"While the hotel room was nice and the breakfast was good, there are some massive safety concerns especially for female travellers. We stayed here and were abused and threatened by a male guest in the room next door to us and were given no support by the hotel who basically told us we should lock ourselves in our room. One female receptionist who had no support from her management on dealing with this. We had to move hotels in the middle of the night for our own safety"

"Visited ‘Timbre BoaVista’ (new name) for 3 nights March 2026. Had a lovely stay, really nice room, spacious, modern, very clean, big comfy bed and kitchenette with balcony. Friendly, helpful staff. No kettle, but coffee available to buy at reception. Location is well away from the centre, next to the ring road, but only 20 mins on bus 201 to old town, and 10 mins to Viso metro (for the airport). Get an Andante tour pass c. €15 for 72hrs. Lovely cafe round the corner and supermarket 5 min walk."
