This place was just beautiful. Large spacious bathroom with TV in bathtub. Lovely little balcony. So clean and best of all it smelt really fresh all the time. It looks old and stately and that only gives it charm. We walked to the pedestrian street and the Bund. We went to the mall a lot across the street. So convenient near the metro as well. We were really happy with the setvice from all of the staff very friendly. We loved our stay and were very sad to leave.

The hotel is very beautiful. It’s newly renovated even it’s over 90 years old. The design is amazingly neat of the 1930’s atmosphere. Everything is decorated in detail. The rooms is clean and new. The bathroom is huge. The bath tub is beautiful. The toilet is equipped with automatic bidet. My family enjoys every moment here. The staff are all polite and helpful. The front desk staff can speak English very well. The housekeeping ladies and men are polite and kind even they don’t speak English. We didn’t have time for afternoon tea on any day while staying here as our schedules were full of activities outside the city but the staff gave us the take away boxes of after tea set before leaving the hotel after check out. We have a great experience here of 5 star services.

Back in Shanghai, staying once again at the Yangtze Boutique Hotel Shanghai Same old place, same familiar charm. Stepping into the Yangtze Boutique Hotel feels like traveling back to 1930s Shanghai — the mahogany spiral staircase, brass elevator doors, and glimmering glass chandeliers all shine with the glow of a bygone era. Everything feels so familiar and comforting. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world, but every return visit here reminds me: Shanghai is not just about skyscrapers and cutting-edge trends — it also holds a delicate old-world charm and countless untold stories. Outside the window, the city bustles with traffic; inside, there’s a sense of serenity. The city keeps changing, but my affection for old Shanghai remains unchanged.

Nothing more to say this is a must try hotel in Shanghai city. We moved to the rose suite and the experience was fantastic. The service was great and the location is perfect like right in the middle of the city, definitely will book again next time when I’m in Shanghai.

This is a really nice hotel. It is in a perfect location for the metro and nanjing street. You can walk to the bund from here. There are lots of shops and restaurants around the hotel. The service at the hotel is excellent 👌.

Very lovely old hotel built in the 1930's. The welcome is warm and friendly, with a smooth check-in. The room was a great size and the bed very comfortable. Location wise, the hotel is very close to the Nanjing road and easy to get around the city on foot or metro. When I asked for a recommendation for a cocktail bar, there was a bit of a language barrier. I discovered a lovely little place on my own not too far from the hotel.

What a beautiful hotel! Everything was so cozy and modern. Easy to get to subway and to all the sights you want to see.

Very central hotel close to shopping malls, the subway and the Bund. Room was perfect; clean spacious and had a great view from our cute balcony. The service was ok. The staff did their job but we don’t feel anyone went ‘above and beyond’ like they do in other hotels that we have stayed at (just a personal opinion and perhaps we have been spoilt in other locations). Afternoon tea was good. Breakfast was so so but they did make a bowl of noodles.

Able to see that hotel is slightly rundown but it just add to the part of vintage look. Very spacious area, separate bathtub, shower and toilet area. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist and I have TB parcels sent over which they will help to receive. Area is near nanjing road and metro exit is right across the road. No issues getting around.

This is a very good hotel opposite MRT people square exit 14 but has no elevator so if you have big or large luggage you need to walk up the stairs. The rooms are very clean and housekeeping changes the bed sheet everyday. The front speaks English and they are really helpful. The mini bars are all free everyday. Every room has a bathtub and the shower is in the middle of the bathtub on top of the ceiling.

Best location for shopping at nanjing pedestrian street. Hotel was very beautiful and clean with a vintage touch. Staff was super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Will definitely book again.

This hotel was perfect for our short stay in Shanghai.  It is located across the road from the Metro - People’s Park station- Line 2 - exit 14.  Very convenient for getting around the city and getting to the airport.   The hotel is lovely, art deco, very clean and friendly staff.  We will definitely stay there again if in Shanghai.
