Hoposa Cultural Boutique ★★★★

"We had such a lovely stay at the Cultural. The hotel is so central on the lovely square. We had a great room- 212- overlooking the square. It was a great size and had a lovely balcony. There were nice toiletries in little bottles, a good hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. Plenty of storage space as well. Breakfast was great- cooked to order and delicious. Lots of options. Oscar was very attentive, friendly and looked after us. We had a bottle of wine and fruit platter left in our room for our wedding anniversary. There is a rooftop terrace which is a sun trap! Lots of beds and complimentary towels. There’s also a little splash pool as well. Reception and check in is at the Daina which is 2 minutes away. The reception staff were so helpful. There’s also a nice bar at the Cultural serving reasonably priced cocktails- they do a very good cava sangria! I had read reviews about the noise and there is some noise from the square but it’s a nice noise and doesn’t go on all night. I would really highly recommend this hotel!"

"We stayed at the Hotel Singala for two weeks and found it to be a peaceful, clean, and well-managed small hotel. A true haven if you’re looking for quiet, quality accommodation. The only drawback is the lack of evening meals, which meant dining out every night — something we were prepared for, but the cost came as a shock. Even basic meals for two now start around €40, with €60 easily spent without trying. Sadly, we found Puerto Pollensa had changed dramatically since our last visit nine years ago. The sense of being in Spain has faded. Shops and restaurants speak English by default, and the area feels more like a British/German resort than an authentic Spanish town. However, we did find a few bars with a genuine Spanish feel tucked away from the seafront. Cycling has also become very busy — large, fast-moving groups dominate the roads. As a solo cyclist, I sometimes felt intimidated. The island is groaning under the weight of mass tourism, and it shows. We ran a tourism business in Scotland for over 20 years, so we speak with some experience. Mallorca remains a beautiful island, but Puerto Pollensa no longer holds the charm it once had. "We had a really enjoyable stay here as a family with our 7-year-old and 4-year-old twins (+grandparents) Overall, it's a great hotel for young children with excellent facilities and a brilliant location. The pool area, splash pool, playground and sports courts kept the kids entertained for hours every day. The animation team deserve a special mention – they were full of energy without ever being over the top. The mini disco was a real highlight for our children, and the evening entertainment was generally very good too. I used the gym a few times. Not the biggest but everything you need for a decent holiday workout plus an extra space for stretches like a studio... Definitely lacking decent Aircon though!! The location is excellent, with direct and easy access to a beautiful beach. The sea is shallow, warm and perfect for young children, with lifeguards on duty for extra peace of mind. 5 minutes walk to bus stop which makes it easy to explore the island. Id recommend the old town morning or evening to avoid the extreme heat. It's also only around a 15-minute stroll into Puerto Pollensa, where there are plenty of shops, cafés, restaurants and ice cream stops. We also loved the small playgrounds dotted along the beachfront, which helped break up the walk for little legs in the evenings. The rooms are on the small side, as many others have mentioned, particularly when travelling with children. We had a Superior Room on the 8th floor with fantastic views, although the balcony ended up doubling as storage for our suitcases and buggy! Being on the 8th floor sometimes meant waiting for the lift, but it was never a major issue. The air conditioning was adequate, although it struggled a little in the 35°C+ heat despite adjusting the wall controls. We also had a problem with the fridge not working, but to the hotel's credit it was replaced the same morning. Kettle and tea coffee + water on arrival but you have to ask for milk replacements as and when as they are not replenished which seems a little silly! Small Nespresso pods are not replaced after the first 4 so if you like them, take some of your own. The all-inclusive drinks were perfectly good. San Miguel lager, local beers, wines and spirits were all included, with generous measures and served in large plastic cups during the day. The sangria was apparently excellent too! There was also a great selection of drinks for children, including fruit juices and slushies. The only real disappointment for us was the food. I know all-inclusive buffets are never going to please everyone, but compared with other similar hotels we found it quite repetitive. The restaurant also felt busy, with regular queues for some of the food stations. There was a lot of pork served in different forms, and while the staff were always friendly and hardworking, the children's options became repetitive very quickly. Hot dogs, pizza and dry, overcooked nuggets featured heavily, while some dishes from the main buffet, such as"

"Disappointing experience at this hotel considering who owns it. The setting is superb. Peaceful and beautiful. The room was very nice with a great balcony. However, the bath is in the middle of the room which is fine but there is nowhere to put the shower gel. This has been overlooked. Because of this the shower gel smashed on the floor and was not replaced. We were left with a broken bottle for the rest of our stay despite advising them. The breakfast is ok. It’s very healthy and could do with slightly more options for those of us who don’t come on holiday to be healthy! The pool area needs attention. The decking is uneven in places and I stubbed my toe. The decking surrounding the pool is a wasp oasis. Unfortunately, I hate wasps. When I finally found a safe spot to enter, the pool was cold. We have a pool at home so I am well aware of how 24/26 degrees feels. I did not feel comfortable having to walk down to the restaurant area from my lounger where people were having leisurely lunches to ask for a drink or another towel. Maybe, a buzzer service would be more appropriate. Jumeirah has this and it works well. A tip I would give is to order a taxi an hour before you need it"

Not fit for 3 people. The wardrobe is in the middle of the room. The worst part being the balcony overlooks 3 other balconies. You could touch the people they were that close. Our advice is if you are offered any of the 4 apartments in the corner - DO NOT accept them and ask to be moved Breakfast hot food is not hot- barely warm"

"We are still here on week 2, and we have already rebooked the same time next year to come back. Easy parking at this time of year in the street. Might be noisy in school holidays, and we had an odd bunch of noisy lads who were obviously lost and thought they were in Maga but seemed to only stay one night. Other than that, accommodation is very clean, comfy beds. Only one street back from Pinewalk if you're after being close to the beach. 10 min walk to town centre as well along the pinewalk. Failing that 2 mins away is The Store bar and food."

"I'd looked at this hotel several times before but was always put off by the awful, plastic waterslide feature which I assumed meant the place was overrun with small children. Well, I was proved very wrong. Yes, the waterslide is there (but you hardly notice it) and yes, there are a lot of small children but there is a huge amount more to this hotel. First impressions were positive with a pristine, tranquil reception area and small manicured garden with fish ponds. We had one of the premier rooms with outdoor day-bed but I would not bother with this again as we did not use it. I'd rather book one of the 1st or 2nd floor rooms with balcony. Our apartment did have a full size bed adjacent to the living room which was perfect for our 16yo as it gave us all a bit of space and privacy. The hotel is made up of 4 separate blocks, only 3 floors high. Each corridor has a water dispenser and rooms have fridge and microwave so ideal for families. Highlights for us were: - the AI drinks (my liver is still recovering) Never had to queue once and they have waiter service at night - the food. I hate excessive buffets and associated food-waste but the the hotel's was perfect with something to suit everyone, freshly prepared, regularly replenished and 'theme' nights. - the animation team. Onsite entertainment is simply not my thing but these guys, especially Andrea, were great. No cajoling of guests wanting to keep themselves to themselves but genuinely there to make sure those who did, had a good time. The water polo was especially entertaining and my shy son even joined in. It was as entertaining to watch as it was to take part! The paella and sangria demo was also very good. - the staff. All friendly and efficient. Arrived home to discover that husband left his Kindle behind and they're currently sorting out its return. - cleanliness. Absolutely no issues. - location. At the far end of the Pine Walk so very quiet and an enjoyable, 20-30 minute stroll to the centre of town. Downsides - the gym. Not up to much at all. If you're serious about training, use the private one in town. - suite with outside day-bed. Not worth the extra money in my opinion - evening entertainment. I can't comment on that for children but there was not much for adults. That said, most people seemed happy to entertain themselves. I'd say this hotel offers something for everyone - solo travellers, friends, couples and families. I usually return from hotels saying "it was good but....." On this occasion I really struggle to find fault and I can understand why people return year after year. I certainly would !"

"It’s a lovely hotel with an exceptional position. It is immaculately clean. The staff are super. The rooms are tired however- I went in and asked for a certain room at Easter, but didn’t get it, even though I was told I could have it. The new rooms look wonderful. It’s important the rest of the refurbishment is swift to avoid the hotel becoming two tiered and some good and some less so. It would have been better to have completed it all at once or over two years. The current situation will damage the hotel ‘s reputation as the difference is so vast between old and new."
