"The overall environment was quite good, and a complimentary golf experience was included. However, breakfast was a letdown with very limited options. The room itself was noticeably dirty: dust could be wiped off the table, the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and the full-length mirror and vanity table were not properly cleaned. The room's soundproofing was poor, and the outdoor AC unit was excessively loud, resulting in a very uncomfortable night. Service, however, was acceptable. Ignoring the pleasant surroundings, this hotel is a far cry from the 4.5-star establishments I've stayed at."

"A very distinctive Hui-style hotel, away from the hustle and bustle, very close to Huangshan North Station, no traffic jams. The room is large, the bedding is comfortable, suitable for business vacation and leisure. All three meals can be delivered to the room, the waiters are very patient, although I only ordered a few home-cooked dishes, but the Anhui signature stinky mandarin fish beats the roadside restaurants. Thanks to the housekeeper Ding Yuhong for the warm reception, helping me find and send back the professional trekking poles that were left in the room. Happy Lantern Festival!"

JJingchengxudayeThis stay has completely reset my benchmark for domestic accommodation in China; it's currently my absolute top pick. I'm not sure whether to categorize it as a hotel or a guesthouse, but frankly, it doesn't really matter. It's located directly opposite Beihai Hotel, next to Mo Bi Sheng Hua, and right beside the police station. You'll find a discreet wooden door, easily missed, down a hidden path. Once you step inside, it's like entering a whole different world. The entire property is designed like a quaint little village, with all rooms thoughtfully nestled on the mountainside. All buildings are beautifully renovated historical structures.
I booked the 'Yun Yi' room, which comes with a private courtyard featuring a small soaking tub. After a day of hiking, soaking in the tub to soothe tired muscles, with the stars and moon as your companions above, was simply wonderful. From the moment you book, you won't have to worry about how to get up the mountain or how to explore; your dedicated butler will arrange everything. They offer VIP access to the mountain: a driver will pick you up from your location at the foot of the mountain at the appointed time and take you directly to the cable car station, where you'll use the VIP lane to board without any wait. You won't have to concern yourself with the crowds at the South Gate or the queues for the cable car – none of that affects you. We visited on a Saturday during the summer holidays. The driver picked us up at 7:30 AM, and we genuinely arrived at Yunjia before 9 AM. You get the picture?
While the room amenities and finishes might not rival the luxurious villas of Banyan Tree, Aman, or Six Senses, it's important to remember that the property is located within a scenic area, meaning construction and footprint are restricted. Moreover, every single item has to be carried up the mountain by porters from the foot of the mountain.
However, the service here is absolutely exceptional – truly top-tier. It's not just one or two staff members who provide excellent service; it's the entire team. Their service is entirely proactive; guests barely need to voice a request as the staff anticipate your needs before you even think of them. This level of intuitive and attentive service is genuinely rare and incredibly difficult to achieve. Given that Yunjia's rooms are almost always fully booked during the summer, it's clear that the price isn't the issue when it's truly worth every penny.
I will absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Huangshan. Thank you, Yunjia, for an unparalleled and truly exceptional accommodation experience.

Although it was my first time booking a B&B, I was truly impressed. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was outstanding, and responses were prompt. All staff members were incredibly attentive and helpful. The restaurant food was also delicious; I particularly recommend the roasted local pork chop. My only minor suggestion would be for the breakfast to offer a bit more variety. They also provide a thoughtful and considerate laundry service. Our butler even gave us a tour of the B&B's other facilities and courtyard, which was a very pleasant surprise. Just one suggestion: it would be great if the children's policy could be more flexible or accommodating. While our specific issues were resolved smoothly, an initially unaccommodating policy might deter many potential guests.

Our room offered stunning mountain views the moment we opened the door, and at night, we could hear the gentle murmur of the stream. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful; she planned a perfect hiking route tailored to our fitness level, which really compensated for the hotel not being situated at the very peak. As we set off for our hike, she even thoughtfully provided us with hiking poles. The driver who handled our transfers was also superb, ensuring seamless connections from the hotel to the trailhead. On our second day, when they helped us transport our luggage out of the mountain area, the hotel thoughtfully prepared bottled water and a lovely farewell gift.

EE0546****The fortunate highlight of my Huangshan trip was my delightful encounter with Shanyu Life Design Guesthouse. I had long heard it was a top-tier guesthouse in Huangshan, but the moment I stepped inside, I realized all the accolades couldn't even capture a fraction of the actual experience.
Ink-black tiled roofs and white walls nestled in the folds of green mountains; opening the window immediately greeted me with a breathtaking expanse of verdant scenery. As morning mist drifted over bamboo tips, birdsong served as a natural alarm clock; after dusk cooled the stone steps, the mountain breeze whispered through pines, gently knocking at the window. This tranquility, secluded from the mundane world, is a pure joy not found amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.
The cured bacon brought by the proprietress glistened like amber, and the fermented mandarin fish in the ceramic bowl exuded a rich, mellow aroma. Every bite was like tasting the very essence and spirit of Huangshan. It felt like being hosted by mountain relatives, warmth spreading from my palate to my very soul.
The young female guide arranged by the guesthouse was a living map of Huangshan. As her fingers traced the mountain paths, strange rock formations gained legends, and even the sweat beads of the porters carried stories. Away from the crowds, we truly connected with the soul of Huangshan.
Upon departure, the proprietress gifted us some Huangshan Maofeng tea, which still carried the fresh scent of mountain mist. It turns out the best travel experience is finding the warmth of home in an unfamiliar place. If I ever return to Huangshan, Shanyu will remain my spiritual home – staying here truly allowed me to tuck Huangshan into the folds of my memories.

**Facilities:** The most remarkable feature is the hotel's powerful ventilation system. While other facilities were also excellent (and expected given the price point), even in our relatively compact room, after my kids enjoyed instant noodles and a hot pot, and all four of us dried our rain-soaked shoes, there was absolutely no lingering odor.
**Service:** I truly appreciated the warm, yet professional service from every single staff member. The laundry and drying service, in particular, was a lifesaver in Huangshan's unpredictable weather, making it incredibly valuable. The hotel package also included mountain entrance and cable car tickets, which, despite the slightly higher price, made the overall stay feel like excellent value considering these bundled services. When we ordered wine, the server thoughtfully brought complimentary snacks. If there was one minor imperfection, it would be that some of the power outlets in the room were a bit loose, causing plugs to sometimes wiggle.

AAnonymous UserLast time I visited, this hotel was still under renovation. This time, it's finally open. We booked a standard king-size room. The small size is fine, but the only thing I can't accept is the bathroom! A standard room is fine for one person, but two people are incredibly awkward and have no privacy. Because the room is small, the hotel used wooden partitions to increase light transmission, but they're just for show and don't block anything. Using the bathroom is not only awkward, but the smell is also incredibly unpleasant! It appears that you're alone in the bathroom, but everyone in the room is forced to watch you go. In all my hotel stays, this is the first time I've seen such inhumane design. I'm giving it two stars entirely because of this bathroom.
As for the service, the female staff were very attentive and responsible. The check-in girl and the two women who cleaned the lobby were very welcoming, and the cleaning lady was also very attentive. The men weren't so much. The breakfast noodle chef should take a break if he's feeling down at home, and stop looking so absent-minded. He doesn't keep track of who ordered what, and there's no first-come, first-served system.

The bedding was wonderfully plush and comfortable, and the toiletries were high-quality from renowned brands. We were treated to complimentary mini-bar snacks, fresh fruit, and afternoon tea, along with free shuttle service and luggage assistance. Responses to all our WeChat inquiries were incredibly prompt. We skipped breakfast at the hotel to get an early start on our hike, but the two dinner dishes we ordered were quite good. Its proximity to the Yungu Cableway is a major plus; staying here the night before allowed us to take the Yungu Cableway up and Yuping Cableway down the next day, which effectively helped us beat the crowds.

YYanyuThis was our second stay at the resort. Our first visit was during the pandemic, when all activities were shut down, and we felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves. This time, the experience was much richer and even better.
If you're looking for a peaceful retreat from the strenuous climbs of Huangshan or the bustling crowds of Xidi and Hongcun, Banyan Tree is the perfect choice. Luchun Village is just about a 5-minute walk away, and a little further on foot, you'll reach Tachuan. Both are beautifully preserved, pristine villages.
Before our arrival, our butler, Felix, reached out to me, asking for our estimated arrival time the next day to ensure everything was perfectly pre-arranged. When I simply requested an extra comforter, he immediately offered to upgrade our room, provided it was available. What a pleasant surprise! We ended up staying in the largest room type at Banyan Tree, the Luchun Two-Bedroom Villa (room numbers starting with 2), which boasted over 200 square meters, plus an outdoor garden and a balcony. Our teenager absolutely loved having so much space to run up and down between floors. The room was so incredibly vast that the three of us sometimes had to call each other just to find one another!
Needless to say, as a five-star property, it had all the amenities you could possibly need, so I won't list them all. It featured three bathrooms, two bathtubs, three televisions, a three-door refrigerator, a microwave, and a washing machine. Both floors were impeccably clean; we were comfortable walking around barefoot. There wasn't a speck of dust or a single insect anywhere in the entire room – we were truly impressed.
The service, in particular, was truly exceptional. Felix, our butler mentioned earlier, was incredibly enthusiastic, offering us detailed introductions and thoughtful recommendations. During our three-day stay, our housekeeper, Jo Yao, was not only extremely polite but also showed great respect for our privacy. Whether she was cleaning, delivering a fruit platter, or performing turndown service, she always asked for permission before entering. Her conversations with us while working were also very genuine. There was also a friendly shuttle driver who drove us around the resort and recommended local delicacies; I regret not catching his name. All the staff members here are warm, genuine, and truly committed to providing excellent service. We are so grateful. Every single staff member greeted us with a smile and was always ready to assist with any request.
Breakfast was decent, though it could offer a wider selection. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with everything. The pet park had many cute animals, the swimming pool staff were very attentive, and the sunset ceremony had a wonderful sense of occasion.
We just returned today, and I wanted to write this review promptly to truly do justice to all the wonderful experiences Banyan Tree offered.

GGuest User**Pros:** The location is superb, just a short walk from the South Gate Transfer Station. While the hotel facilities are a bit dated, they were perfectly acceptable. The price was quite high, but understandable given that we visited during a summer weekend, which is the absolute peak of peak season. A big plus is the hotel's hot springs, which were heavenly for unwinding and easing our tired muscles after hiking Huangshan.
**Cons:** It was quite humid, but honestly, that's to be expected when you're at the foot of Huangshan; I doubt anywhere there isn't humid.
