I really liked the hotel's friendly front desk staff and excellent breakfast buffet. Room was clean and amenities great for the price. The hotel is also relatively near Pingyao Ancient town and will arrange for a driver to take you into the ancient town.

Room was spacious, clean and toilet facilities ok. Hotel location is about 1 km SW to the nearest entrance gate. Suggest getting DiDi or cab there as fares are really cheap. RMB 6 for 1st 3km. Nearby there are limited choices for street food or restaurants.

Large and comfortable room and a nice breakfast. About a 20-minute walk to the old city, but it's more convenient than to stay there due to the limitations on getting in and out of taxis. Warm and friendly staff. Good base for exploring the city, certainly!

The Magnolia Hotel is in a good location, less than 1 km away from the two nearest ancient city gates. The beautiful receptionist upgraded the room type for me when I checked in. The room is of average size, the bedding is comfortable and clean, and the air conditioning is powerful.
