I recently stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for four nights and had a great overall experience. 
The hotel's location is great as it is situated at an area less crowded with tourists, yet still very convenient. It’s within walking distance of several subway stations, with plenty of eateries and a convenience store at level 1 of the building.

The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. It did get a bit warm in the afternoons, but fortunately, it cooled down by night thanks to the pleasant weather during my stay. One area for improvement would be the lighting near the level 1 lift area—it felt too dim and could benefit from better illumination.

That said, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in a less busy part of Seoul.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay here with my senior parents. We loved the amenities of the bathroom. The toilet came with japanese functions and it was useful for my parents. The location was near the guro digital complex station. It is not in the center of the touristy spots but being on the green line is convenient enough to bring you to most places. We loved the surrounding areas which had a wide selection of food places and they were generally affordable and of great quality. A few misses for us were the lack of ceramic mugs to hold hot water. Instead, they had given us paper cups on the first night but you would have to request if you like them to be replenished. The description of the room amenities and layout in trip.com were not accurate with the room that we were assigned to. Our room was supposed to come with a sofa but it did not come with it. They also requested for a credit card to be put on hold in case of damages. For this requirement, it is not stated upon booking with trip.com that this was needed. The staff noted our feedback but there wasn't much they could do about it. This would be a good place to stay if you do not mind traveling a little further to touristy spots.

The room amenities are great. The hotel gym is also excellent, located on the 26th floor. The hotel boasts a fantastic location, with the subway entrance right downstairs and taxis readily available. There's also a delicious Seolleongtang restaurant directly opposite the hotel that's definitely worth trying.

The location is pretty convenient. It is close to all the locations in gangnam. There is a small parking lot in the back, so it is pretty easy to arrange transport.

I had an incredible stay at Shilla Stay. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I didn’t have an adapter for Korea, and they kindly lent me one to use, which I really appreciated. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The hotel is in a great location, not too far from Myeong-dong, right next to a subway station, and surrounded by convenience stores and food spots. I had dinner at the hotel lounge and bar, and the food was pretty good too. Everyone I interacted with, from check-in to check-out, was so nice. The view from my room was beautiful, especially at night. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

Nice hotel, close to COEX. The Main Street is under construction, the first night was extremely bad. The A/C didn’t work, either OFF and very cold or window open and trying to get the heating system down to 27-28 degree. After some argue, I got a room on the opposite site, which had comfortable 24 degree and no construction noise. Overall, a nice hotel. An advice, try to get a high floor and away from the main road, where a tunnel is under construction.

This hotel has a very committed staff that helps with whatever you need. However, some issues were less accommodating.. 

I was a bit disappointed that they couldn’t refund the breakfast purchased through trip.com after learning my sister could not enjoy it due to an unexpected liquid diet due to surgery.

Initially , I reserved a room with a bathtub, but they said they had no availability upon checking in and gave us a different room than what I had reserved. 

That was kind of disappointing since the room with the bathtub was slightly bigger. 

It was a bit hectic to move the room 2 days into our 10-day stay. It felt like the value of our stay was cheated in that case.

The location of the property is good, and room is functional enough though a bit small. 

Bearing the Shilla brand I would expect the property to provide more/better amenties and better maintained. The property condition is not great. Breakfast is so so and I should have booked the room without breakfast as there are plenty of eatery around.

Overall I wouldn‘t stay here again. Doesn’t worth the price and definitely nothing closes to a “real” Shilla.

The hotel room was amazing. Clean and super spacious. The bed was very comfortable and everything was great. It has a plus point that there’s a convenience store on the first floor.

However, I was surprised that we have to pay 30,000 krw per person for the usage of swimming pool and when we requested for some items to the reception we had to walk down to the reception.

However, the room itself, I was very happy with the stay.

The service was great. The lobby was clean, well-maintained, and quite spacious. We booked a family twin room with two beds, one large and one small, which was perfect for three people. Disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, and cups were provided, making it feel very hygienic. The room also had a refrigerator and a safe. The hotel is conveniently located diagonally opposite Baojian Road and is very close to the duty-free store. The only slight drawback was that the soundproofing in the street-facing rooms was just average.

This hotel is newly opened and absolutely beautiful. The temperature was a pleasant 25 degrees Celsius these past few days. The hotel pool features a hot spring, which was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's 'Waveless' tea restaurant boasts stunning golden decor. We checked into a sea-view room, and the view from the window was breathtaking. This morning, we even witnessed some Ama divers (sea women) at work.
