Hotel Stoffels ★★★
"We came here to eat and could be out on the terrace, very good service, we went for the slice and Wild goulash, both large portions. We give both dishes a 7 because the cut was hard here and there and in the goulash was a few lakes and not malt sticks. Glow was good and filled. Naked ice with hot cherries. Good. It's a very cool place to explode for drink and drink."
Hotel Deimann ★★★★★
"Top hotel! Highly recommended. Fantastic, attentive hosts! Wonderful location, sensational wellness and spa area! A breakfast buffet that is second to none! Nothing is left to be desired. Excellent menus, including a great selection of vegetarian dishes. Friendly, competent staff. The entire hotel is in very good condition! Highly recommended without reservation. We will be back!"
Hotel Stockhausen ★★★★
Hotel Hanses-Bräutigam ★★★
Romantik Hotel Störmann ★★★★
Hotel Jagdhaus Wiese ★★★★
"We now have visited this hotel 13 times in the past 6 years. That should tell you everything. From the very first time it has been a true gem, a paradise to stay. Having visited many hotels over the world , nowhere did we find this atmosphere, this service. Family-run for years you feel the love and dedication of all people involved to make your stay optimal to your personal preferences. Surrounded by the woods the hotel itself is located in a beautiful park with meticulously kept flowerbeds , and is a very well thought of combination of new and older architecture. Several terasses, an intimate wellness area, exclusive rooms with a view at the park, and a great breakfast and diner. But most of all it is the great service , the warm welcome that is expressed by the couple that owns the hotel and by the staff. It all may sound as to good to be true and for us it is, but apparently not only for us as we met several guests who also visit Jagdhaus Wiese several times a year with their children, their parents , friends or just alone ."
Sauerland Alpin Hotel ★★★
"The hotel's motto is: "Where simplicity is special." Unfortunately, this statement accurately reflects the state of the building – and not in a positive way. Simplicity is perfectly fine, but there's a significant difference between deliberately understated furnishings and a hotel that hasn't been modernized in years. The entire building appears quite dated and worn in many places. In our first room, the wallpaper was already peeling off the wall. After changing rooms, we discovered that the window in the second room couldn't even be tilted open, making proper ventilation impossible. Both rooms had very old carpeting that was in dire need of cleaning. The bathrooms appear to be in their original condition. Sanitary ware and fixtures show clear signs of wear and tear and are in dire need of replacement. Overall, the hotel gives the impression of significant neglect. The food was adequate, but don't expect exceptional quality or culinary highlights. Much of it seemed more like convenience food than freshly prepared dishes. On the positive side, we'd like to highlight the pleasant size of the pool and the comfortable mattress. Ultimately, the quality of our stay was not sufficient. For this reason, we left a day earlier than planned. In our opinion, the hotel has great potential – however, a comprehensive renovation of the rooms and bathrooms, as well as a fundamental modernization, is urgently needed."
Berghotel Hoher Knochen ★★★★
"We had Suite 98. Wonderful view of the landscape. However, a few of the balcony tiles were wobbly and a tripping hazard. The rooms were OK, but could use a paint job. We were only able to book half-board. Breakfast was adequate. The coffee was delicious. Dinner wasn't to my taste. There were three dishes to choose from. Unfortunately, the dishes were only served lukewarm. Despite requests for the food to be served hotter, I didn't notice any improvement. I suspect the food was pre-cooked and only heated up for eating. A big minus for me. The small sauna area had a sauna and an inhalation cabin. The swimming pool was too cold in my opinion. My husband and I couldn't make it in because of the cold water. We ended up just using the whirlpool. We paid more than €350 per night for the booking and find the price/performance ratio too high. The hotel's four stars are also unjustified. The hotel's biggest plus points are the view and the truly friendly staff."
Landhotel Albers ★★★
"The bed was comfortable and made daily, though nothing special. The room’s furnishings were adequate, and it was well-ventilated and stayed cool despite the heat and lack of air conditioning. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a concern. The floors were not vacuumed, and the bathroom often smelled musty due to water leaking from a poorly closing shower. This also caused water damage on the bathroom door, which added to the unpleasant experience. While the room was otherwise comfortable, these maintenance and hygiene issues significantly affected our stay. The staff were often unfriendly and seemed reluctant to assist us. Upon arrival, we were wrongly blamed for not printing our voucher, even though the confirmation email explicitly stated that this was unnecessary. While the check-in process itself was quick once the voucher was emailed, the initial impression was off-putting. During meals, the service felt rushed and inattentive. Bread that our children had started eating at breakfast was charged to our account, without any prior warning. We also felt constantly monitored, and staff often placed dishes on the table before we had time to clear or arrange it properly. The coffee machine remained broken for several days, which was frustrating. Overall, the staff’s approach made us feel unwelcome and reluctant to stay in the hotel. The food was tasty and plentiful. However, there were limited options for children, and vegetables were not always available. While the quality of the meals was good, the lack of flexibility for children was disappointing. Although the surrounding area is very beautiful and added some enjoyment to our stay, our experience at the hotel itself was disappointing. The facilities were adequate, the room acceptable, and the food good, but recurring issues with staff behavior, room cleanliness, and maintenance overshadowed the positive aspects."
