The owners are a Belgian and Lao couple who live next door and their help, service and hospitality is unbelievable. David drove us to and from the airport as well as to an interesting silk farm. We got to know his daughters and he cooked breakfast for us and a delicious curry for dinner. Sakhone took us on an all day tour of the highlights of the areas including three Plain of Jars sites. She is so knowledgable, a good driver and is fun to hang out with. The rooms are clean and basic with some homey touches. The bed was comfortable and it was pretty quiet. Phonsavanh is not an easy place to get to (a short flight is best) but it is worth it as this is an interesting area of Laos to go to after you have visited Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane - it has a lot of important history.
