforting hot bath with shampoo and body wash provided. The pillows and bed were cozy...
The only thing i am unsatisfied is the attitude of the chinese traveler who sleeps beside me. I can hesr his whispers, saying rude words in chinese (maybe he is having a bad time in Ipoh i guess).
The rest, is awesome. If you are looking for a cozy place to stay with home's warmth and modest price, Miner's house is for you.
NNuraz.digitalThis place was available on our unplanned trip and i am beyond grateful especially the cleanliness. Self checked in. Clean and homey. Pretty cozy. Room was decent perfect for a one night stay. Overall is good. Thank you.
CCelastine Tan Pei SzeI found this place through Xiaohongshu and decided to give it a try. Personally, I feel it might be a little overrated. We chose the room type on the lower floor, and the room felt quite small. For a similar price, there may be other options that offer more space.
I also noticed quite a bit of dust in different areas of the room. As someone with a sensitive nose, it wasn’t very friendly for me as I kept sneezing during the stay.
The bathroom was fine when it was dry and there wasn’t much smell. However, after taking a shower, there was quite a strong odor that became noticeable and a little uncomfortable.
The small courtyard area is nice for photos, but there were ants and quite a lot of spider webs, which made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time.
On the positive side, the dessert and breakfast were very nice. The breakfast portion was generous and the welcome dessert was also lovely.
Overall, I hope more attention can be given to cleanliness and maintenance, as it would definitely improve the experience.
Nnurul emmaLocation is surrounding with lot of restaurants.only took 5-7 min to Aquatic centre. There is washer in the unit but no hanger or place to hang the clothes. Overall is ok
SSarah RangkutiMe and my cousin had a pleasant stay here. The receptionist is very friendly and kind, she recommended us the famous local food (hainan chicken rice) and addressed any of our questions. Though the hotel and room interior is a bit old, but it’s clean & the bathroom is spacious, i think they just renovated it. The hotel is strategic and walking distance to Gerbang Malam.
LLShannonWe travelled in a group of 3 female friends. I have to say I booked this place due to its industrial themed rooms. It's definitely nostalgic and rustic but the cleanliness is still very much up to standard. We even had a balcony and managed to catch a glimpse of fireworks in a distance. In the morning, we caught the sunrise as well. It's beautiful.
The location is best! 👍🏼 it's just next to the famous Thean Chun Coffeeshop, where you get to eat shredded chicken noodles, popiah, asam laksa, Satay, char kway teow.
Will definitely recommend this place to others.
The only one thing is u will need a little patience when it comes to service. The staff left us standing aimlessly where she went up to the room.
EemisueStayed there after a long and exhausting event. I chose it primarily as a place to shower, rest, sleep and write some reports, and it served that purpose well.
Booking was a breeze, and the hotel is very easy to locate. They use a self-check-in kiosk which is quite straightforward, but the staff didn't hesitate to step in and assist when needed. I stayed in a no window room. Because there’s no window, there was a slightly damp smell when I first walked in. Luckily, I brought my own room spray, so it wasn't an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. The air conditioning isn't incredibly strong. If you prefer a freezing room, you might struggle, but as someone who isn't a huge fan of intense AC, it was perfectly acceptable to me. Also, the floors are mosaic tiles (no carpet), so I highly recommend bringing your own indoor slippers.
On the bright side, the water pressure and hot water in the shower were excellent. There were also more than enough electrical sockets for two people to charge their devices. I didn't use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on that. There are water dispenser and iron with board at the corridor on my floor (3rd floor)
While the hotel is surrounded by plenty of local restaurants, I opted to order GrabFood because I was too tired. It was super easy, I just asked the rider to leave the food at the lobby.
Service: The staff on both the day and night shifts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They genuinely made the place feel welcoming, almost like home.
Important Tip on Deposit: Make sure to bring RM50 cash for the security deposit. You can use a card, but the reception mentioned it takes a few days for the bank to release the refund, so cash is much more convenient. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills hotel. If you just need a budget-friendly place to crash after a tiring day, it does the job. Thank you to the kind staff for looking after me!
NNajwaI felt that this is the worst hotel i’ve ever been. I paid RM100 for such a small room.
Not functioning aircond. The aircond keep on off after 30 mins or so. And I need to turn it on everytime. I was already so tired travelling from Selangor to Perak. Too tired to wake up from the bed and need to face such problem. The hotel services crew should have check every room air-conditioning function before sell it out to customer. I would have go to cheaper hotel with better environment and space. Just the receiptionist has been treat us well.
Price wise, it doesn’t worth every penny. Uncomfortable room. And hear knocking on the wall from different room. And i can hear people outside talking.
The location of the hotel is okay. Nearby to some tourist attraction spot.
I hope the owner can compensate us for such uncomfortable stay. We sleep in sweat! Keep on waking up. The only reason we people want to stay hotel is to sleep comfortably and rest peacefully. And I couldn’t get both from this hotel. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
