"The manager of this guest house went out of his way to be helpful. I am solo traveler from Melbourne Australia and stayed in a spacious double room overlooking the mountain and river. Open the windows at night and all you hear is the mountain river. When I asked how to organise a bus to the railway station he got me a share car that picked me up from the accomodation for same price as the bus. Also Great advice as to which routes to take on the mountain. No one in this region speaks English you will need a translater app on you phone and WeChat to keep in communication with hotel manager"

"This hotel is truly impressive, we were lucky to find a hidden gem. The location is very convenient if you want to be close to Mount Huangshan, it's around 15 min away by walk to the south gate of the mountain. The room looked exactly like the photo, in fact it's even better in person, it's way more spacious than it looks. It's clean, the views we had from our windows were also great. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, very helpful when we needed help with the transport. They gave us local snacks to try, toys to play with when we went river rafting and hiking sticks when we went to Mount Huangshan. I am not one to write reviews but this is a hotel that provided great value that far exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. As foreigners, we are very grateful for the very warm welcome and hospitality throughout the whole duration of our stay! šš For sure, if we ever visit Huangshan again, we will stay here! č°¢č°¢! ā°ļøšš¹š¹š¹"

"A very perfect experience. The hotel is located in Chengkan Ancient Village and is easily accessible by high-speed rail. The hotel is an ancient Ming Dynasty house in a village. The internal facilities are modern, complete and full of design details. It is suitable for both ancient and modern times and is surrounded by art and humanities. The room was clean and comfortable. What's more worth mentioning is that from the housekeeper to all the service staff, the thoughtfulness and customer-oriented service awareness make people feel full of sincerity from the reception to the farewell. In addition, the food is delicious. It is recommended to have dinner at the hotel. There are surprises every day for breakfast, afternoon tea and good night desserts. The coffee in the hotel is also very good."

"It rained for two days when I arrived at Huangshan, but the room was very warm. The lobby, patio and room were very photogenic. The whole hotel was very unique. The housekeeper, boss and boss lady were all very considerate. The food cooked by the aunt was also very delicious. It was definitely a five-star rating. I brought my parents and children to play together. The movement line of the big bed room was actually very suitable for children under three years old. You can run around the bed in the room^_^ There is a small garden at the door of the room. I was very happy to catch snails on rainy days. I was originally preparing to return because I couldn't climb the mountain because of the rain, but the rain stopped early the next morning. I contacted the housekeeper at 7 o'clock in the morning for pick-up, and he would reply quickly to make people feel at ease. It only takes a few minutes for the hotel to get to the cableway transfer center, and the elderly experience is also very good. Sincerely five-star rating, highly recommended!"

JJingchengxudayeThis stay has completely reset my benchmark for domestic accommodation in China; it's currently my absolute top pick. I'm not sure whether to categorize it as a hotel or a guesthouse, but frankly, it doesn't really matter. It's located directly opposite Beihai Hotel, next to Mo Bi Sheng Hua, and right beside the police station. You'll find a discreet wooden door, easily missed, down a hidden path. Once you step inside, it's like entering a whole different world. The entire property is designed like a quaint little village, with all rooms thoughtfully nestled on the mountainside. All buildings are beautifully renovated historical structures.
I booked the 'Yun Yi' room, which comes with a private courtyard featuring a small soaking tub. After a day of hiking, soaking in the tub to soothe tired muscles, with the stars and moon as your companions above, was simply wonderful. From the moment you book, you won't have to worry about how to get up the mountain or how to explore; your dedicated butler will arrange everything. They offer VIP access to the mountain: a driver will pick you up from your location at the foot of the mountain at the appointed time and take you directly to the cable car station, where you'll use the VIP lane to board without any wait. You won't have to concern yourself with the crowds at the South Gate or the queues for the cable car ā none of that affects you. We visited on a Saturday during the summer holidays. The driver picked us up at 7:30 AM, and we genuinely arrived at Yunjia before 9 AM. You get the picture?
While the room amenities and finishes might not rival the luxurious villas of Banyan Tree, Aman, or Six Senses, it's important to remember that the property is located within a scenic area, meaning construction and footprint are restricted. Moreover, every single item has to be carried up the mountain by porters from the foot of the mountain.
However, the service here is absolutely exceptional ā truly top-tier. It's not just one or two staff members who provide excellent service; it's the entire team. Their service is entirely proactive; guests barely need to voice a request as the staff anticipate your needs before you even think of them. This level of intuitive and attentive service is genuinely rare and incredibly difficult to achieve. Given that Yunjia's rooms are almost always fully booked during the summer, it's clear that the price isn't the issue when it's truly worth every penny.
I will absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Huangshan. Thank you, Yunjia, for an unparalleled and truly exceptional accommodation experience.

GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.

We chose the Qingyin Caolu B&B, which is located in a quiet area amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. It only takes 2 minutes to walk into the alley from the big tree at the entrance of the village. My kid and I stayed in Yuese Xishi room, which had a big bed and a big window. The weather was fine and the view from the window was stunning.

GGuest UserThe fortunate highlight of my Huangshan trip was my delightful encounter with Shanyu Life Design Guesthouse. I had long heard it was a top-tier guesthouse in Huangshan, but the moment I stepped inside, I realized all the accolades couldn't even capture a fraction of the actual experience.
Ink-black tiled roofs and white walls nestled in the folds of green mountains; opening the window immediately greeted me with a breathtaking expanse of verdant scenery. As morning mist drifted over bamboo tips, birdsong served as a natural alarm clock; after dusk cooled the stone steps, the mountain breeze whispered through pines, gently knocking at the window. This tranquility, secluded from the mundane world, is a pure joy not found amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.
The cured bacon brought by the proprietress glistened like amber, and the fermented mandarin fish in the ceramic bowl exuded a rich, mellow aroma. Every bite was like tasting the very essence and spirit of Huangshan. It felt like being hosted by mountain relatives, warmth spreading from my palate to my very soul.
The young female guide arranged by the guesthouse was a living map of Huangshan. As her fingers traced the mountain paths, strange rock formations gained legends, and even the sweat beads of the porters carried stories. Away from the crowds, we truly connected with the soul of Huangshan.
Upon departure, the proprietress gifted us some Huangshan Maofeng tea, which still carried the fresh scent of mountain mist. It turns out the best travel experience is finding the warmth of home in an unfamiliar place. If I ever return to Huangshan, Shanyu will remain my spiritual home ā staying here truly allowed me to tuck Huangshan into the folds of my memories.

Ggladiersi had a really pleasant stay here, but what stood out the most was the staff ā especially å®ä¹¦ē³. i reached out to her very last minute when i realised i might not be able to catch my train (which meant iād miss my flight too), and she went above and beyond to help. she patiently guided me through everything ā from what time we should start heading down the mountain, to when the cable cars and buses start operating. she even went the extra mile to contact a driver she knew to make sure we had transport that early in the morning. all this was outside of her working hours, which made me even more grateful. thanks to her, everything went smoothly and i managed to catch my train and flight.
the hotel itself is also conveniently located in the centre, with restaurants and shops nearby. overall, a great experience and iām really thankful for the warm hospitality.

AAnonymous UserWe absolutely loved our experience at Xihai hotel. The level and quality of customer service was incredible, and the staff did everything to make us feel special.
Thank you to Kora who communicated all the necessary information to us clearly including the forecast for sunrise the next morning (a 15 minute walk up towards Danxia peak). The hotel also provides complementary down jackets for cold weather.
The rooms are lovely, and the food at the restaurant is buffet style but very nice and good variety.
The hotel also has several daily activities - I highly recommend the face changer show in the evening!

GGuest UserThis hotel is perfectly situated right on Huangshan Mountain. The butler service was outstanding; they even accompanied us to watch the sunrise and sunset. They prepared detailed maps for us, explaining the best ways to explore and marking out routes, which was incredibly helpful and solved a lot of potential problems. The dining was standard, but considering all ingredients have to be hand-carried up the mountain by porters, you can't really ask for more ā it's truly commendable! The hotel is also very close to famous scenic spots like 'Mystical Pen Peak' and 'Monkey Gazing at the Sea'.
