Herriots Hotel
8.6 (103 reviews)

Herriots Hotel ★★★★

📍 Broughton Rd, Skipton

"We like that it is 2min walk from the train station and the Leeds-Liverpool canals are behind the hotel. It was relaxing walking by the canal to the town centre. The breakfast was substantial. The staff was helpful; they served with a smiling face."

The Woolly Sheep Inn

The Plough ★★★★

📍 Jack Ln, Skipton, Wigglesworth

"The Plough was excellent, the staff the food and the room. They could not do enough for us. I would recommend this place to anyone."

YHA Malham
8.5 (19 reviews)

YHA Malham ★★★★

📍 Malham, Malham

"This is classic YHA set in a lovely honey pot village, with private rooms and dorms. Self catering kitchen, all very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Would recommend. Not related direct to this YHA but they use dynamic room prices, which just puts you off. There is a drying room and cycle shed. Would highly recommend"

Green Grove Country House
9.9 (64 reviews)

Green Grove Country House ★★★★

📍 Nr Skipton, Bell Busk

"Fantastic find so a bit reluctant to share! Such a beautiful relaxing property, the hosts Keith and Zoe are amazing, the property is clean and so welcoming, wonderfully tasty cup cakes on arrival, yummy! Breakfast is cooked on the Aga and all dietary requirements if given in advance are met. The best Yorkshire full fry ever!! If your into berries, cereals and yoghurt they are also available. All whilst being able to see all around you great Yorkshire countryside views. Love this hideaway."

Travelodge Skipton
8.3 (43 reviews)

Travelodge Skipton ★★★

📍 Gargrave Road A65 / A59 Roundabout, Stirton with Thorlby

"Skipton Travelodge is the perfect location for our working weekend at Skipton Auction Mart. The small hotel is quiet, despite some road noise, and suitable for much needed rest. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We book many months ahead to secure the room and stay twice each year."

The Lister Arms
9.1 (95 reviews)

The Lister Arms ★★★★

📍 Lister arms, Skipton, Malham

"Very, very nice country hotel. The accommodation is comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Insufficient: 1. The electric kettle is made of plastic rather than stainless steel. 2. We ate three breakfasts, maybe the chef made different breakfast standards are also different: the first day, enough; The second and three days, the amount was halved, my husband ordered a "full set of English breakfast" and I ordered "smoked salmon eggs", "smoked salmon eggs", bread, eggs, salmon from two to one."

Green Grove Country House ★★★★
"Green Grove is in a perfect setting on a single track road and fields around, we stayed in the Whafe Dale room which was perfect, 2 homemade cakes greeted us in the fridge upon our arrival. The bed is so comfy and I slept really well, this is our 3rd visit we stayed during covid so it was nice to go back again. Zoe & Keith are fantastic hosts from the moment you check in until you check out. Breakfast is fab and you never leave hungry, I can definitely recommend Keith's porridge! We hope to return again soon."

Premier Inn Skipton North (Gargrave) ★★★
"Stay was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Stayed with my son who is autistic and doesn’t cope well with unforeseen changes to routine and any problems that occur. That’s exactly what happened from arrival. I checked in to find my son’s sofa bed was not made up and had to go back to reception to request this but had to go for a walk in the meantime. We had a meal deal for dinner and breakfast. When returning to the hotel a couple of other customers had been complaining about the lack of options on the menu and that they should have been made aware of it. When I checked with the restaurant staff they said this was now back to normal as there had just been too many people. Surely you either have the items or you don’t? It then became apparent that there were only 3 members of staff, 1 in the kitchen, 1 waiting and 1 receptionist for the hotel also helping out in the restaurant due to it being a bank holiday they must have being paying enhanced rates. After waiting 15 minutes to order, we then waited over an hour without any food. I then asked what the issue was. The waiter returned a few minutes later and told me it would be a few minutes. 10 minutes later I was served a burger that was raw on the inside. Obviously our order hadn’t been prepared and I returned this, finally getting a replacement about another 10 minutes later by which time my son had finished his meal. Another 15 minutes later deserts finally arrived but by this point I had been ready to just walk out. Other customers had been complaining and had similar wait times. Breakfast the following morning was an improvement but I noticed at least 6 staff on shift which is likely why given they were back to standard rates of pay. After my stay I followed up with a complaint to guest relations and although they acknowledged everything I’d said basically tried to fob me off and said they couldn’t offer a refund. After pushing back I was offered a refund on the meals as a gesture of goodwill which is the least they could do given the experience. The fact I had to push them into that doesn’t bode well for their customer service if anything else was to go wrong and as such I cancelled a future booking with Premier Inn and won’t be using them again. My recommendation would be if you do have to stay here do not eat in the restaurant and do not commit to the meal deal in advance."
