"I can't believe I got a loft suite for around 200 yuan! Chongqing prices are truly budget-friendly. The duvet was incredibly clean, smelling fresh and fluffy – the housekeeping clearly did a wonderful job. You can even see the river and the city from the loft. I'd strongly suggest the hotel replace the toothbrushes though, the old ones were a bit splayed out."

"Hotel location is excellent, close to all attractions. The reception is very responsive and helpful via WeChat. They do not speak English.
Please note the breakfast is not a buffet type. It includes only noodles and dumplings. We went to a cafe called Bowltai nearby for a western type breakfast .
The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Bed is firm and supportive for the spine.
Take the right side elevator in the lobby to the 52 floor. The view is great."

"I've been to Chongqing many times, but this was my first stay at a Kempinski. I'd seen on Trip.com that the hotel opened in 2012, so I assumed the facilities and decor might be a bit outdated. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite being open for 14 years, this Kempinski is still exceptionally well-maintained. The original construction materials and furnishings were clearly high-quality, luxury items, so overall, aside from the slightly older design and decor style, everything else was unexpectedly good. This includes the dining options – whether it was Elements Western Restaurant, the Beer Bar, or the Executive Lounge, the food quality was impressive. The desserts and bread, in particular, truly showcased the essence of German culinary excellence. Of course, as a boutique hotel under the GHA DISCOVERY alliance, what truly impressed me most was the service. From the welcoming attitude of the staff to the efficiency of the management team in resolving issues, it truly lives up to Kempinski's reputation as a European hotel aristocrat. Special thanks to the hotel management and operations teams for their meticulous care and excellent service during my stay. Employees like Wilson, the Director of Rooms, Paul, the Guest Services Manager, and Lucy, the Executive Lounge intern, all deserve special recognition!"

WWangyixiongLocated under the Jialing River and Yangtze River Bridge in Yuzhong District, Shushan Hotel is not far from the Hongya Cave and Jiefangbei area, yet maintains a peaceful distance from the hustle and bustle.
The hotel comprises several low-rise buildings, which staff informed me used to be General Chen Cheng's residence. It's situated at the exit of a tunnel. You park at the bottom of the hill and take two separate elevators up to the reception center.
The overall vibe of the hotel is very chill. Ancient trees soar overhead, and the observation decks are thoughtfully integrated into the natural surroundings, offering views of Chongqing's nightscape amidst lush greenery. The hotel also has its own independent coffee shop, serving coffee and simple desserts. I could easily spend half a day lounging on a beanbag chair on the observation deck with a coffee.
The staff provide warm and attentive service. I arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night, just before the May Day holiday, and a hotel attendant warmly greeted me at the tunnel entrance, guiding me all the way. Any small issues that arose were quickly resolved.
The hotel also provided several well-planned city walk routes starting from the property.
I rarely book guesthouses and used to have some preconceived notions about them – I can be a bit of a mean girl, after all. But I honestly feel like I could stay at Shushan Hotel a million more times.

BBoboboYFacilities: The hotel facilities are excellent, and the rooms are well-equipped, primarily focusing on hot springs. The water quality is very good, and you can adjust the hot spring temperature yourself. You can soak 24 hours a day, and privacy is also good. After soaking, you can also enjoy a massage or spa.
Hygiene: Everything was very clean. The villa renovation was well done.
Environment: The overall hotel environment is great, with duplex rooms. The surrounding area has complete amenities and is a small commercial district, so delivery services are very convenient. The only slight drawback is the soundproofing; you can hear people moving up and down the stairs next door.
Service: The service is excellent; they are very responsive and always help guests with any issues. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

DDaiwazhubianzhongguoI never expected to find such a warm and inviting hotel hidden away in Ciqikou Ancient Town.
Traveling with kids, finding the right room type is always a headache, but the family room we booked this time was perfect – the beds were big enough, the space was generous, and my child didn't want to get out of the bathtub. Even better, you can take a taxi directly to the main entrance, and there's an underground parking lot too. It's so convenient, it hardly feels like you're in an ancient town.
In the center of the courtyard is a pavilion, surrounded by small stools. When the fire was lit, a singer played guitar in the pavilion. I sat by the fire with a craft beer in hand, feeling the warmth on my face, and my mind just emptied – I wasn't thinking about anything, just the crackling of the firewood. In that moment, it felt like I was sitting in an old courtyard deep in the mountains, where time slowed down enough to hear my own heartbeat. Xiao Qing and Xiao Tuo at the front desk were also very attentive, reminding us about the fire and singing in the evening when we checked in.
The hotel is called 'Yueyin Chongqing Courtyard', and it's such a fitting name. It truly feels like a hidden courtyard in the city, full of life and human touch.
Next time I come to Chongqing, I'll probably detour here just for this fire again.

As someone who travels globally for business and frequently stays at InterContinental hotels, I recently returned from an InterContinental in Brazil, and honestly, there's no comparison – this Chongqing location is in a league of its own. The night view is absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing, making it perfect for a travel stay. They provided a lovely welcome fruit platter and tea, and the fridge was well-stocked with drinks and snacks, including white wine! The hotel is conveniently located by the river, very close to popular attractions like Qianximen.

GGuest UserFor my trip to Chongqing, I specifically booked the Niccolo's Deluxe River View King Room, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. As a luxury hotel rooted high up in the IFS, this room perfectly embodies the unique sky-high romance of the mountain city.
The room itself is a generous 52 square meters, designed with a minimalist yet sophisticated grey, white, and gold palette. There are no superfluous or cluttered decorations; instead, metallic lines and soft lighting complement each other. Art pieces strategically placed throughout create a rich and elegant atmosphere. Stepping into the room instantly relieved the fatigue of travel.
The full-panel panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows are undoubtedly the room's biggest highlight. With a 270-degree unobstructed view, you can lie in bed and directly face the magnificent confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Raffles City Chongqing, Qiansimen Bridge, and the Hongya Cave complex are all arranged within sight. During the day, a thin mist shrouds the river, and the stacked buildings showcase the three-dimensional beauty of the mountain city. As night falls, the city's neon lights gradually illuminate, and the illuminated tour boats and the bridge lights intertwine to form a flowing river of stars – no filters needed for any photos you take.
A soft leisure sofa by the window invites you to sit back and watch the sunset, creating a wonderfully ambient mood. The marble bathtub by the window in the bathroom is another exquisite touch; while soaking, you can look up and admire the panoramic night view. Paired with the hotel's standard high-end Italian bath amenities, the soothing and healing fragrance elevates the sense of comfort to the fullest.
The bedding, made from high-thread-count knitted fabric, feels soft and plush, allowing for quick relaxation and sleep. The smart home control system is convenient and hassle-free, with one-touch control for curtains, lights, and room temperature – a truly thoughtful detail.
The hotel service is meticulous and attentive. The staff at check-in were gentle and explained the room facilities proactively. Turndown service was thoughtfully prepared, and the mini-bar was fully stocked. Being located downstairs from the IFS commercial district made going out for shopping incredibly convenient.
The only slight regret is that Hongya Cave is slightly obstructed from certain angles, but this absolutely does not diminish the overall viewing experience. Whether you're here specifically to experience the mountain city's night view or for a leisurely stay, this Deluxe River View King Room is definitely a worthwhile choice. Even after leaving, the cloud-high river view remains unforgettable.

It's a must-visit, especially for the ancient North Hot Springs, which is surrounded by lush greenery and a thousand-year-old hot spring temple. It offers a very serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind. The private hot spring on the room's balcony is incredibly comfortable and great for alleviating fatigue. Owen provided exceptional service. The hotel's design is very distinctive, with every room offering views of the Jialing River.

GGuest UserWe chose W for our Children's Day trip to Chongqing with our kids and parents. This is our third time staying at a W hotel. We arrived quite late, but check-in was quick. We also added Vivi, our hotel concierge, on WeChat. Vivi was incredibly attentive and responsible. On our first day, I noticed dust on the makeup mirror, and Vivi immediately had housekeeping meticulously re-clean the room, even asking if we were satisfied afterwards. She also prepared a wonderful Children's Day gift bag for the kids. We hope to stay at W again when we next visit Chongqing! Thumbs up for Vivi! 👍

I saw all the positive reviews in the comments section showing pictures of the front desk view and thought they might be fake, which made me a bit worried when checking in. But to my surprise, the room I was assigned was actually really good. The bedding and linens felt new and fresh, and the cleanliness was also fine. The only minor downside was that the laundry bags felt a bit low quality. Overall, it's an excellent stay. It would be even better if the two elevators could be linked together for faster service.

GGuest UserI wanted a quieter hotel and ended up choosing the Marriott. It's definitely much quieter than the bustling downtown area of Yuzhong. The hotel is a bit older, so the facilities are a little dated, but the room we stayed in was well-maintained. The breakfast is great for those who don't eat spicy food, and the *xiaomian* (noodles) were delicious! I especially loved their homemade chili oil – a spoonful in the noodles made them fragrant without being too spicy. In the evening, you can go up to the observation deck to see the night view, with the neon lights of both banks stretching out before you.
