Sanya Hotels with Pools

We were guests in this hotel for the third time. We were left with wonderful impressions and that is why we chose it again. And we are delighted again! The hotel is in a wonderful location, Dadonghai Bay. It has its own territory with swimming pools. The breakfast was for every taste. Varied and delicious! On the territory of the hotel there are several restaurants, shops, children's club, etc. The service staff is at an excellent level. My personally thanks to Vanessa! The hotel room was spacious and neat. It had a bathtub, separate shower/toilet, a large closet with a safe, a mini fridge and some cups, which I really liked since I made my own breakfast. The sea view from the balcony combined with that of the hotel's infinity pool looked amazing! The hotel is only 15 minutes by walk away from the nearest beach and everything is relatively close. Since it was located on a hill with a long drive through... ordering things from meituan was really convenient. They even had a meituan locker where you can scan the code and collect your order! The front desk receptionist spoke proper English, was nice and attended to my needs. They also had a gym and restaurant. It's sad that they didn't have a laundry room since I stayed in Sanya for a week and wanted to do my laundry. Also the pool closes at 7h so at night you couldn't swim. But you could lay down and enjoy the fresh nightly breeze!

Firstly the concierge at the front desk was easy to contact before arriving at the hotel. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary so I asked them to plan ahead whatever they could and they prepared some cake and a romantic bed setup. The front desk clerk was available at most times during the day if we had any questions or requests. The selected villa room was spacious and very comfortable. Room service did a good job daily and they were very understanding. The hotels facilities are pretty great. All maintained well. The location of the hotel is superb for yalong bay, it’s walking distance from the beach. The breakfasts weren’t bad either, and the breakfast time was up until 12:00 which is amazing. This was a fantastic experience and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Sanya for leisure.

Always my favorite spot in Sanya: private enough, good beach and clean sea, still at a stone drop from the city center. Very convenient location within the city, so it’s possible to go out and discover the food options the city has to offer. The resort architecture and decoration it’s another label, sober and elegant still with a south asian touch and far from the usual bling bling massive resort style. This time I rented the Villa which couldn’t get any better. Beautiful house, and luxurious build: the ceiling was more than 4 meters high! Massive and double walk in closet, bathrooms etc. loved it! Special thanks to Manager Asitha and Ámbar from the Reception. Actually all staff are great, specially the mini car drivers that’s helps to move around and brings the takeaway orders.

This has been my third trip to Sanya and I must say this hotel left a lot to be desired. My personal goal for choosing this hotel was A. Trip.com is still using great photos of the place that sold that island retreat to me and B. to have the resort vibe where I would not have to leave the comforts unless it was for a good reason. However on arrival and inspection my husband and I quickly realized we would be seeing a lot more of Yalong Bay than we had planned with almost every meal being eaten at other hotels with much less of an “off season “ vibe. The location is great and accessible to the beach but the hotel boasts pools(more than 1 being important) however on inspection only the kiddie pool and half of the main pool were allowed to be used. The pool in front of the McDonalds was semi drained and cornered off despite staff members cleaning in it as if it were being used. The main pool divided up into 4 areas was also not in full use with the entire right side being forbidden. Many of the other pool like areas that originally had been marked as swimming areas also had signs up saying it was a “landscaping pool - do not enter”. Another unsettling part is the incessant douyin content creators who set up camp at the stairs of the only usable pool to film the general area and talk all day in shifts with no real consequence or idea of privacy. As for dining the “western style dining” was definitely not catering to westerners unless you count rubbery eggs and dry bacon with a side of rotisserie corn sausage as a “full English” the dining hall itself is in two areas indoor (with broken upholstery and exceptionally dirty flooring) and outside with chairs that resemble public swimming pool seating in the 80s with a dose of tetanus on the legs. The evening dining is also something to be avoided if you have no way of understanding Chinese or do not wish to get food poisoning since meat is kept outside in dishes for you to choose your own BBQ options while no regard for cross contamination or food allergies are applied. The hotel rooms themselves were the redeeming feature of this hotel with daily cleaning and good views of the mountain and ocean depending on your choice of room when booking. It is also worth noting there is no room service but there are very convenient meituan drop boxes located outside the hotel lobby. Cleaning staff were super friendly and other hotel staff seemed to be divided into “older” and “younger” the younger of the bunch being much more helpful and more recognizable as people working in the hospitality industry. Other amenities such as the spa (was not occupied and not on offer) and the gym was well equipped however some machines were of the older more unreliable variety and with no working air conditioning you could potentially be working out in a sauna. On arrival you are offered a complementary coupon for one afternoon tea set, the pictures used for advertising this special offer are unfortunately false advertising. With an odd assortment of savory and sweet cookies and snacks it was anything other than something I would purchase myself. Our first impression was that the hotel was in an “off season” but on closer examination of hotels in the surrounding area we found other hotels to have daily scheduled activities, full use of amenities and to be run by actual hospitality staff and not by untrained locals like the LAN Sanya - ocean view resort. Unfortunately this hotel would get a 10/10 would not recommend to foreigners and would not book again from me.

The hotel is outdated and old. The fridge was broken, the shower door leaked. Great video and breakfast was very good but this hotel needs remodeling for sure.

Staying at the Howard Johnson Resort was a lot of fun. The overall service was friendly and helpful but needed a foreign translator on staff. The location was perfect for traveling and staying close to the airport and beach. Several close stores. Several amenities were closed. Only one pool was open and the only western restaurant was closed. I would consider staying again in the future if more was open.

We stayed in 4 different hotels during this vacation and Pullman Yalong was by far the most disappointing one, although to be honest part of it comes from expectations. Pullman Yalong is a decent 3-4 star hotel, whose main problem is that expectations associated with the brand make it seem to be something it is not. Chinese breakfast is actually quite decent and has a wide range including MaLaTang, if you are craving Western food though it probably isn't worth the price. They have a big sign near the lobby recommending that you should not bring delivery food to your room, due to health and safety reasons, but feel free to ignore that. We ordered both room service and outside delivery on several occasions and deliveries were definitely a better option. Plus there is a food court and a supermarket not far from the hotel. The pool is quite big and its lower section is well shaded as well which a plus. However it was a major disappointment that the slide was closed(long term) as well as the cool cave you might see on the hotel's photos. On top of that there are some downright ridiculous designs ideas including a horrible pool access and sharp edge stairs inside the pool. The beach in Yalong is all public, but the access to it is limited by occasional path between some of the front row resorts. What this means in practice is that you will have a bit of a walk having to go around Marriot in Pullman's case. The room was OK, even had a bath and a walk-in wardrobe. The high point was the balcony above the pool. Signs of disrepair are visible around the hotel, but to be honest this seems to be the Yalong/Sanya standard at least for the 4 star hotels we stayed in. Jacky, I hope I got the name right, who worked in the lobby/shuttle car was great though. Not because he spoke good English(which he did), but because he had a problem solving attitude and wasn't afraid to approach guests to offer help.

Peaceful, beautiful, comfortable. Third time here. One complaint. In the morning I really had to rush to get back from exercising for breakfast before closing at 10:30. When I walked in at 10:10 staff started cleaning the name tags off buffet etc. The cleaner was even mopping around my feet while I was eating. People come here to have a holiday. I understand the staff have to do their jobs etc but breakfast should be a more peaceful experience. Previously I had the same issue with the breakfast.

As a traveler, my stay at the Palace Resort Yalong Bay in Sanya was a wonderful experience. The resort’s location is unbeatable, with direct access to the breathtaking Yalong Bay beach, known for its white sands and clear waters. It’s also conveniently close to the La Floret shopping area, which offers plenty of dining options, from local cuisine to well-known Western chains. The room was spacious and modern, with a cozy balcony overlooking the serene pool area. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless, complete with a large bathtub that made for a relaxing end to each day. Families will appreciate the thoughtful touches like bunk beds in some rooms and the colorful indoor play areas for kids. The outdoor pool was a highlight for me, with its warm water and distinct sections for adults and children. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, featuring a wide array of local and Western options. I especially enjoyed the freshly cooked noodles and the tropical fruit selection. What made my stay truly memorable was the exceptional service from the staff, especially Jason at the front desk. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for me, offering great recommendations and always greeting me with a warm smile. His professionalism and friendliness really stood out. Overall, Palace Resort Yalong Bay is a gem. It offers comfort, convenience, and outstanding service at a great value. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, it’s a fantastic choice for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway in Sanya.
