"This property is very well maintained and rooms are clean, and very well-appointed with the needed comforts. We truly applaud the attention-to-detail and effort that the husband-and-wife owners have put into this bed-and-breakfast property. We arrived as it started to get colder and truly appreciated the warm heating in the rooms. Fantastic warm showers. An amazing bonus amenity was the electric toilets! We are also thankful to the lady boss for highlighting the first Huangshan Peak snow-fall on our last day of stay! Upon her encouragement we decided an impromptu climb up Huangshan a second time. We were glad we did! The snow scenery at Huangshan peak was AMAZING. THANK YOU!"

"This B&B is our most impressive stay during 13 day trip in East China. Charming decorations, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast and most importantly, their hospitality!! Jacky is the warmest host. He did a great job in serving his guests. We felt like we are his friends rather than customers. He gave so many good advises on the Huangshan walk routing, taxi booking to Chemgkan and also good place to dinner. Unfortunately, we stayed only one night here and it rained In the early evening so not much chance to explore Tunxi as we wished."

"Awesome! I’m European and needed two nights to relax and enjoy a cute old center. The location is perfect, right at the centre and calm. The staff was awesome and super kind (they changed my room because sth was off) and the breakfast is simple and will fill you up.

The room was spotless and tidy, decorated in a cozy and unique style. The location was fantastic, and after a day of exploring, the owner's personal pick-up and drop-off service made us feel completely at home and relaxed. The owner also recommended some local restaurants that offered great value for money and served absolutely delicious food. What truly stood out was the owner's incredible warmth and attentiveness! "I have only good things to say about my one night stay. I had an excellent time at this bed and breakfast as a solo tourist visiting the Huangshan mountain. I consider myself an experienced world traveler and can confidently say the owner of this BnB is among the kindest and most patient people you could find in the hospitality and tourism industry. Although she doesn’t speak much English, she will find any way possible to help you and make sure you have a comfortable stay. My room was a smoking room but the owner opened the windows (this was in mid April so the temperature was quite mild) so the smell did not bother me that much. There is a very nice shower in the room with good water pressure. The bed and mattress are great. The owner kept my bags in her storage for one night after I checked out so I could go up to Huangshan mountain (I spent one night up in the mountain and then returned to her BnB to pickup my bags an leave town). The owner also is a great cook! And if you are a tea lover, make sure you try/buy her tea (she has a tea farm and picks the tea leaves herself) as this region is famous for its green tea. I would love to come back one day, hopefully with my family or friends."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during my trip to Huangshan and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and incredibly cosy—equipped with everything I needed, from toiletries to bottled water. One of the highlights was the convenient and affordable transportation the hotel arranged to and from Huangshan North Railway Station. At just 35 RMB during the day and 40 RMB at night per person, it was significantly cheaper than ride-hailing options, which cost about 130 RMB at night. The service was amazing as the staff were warm, helpful, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. During check-in, the receptionist patiently explained the best route to take on the mountain and even shared helpful recommendations. I also appreciated the little touches, like being able to borrow walking sticks for free, which saved me from having to buy one. The location is excellent too—just a 10-minute walk to the Huangshan South Gate Entrance bus station, with a view of Huangshan right from the hotel. There is also a massage place and supermarket just a minute away, and the hotel has a restaurant which serves truly delicious food. Overall, this hotel made my Huangshan trip so much more comfortable and enjoyable."

"This is my second time coming to Huangshan. I didn’t climb Huangshan last time, so I gave it a challenge this time. I would like to highlight the housekeeper brother. He has worked at the top of Huangshan Mountain for several years. He is a Huangshantong. He introduced the route up the mountain and precautions in detail. He was worried that we would go the wrong way. He also added WeChat and gave us a message if we encountered a fork in the road and didn’t recognize it. He was very enthusiastic when making videos! The whole process from check-in to check-out was very comfortable. The hotel has a high-speed rail pick-up service. We came from Hefei and the hotel driver contacted us in advance before we got off the high-speed rail, which was very convenient. The hotel facilities are also very complete, worthy of a four-star hotel, but the service is better than a five-star hotel. It’s not that I don’t have enough time and I really don’t want to leave. All in all, it was a very satisfying trip and I will come again."

"This is a beautiful hotel located in a quiet area beside the Jade Valley. There is a small convenience store in front, not many eateries around but as we had all our meals in the hotel it wasn’t a problem. There is only the sound of birds chirping and running river, none of the incessant honking and noisy traffic in Tangkou.
The meals prepared by the owners are very delicious, make sure you book ahead if you want to have lunch or dinner there. The breakfast included in the room was also a generous spread, so much so we could takeaway leftovers to eat on our Huangshan climb.
The room is spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and the proprietress kindly gave us a larger room that was available on the second floor, saving my mum from climbing to the third floor.
Do note that laundry is not self service here. We were surprised that the lady boss had to wash and help us to hang it out to dry before collecting it again in the evening for us, and also felt bad for troubling her as she is already handling everything else in the hotel.
She also kindly arranged for a driver to pick us up and send us to the train station. And helped to send us to the bus terminal to Huangshan. Just remember to hop off at the 逍遥溪 stop on the way back as it’s nearer for them to pick up from there.

AAisha_066It was wonderful experience to stay at this hotel, specially because of hotel owner 徐勇亮. We were greeted with extraordinary hospitality and friendliness. I was with a large group of friends, only two of whom could speak Chinese, but that didn't bother me as the owner knew English too. We will miss this trip very much and remember it with warm feelings. I hope I will come here again!

MM292021****Not checking the weather in advance, I failed to climb Mount Huangshan due to Meiyu Unexpectedly , I enjoyed my second solo travel every much . Without going outside , I was fascinated by the view outside the villa through the window . The mountains , the farmlands, the old house made of the mud make up the most beautiful scenery . Listening to the rhythm of the rain , It is amazing to lie on the tatami by the window and watch the landscape quietly . Sometimes , I like staying at the top of the villa and did nothing ,surrounded by the mountains . Only in this way could I find my inner peace . More incredibly , it was not long before I made friends with Mengmeng , an elegant lady of my age with her witty girl from Beijing. My solo travel transformed into a small group . We visited Huangshan emerald valley , also known as Valentine's Valley and Huangshan mountain waterfalls together even if there was a big rain . Despite ten minutes’ride between Huangshan and Homestay , the guide Xu , the owner of this villa , rode us to the attractions we wanted to visit for free as well as the professional arrangements for our trips . Meanwhile , his wife did the local cuisine to feast our appetite . Usually , we had a wonderful chat in our free time on the first floor where we had meals . Especially , Xu’s son an adorable boy whose face is like an apple with a pink-white skin . So next time , I will visit there again with my husband , son and friends . This villa where rooms are tidy and smart like our home deserves the countless visits .

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

We loved our stay at Villa Emerald Valley especially due to:
+ Lovely hosts: super friendly, multi generational, from the neighborhood and always keen to fulfill all our wishes even before we knew them
+ Bright, modern, clean and cosy rooms: Big windows, clean and modern bathroom facilities (great hot shower that is truly needed after a day in the mountain), really comfy beds, water boiler, etc.
+ Nice common area: game room, restaurant, tea table, small pool

+ Smooth communication and great service: quick responses via WeChat, airport pick up (200¥ one way), support with ticket booking for huangshan, carrying luggage, extra fruits, etc.
+ Emerging into the community: as it was tea harvest time, the hosts took us to the tea mountain close by where we could help picking tea leaves
+ Location: huangshan is overall really touristy with a lot of group tourism and thus overall probably not the nicest place to stay for a longer time. However, the home stay, while being close to all main tourist attractions, lies very calm and right beside the mountains where locals live and work, so it does not feel touristy at all and you could easily spend several days there to explore and relax
Also , the hosts can speak some English, so communication for foreigners is not a problem.

SSiewJooFloral Songye is very service-oriented. Shon, who can speak English, helped us plan our hiking trips and advised us on the nearby attractions. They helped us get rides and book us tickets at a lower price than we can get them ourselves. They also provided us with free rides to and from Huangshan and nearby attractions. They have quite a good menu at their restaurant and the food is delicious. The rooms are very comfortable and they provided us with free tea and snacks. The hotel is right next to the beautiful Emerald Valley. We would definitely stay with this family hotel again when we next visit Huangshan.

JJonas SchWe booked this place to stay the night before our overnight trip to Huangshan. The hotel is located between the Tangkou bus station and the Huangshan entrance gates, so you might have to take another bus or taxi (which however are very cheap to get there. The shuttle bus you need to take in the morning is in walking distance though.
Upon arrival, the host gave us a free upgrade after a friendly conversation and a lot of good advice for the following trip to the mountain.
The room we stayed in was probably one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in on our travels in Asia, and definitely the best value for money so far.
The hotel also offers free luggage storage and offered us to borrow some hiking poles (which we unfortunately forgot in the morning). When we came back the day after, we were even allowed to take a quick shower before getting on our Taxi out of town.
Overall, we couldnt have wished for a better stay and would recommend anyone visiting Huangshan to stay here.

RRolmerIt's really good place. We need a place to rest before hiking in Yellow Mountains and this please was the great variant. It's close to bus station and there are a lot of cafe's and shops.
Breakfast costs 15 yuan's. It's not so tasty but variety. The general manager if this place skeak English very good. He explained us how to reach Yellow Mountains and what is the best way on the top. He is really good men!

GGuest UserUnfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the hotel! It's perfectly situated at the foot of Mount Huangshan. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to the transfer center, which is less than a 5-minute drive away. From there, you can easily catch buses to both the Yuping and Yungu cable car stations. On your way back, the return bus drops you off directly at Tangkou Ridge, right opposite the hotel's main entrance.
The hotel rooms are very comfortable. In the lobby, dedicated travel specialists are on hand to help plan your itinerary and even assist guests unfamiliar with online booking to purchase tickets. The staff were all incredibly warm and helpful, and the complimentary sour plum drink in the lobby was a delightful touch.

CCinichengyibeizhanyong，qinglingxuanThe stay was great. The rafting scenic area was across the street, but it was closed because the season was over. The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.
