The hotel is a small gem just 10 minutes away from Huangshanbei station, which makes a good location for heading to Huangshan scenery spot (and besides Tunxi can be reached by bus in 30-40 minutes with 1 ¥ from the station). Alex picked me up at the station last minute and gave me a lot of info for my trip to Huangshan. Even alhad me join a taxi to share with other customers

The reason why I chose this place is that the transportation is quite convenient. Downstairs is a place for children to play. It is convenient to buy things in the supermarket. There are also many snacks within two steps. It is good to bring children here. The front desk staff is really nice and patient. They help us solve problems. Free parking is available at the accommodation. The parking lot is also very close. It is very good. This is my second stay here. If you like convenience, you can stay here. I wrote so much because the front desk is very good.

The hotel is located in the downtown area of Huangshan, 2.2 kilometers away from Tunxi Old Street, which can be reached by car in about ten minutes. There are many restaurants, snack bars and local specialty shops on Tunxi Old Street. It is nice to go shopping at night. There are restaurants and shops around the hotel, which is convenient for eating and shopping. Free parking is available at the door, but there are few parking spaces. The hotel is clean and tidy, but the air circulation is not very good, and some rooms have the smell of oil smoke. The hotel supplies are OK, with disposable toilet mats and two bottles of mineral water for free. The breakfast is also good, with porridge, soup and side dishes. The hotel allows small dogs, but it is unpleasant to ask people to take care of pets many times. I especially like the security guards at the door. They are very enthusiastic, polite, and actively find parking spaces and help change rooms, which adds a lot to the hotel.

The parking lot is a smart parking lot with electric control. The disadvantage is that it is not convenient to pick up something if you forget it. It's not far from Tunxi Old Street and Liyang Water Street, and it's convenient to eat nearby. The hotel facilities are a bit old, the bathroom sewer pipes in both rooms are not smooth, and there are holes in the bedding.

Due to weather reasons, the car was delayed for nearly 40 minutes. It was dark and it started to drizzle. Although we knew we were not far from the inn, it was dark and we couldn't tell the direction, so we called the owner and she said she would pick us up wherever we went. Her house was very close, just across the underground passage.
The boss is very welcoming. To be honest, the room is not expensive, but the facilities are a bit poor. It is okay for a one-night stay in Tangkou Town. I had dinner at her house. The next day, I went to Xixinan, a popular check-in spot. I happened to meet a driver who could go to Tangkou Town. The price was the same as at the bus station, 30 yuan per person.
Anyone who wants to stay at the high-speed rail station can choose this place. There are many inns that are convenient for check-in!

I had an amazing time at the Huangshan old street hotel during my backpacking trip in China. The room was very neat and clean and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel could not be better, situated right at the entrance of the Huangshan old street, and when you cross the bridge over the river you find yourself in another part of the cozy city center of Huangshan. We had a great stay overall!

Came to Tunxi and decided to stay for one night with my children. Parents are required to provide a verification code for minors to check in, and the hotel location will be included in the text message. I think this is very good and gives me a sense of security. The hotel is in a great location, very close to Tunxi Old Street. You can go for a walk in the evening and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Although the hotel facilities are not luxurious, they are very practical, clean and cost-effective.

AAnonymous UserI would describe this place more as a phenomenal bed and breakfast than a hotel, etc. Very hospitable and friendly host. They offer an exceptional breakfast which I have not experienced at my previous accommodations. Their place and rooms also have a nice and homely atmosphere with a lobby containing games and inspirational quotes on the walls and a cute cat. They also provide recommendations and guidance on which paths to choose on Mount Huangshan depending on what your goals are. The location is only a 10-15 min walk along the river to the Mount Huangshan shuttle buses which go to the cable cars to start your hike.

The hiking (difficulty between medium to hard ) itself can be done in a day for an average hiker both ways without a cable car, Hike up the west route Yuping direction and Hike down Yungu make sure you start by 7AM. I also did avail the shared ride back to HuangshanBei station for 35Yuan and the door pick up was helpful thanks for the stay.

GGuest UserOur stay here was wonderful! The owner was incredible and was very kind and helpful with any request that we had. He helped arrange a car the day we decided to visit the surrounding ancient towns, and offered to help us with transportation back to the train station when we left. The location is really convenient and easy to find. It’s a short walk to the old street and there is a lot of variety for restaurants and shopping around. There’s a beautiful park around the corner that has wonder walking paths where you can relax in nature. Our room was fantastic! We booked the SMART room with a king bed. The owner has put a lot of intentional thought about the small details that would make a stay pleasant and enjoyable. I loved the natural light the main room offered from the large window. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was so warm we didn’t even need to put the heat on. Wifi was excellent…. The bathroom / shower was great- really hot water, good water pressure, heat lamps, hair dryer…. He even provided different slippers for inside the bathroom vs the rest of the room. I will definitely stay here again for our next visit!

GGuest UserNewly refurbished, the hotel is very clean and dorned with trendy and minimalistic interior design. Rooms are very comfortable, and some rooms have mountain views, which is a bonus. Staff are friendly and service was good overall. The hotel is very near the Xiaoyaoxi (逍遙溪）bus transfer. It is much closer to the park entrance than the South Transfer Centre. The hotel also provides a free shuttle to the Xiaoyaoxi transfer centre all day. The breakfast is delicious at ¥25, which we find reasonable with its generous menu compared to the breakfast we found on the street.
We would love for the hotel staff to provide more useful travel advice to independent travellers. Things like a simple travel map and guidance for transportation would be great. They do have a travel agent working at the hotel, but we prefer to sightsee on our own. Another room for improvement would be to enforce the no-smoking rule at the restaurant which is right next to the lobby. It would allow us to enjoy sitting at the beautifully designed lobby more often.
Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable stay at Ibis. We would love to stay at this hotel again next time.

I didn’t rent a car myself. I originally wanted to take a taxi to go around, but the boss directly picked us up from Nandaemun for free. Later when we went to play off-road vehicles, we were also picked up for free (the boss also helped us buy cheap tickets). The boss also sent us to Tunxi Old Street, which is cheaper and more convenient than taking a taxi.
We had two meals at the B&B. Six of us came together, so we made reservations with the owner in advance. Every time we ate, we felt like family members were calling us downstairs to eat. It was very cordial. After dinner, I also played mahjong, although I learned it on the spot (thank you to the boss for his off-site guidance)🤪🤪
All in all, although I only stayed for one night, it was a very happy experience.

GGuest UserThe rooms are really clean and nice, location is near the waterfall, from which you can hike up to the mountain if you’re a serious hiker. It’s family owned hotel so everything is very authentic. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, helped us a lot with planning and organising the route for our hikes and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

My search landed at this Kunlun Hostel in the downtown area.
I love how accommodating the front desk people are. They only spoke a little English but they helped me out in booking my bus from downtown to the scenic area. It was already 10 p.m. but still they accommodated my request.
I booked a bed in a six-bed dormitory but it was full when I arrived so they went ahead and gave me a room with three beds and an ensuite bathroom. Later, my two roommates arrived and made a new friend with one of them. She doesn't speak English while I speak basic Chinese. Stil,l we communicated in Chinese and shared our views and opinions about life, travel, and womanhood. It was wonderful!
I love the cleanliness of this hotel and the free water every day. Toiletries were provided in the room as well as towels.
The common area is quite spacious and you can buy refreshments at affordable prices.
I took a Didi car from Huangshan North to this hostel. I love how convenient it is to do that!
On my last night, I stopped by the Ancient Street for Mandarin Fish and foot massage. It was blissful!
I am glad I booked my two-night stay at Kunlun Huangshan Downtown.

GGuest UserIt's suitable for bringing children. It's clean and the room is big. It's full of smart devices, which makes it feel like home. There's food on the first floor. The boss is very enthusiastic and will tell you what to pay attention to when going up the mountain. The most important thing is to go to Huangshan. The bus we take is right next to it, only two minutes away. I will go here next time.

What truly stood out was the receptionist. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to patiently walk us through the hiking routes, including the timing and pricing for the cable cars. He even gave us his personal ratings for each scenic spot, which helped us decide what to prioritize. Later that evening, when we hadn’t returned for a while, he actually called to check if we were okay — a really thoughtful gesture that made us feel cared for.
As for the hotel itself, it’s decent. The beds aren’t the most comfortable, but they’re not terrible either. Cleanliness could be improved, but by China standards, it was pretty clean — the sheets and towels were fresh, and both the AC and WiFi worked well.
Breakfast is very basic: boiled eggs, steamed buns, and soy milk for 15¥. Honestly, I’d recommend skipping it and grabbing some yogurt or fruit from one of the many nearby supermarkets instead.
Overall, it’s not a luxurious stay, but for the price and the service, especially the staff’s hospitality, it’s worth considering if you’re planning to hike the mountain.
