📍 1 St John's St, Salisbury

"A very convenient hotel in town, with a good location, close to everything, but there is no elevator, and it is a bit difficult to drag the suitcase upstairs."

📍 115 S Western Rd, Salisbury

"The hotel is less than 200 meters from the train station. The room is very cozy. The hotel has its own restaurant. The breakfast is rich and the taste is very good. If there is a chance, I will definitely stay there again."

Salisbury North Bishopdown

Salisbury North Bishopdown ★★★

📍 Pearce Way, Salisbury

"Very disappointing experience. Room booked and fully paid for a room for 4 guests, and my confirmation email clearly stated that the booking was for 4 people. However, when we arrived, we were given a room with only two single (twin) beds. The reception staff insisted that their system showed only 2 guests, even after I showed them my confirmation email proving the booking was for 4 guests. They refused to acknowledge their mistake or offer a suitable solution. As a result, we had no choice but to push the beds together and make our children sleep with us, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. There was no apology, no empathy, and no effort to resolve the problem. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they improve both their booking system and the attitude of their reception staff."

📍 70 Harnham Rd, Salisbury

"Great find this hotel. Clean, friendly. Brilliant view from the room. They are just missing some kind of food available of an evening, for people who don't want to go out. The shuttle service into town is a brilliant idea. It was a very long drive for us from Wigan, but welll worth it. Can't wait for our next stay...preferably when it's warmer."

Stonehenge Farmhouse Hotels in Salisbury

Stonehenge Farmhouse

"This is a great self catering hostel. Bedrooms and bedding were clean and good showers, and the staff member, Mel, was friendly. There is a self catering kitchen with 2 cookers, two microwaves and 2 kettles, so we never had to wait to use equipment. There’s no options for cooked meals at the hostel, despite mention of them being available by prior arrangement - there’s just no staff around in the morning who would provide this. Amesbury has shops, supermarkets and takeaways, so this wasn’t a problem for us. The hostel is well located for Stonehenge and Salisbury, which had a great market when we went. Our children loved the free farm access, feeding the animals and playing in the woodland playground in the day, and using the sandpit and trampoline after hours, when the farm was closed."

"Close to Stonehenge, it's a small manor that's neither new nor old. The breakfast selection is limited."

"Such a great team, extremely friendly they have just refurbished the rooms and hotel The mocktails were amazing The food is extremely good, I actually invited my local friends down for Dinner and lunch and they were talking about it the next day which is always a good sign. I would definitely stay again the only thing I would say, is the beds/mattress are extremely firm. But everything else is perfect 👌"

"I stayed here with my brother (who was visiting from Australia) for two nights. We were both very impressed with the high standard of decor and cleanliness. It is a beautiful old building set in a restful location. Our twin room was very spacious and comfortable and well stocked with hot drinks and biscuits. The hosts, who run this working family farm were really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was first rate, with a wide choice of offerings. I recommend it without any reservations. I would definitely go back if visiting this area again."

"We come across this little gem… and wow, what an amazing place!!!! The staff were so friendly, the pub itself is very quaint and rural, the setting was perfect. The garden was fantastic, was beautiful sitting there in the sunshine. The food itself was super tasty and delicious! We will definitely be returning and recommend highly to others to visit this beautiful place! "

"We enjoyed our 3 night stay - the breakfasts were excellent and everyone was very friendly but we had some reservations: We were originally booked into a first floor room but the steps from the bar are very narrow and steep which my wife could not manage. The alternative route via an external fire escape was not acceptable on a cold, damp dark February night. We were therefore offered a courtyard room which was newly decorated to a high standard but the lighting was so minimal that we had to use torches to read. I asked for a standard lamp but none was available so from the hours of 5pm to 11pm we lived in darkness. The in-house wifi worked well in the pub but the signal was often lost in our courtyard room so we often had to go in to the main building to log in to the Butcombe site, and re-enter all our details again . The room lighting and the wifi are issues that can be rectified but the difficult access to the rooms in the main building is a major obstacle - if the courtyard room had not been available we would have had to try to find somewhere else."

"Overall a nice stay but one thing I did miss would be heating. There was a small electric heater but it was not powerful enough to heat up both the room and the bathroom"

"Very satisfied with hotel facilities and services. Arriving early, I stored my luggage and received the room key. When I returned to the hotel in the evening, my luggage had been put in the room. The room is very clean: the bedding is very comfortable, the bathroom facilities are new and clean, There are heart-warming biscuits, freshly baked mini sponge cakes, and (heated) air conditioning; toiletries are made of 100% natural ingredients; the breakfast is rich and delicious; it is close to the train station, making travel convenient. There was a train passing by outside the window, but the sound insulation was good and the train stopped running at night, so it was not affected."

"Absolute shambles, some staff couldn’t speak English. Encouraged to book meal deal on evening of stay. On arrival at restaurant we were told that they had no chips, and as most meals came with chips was just a nightmare. I wanted fish & chips and member of staff said you can have it with rice or salad. According to the only member of staff that understood English they had ran out of chips the day previous. So why were we encouraged to have an evening meal without knowing this. On the plus side room was nice but had to ask for another towel. Please avoid! !"

"I spent one glorious night in their loveliest suite, and honestly I didn’t want to go home! The bath is top tier, and the suite is probably larger than my entire downstairs at home. The amenities were excellent, slippers, robes that actually fit my plus size frame, a Nespresso machine, super comfy bed. The breakfast was really good and eating looking over the river watching the swans and ducks float by was beautiful. I have some chronic health issues and the staff bent over backwards to be accommodating and generous, everyone I met was friendly and so helpful. I highly recommend, and I have already booked my next night there!! Stay for a while or like me, stay just one night as it is like a tonic."
