First off, Ivy's ambiance is subtly pleasant and very comfortable. The service, I found, was just right. The way staff would nod and smile every time I entered, that subtle presence of 'we're here if you need us' felt really good. Almost all facilities have no time limits (except for the sauna which closes at midnight), so no need to rush for showers or the gym. It's perfect for night owls to quietly explore the hotel at any time! The lounge always has replenished snacks and drinks, and public spaces are always tidied up. Of course, this assumes everyone helps maintain a quiet atmosphere. The room layout was smooth, quiet, and conducive to good sleep. The air conditioning and all other facilities were noise-free. The flowing private hot spring was the best white noise for falling asleep. The room lighting was also perfectly designed! I really slept well, so checking out at 11 am was a bit difficult. It would be perfect if check-out could be at 12 pm! Even in summer, it's not boring at all. Although the Summer Lantern Festival isn't a huge event, it's still interesting! At least it's great for photos! I'd honestly love to come back in winter to experience the incredible snowy scenery! There are two young men who speak Chinese, and they are both very nice, so language communication isn't much of a worry. Friends who have stayed here also said Ivy was a pleasant surprise, a place that feels like home during their travels. However, to be honest, the dining was neither particularly good nor bad; nothing surprising there. My review might be subjective, but I genuinely love Ivy.

Great location just 500m from sapporo station 。friendly staff... ，they help to keep our large luggage and while we recheck in after two day, the luggage already in room. Very good service. Onsen in second floor is great too

The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom counter was too low. At 185cm, I had to bend over significantly just to wash my face. You can tell it's an older, established hotel, and the facilities are still quite convenient. The front desk wasn't particularly warm, and the service was just average. Also, they didn't provide any extra bottled water, which I found really unacceptable.

The location is great, and the hygiene is pretty good too, though once I found a hair on the towel and a tiny hair on the bedsheet. Overall, it's acceptable, but the room is tiny – it's the smallest hotel room I've stayed in in Japan. The service attitude was good, though. Next time I go to Hokkaido, I'll definitely pay more attention to room size before booking a hotel.

Additional review Pros: Location 1. Convenient transportation: After arriving at New Chitose Airport, take the JR train. Exit Sapporo South Exit on the first floor to the plaza, then turn right across the street to reach the hotel. You can also take the underground shopping street APIA, but you'll need to go up about ten steps as we couldn't find an accessible elevator. If you have luggage, it's more convenient to walk above ground. If you're taking the bus, there's a stop nearby, about 200 meters away. When we arrived, the adjacent block was under construction, and the ground was uneven, making it very inconvenient to push luggage. Under normal circumstances, it would be fine. However, the airport bus stop is right below the hotel, which is very convenient. Be sure to check the schedule; we saw many people queuing over two days, so it's likely you won't make it on the spot and might need to wait for the next bus. 2. Convenient for shopping and dining: Daimaru is opposite the hotel, Stella is next to Daimaru, and Tokyu is diagonally opposite Stella. You can see them all from the South Exit Plaza. The entrance to the underground shopping street APIA is right outside the hotel (via stairs), but we recommend taking the elevator down to B1 for direct access to APIA, which is extremely convenient on rainy days. The underground street directly connects to all nearby shopping malls and the JR station. The underground street itself has food and shopping. For dining, just follow the local office workers in line for authentic local flavors (be warned, some local ramen shops are incredibly salty, choose carefully). There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, but not many drugstores. The scattered two or three stores are small, suitable for restocking but not for major shopping. 3. Abundant and surprising breakfast: We entered and exited Sapporo, and compared to other options, this hotel's buffet breakfast had a wide variety and good quality. The seafood options for the DIY seafood bowl were also plentiful and replenished promptly. Friends who like a rich breakfast should not be disappointed. Besides the obvious advantages above, here are a few points to consider when choosing this hotel: 1. The front desk is on the 7th floor, with two direct elevators that require a key card. You might have to wait during peak hours, and their speed is average. 2. During check-in, the front desk insisted that everyone register via machine, but the system was cumbersome and prone to bugs. When we registered, there were a total of three machines and four groups of guests, including locals. Everyone eventually needed human assistance. The front desk staff started with smiles, but by the end, I felt it was good that they maintained their politeness. I wonder what the management is thinking; there are quite a few front desk staff, why add to everyone's burden? 3. The room size is normally small. The hallway and lobby are relatively new, while the rooms are slightly dated but acceptably clean. 4. The price is slightly higher than the surrounding area (this price difference is acceptable if you prioritize convenient transportation and shopping).

We’ve stayed here for 7 nights. Which was a bit longer stay for Sapporo. However as the weather was so bad with heavy snow, so we did enjoy our stays in hotel during the snowy weather. The breakfast is so great and we expect it every morning, as it includes a variety of foods so you always can find something to enjoy. All staffs are very friendly and welcoming, especially two male & senior chefs at ramen and omelette. We also bought spa in our room rate, so every night we did enjoy a pleasant spa( though it’s not hot spring). In front of hotel, there is a small mall - BIVI , which with some good restaurants ,nice cafe (Gentle Bagel) and coop. Even at the heavy snowing days, you have no worries to spend time in. B1 with very practical laundry service , costs are fairly . If you have budget, you can choose only room (without breakfast and spa) plans, which is with very CP, strongly recommended.

Booked two rooms for our last night in Sapporo before catching a flight the next day. For a few extra hundred yuan, we were upgraded to larger rooms at the front desk, which was great value for money, and the hotel felt very new. However, the bathroom in one of the rooms seemed like it hadn't been cleaned – the hairdryer cord wasn't tidied, the toilet paper wasn't folded into a triangle, and the stainless steel showerhead and mirror were full of water stains. Apart from the cleaning issue, we were quite satisfied with the room facilities.

Despite being in a lively neighborhood, the hotel itself feels calm and secure once inside. The room was compact, as expected for a Japanese city hotel, but it was thoughtfully designed to maximize space. I stayed in a standard room, which had a comfortable bed, a small desk, a flat-screen television, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and air conditioning. There was enough space to open a medium-sized suitcase, although travelers with very large luggage might find it slightly tight. The bathroom was clean and functional, with a combined bathtub and shower unit, along with basic toiletries provided. Water pressure was good, and hot water was consistent, which was especially appreciated during the colder Hokkaido weather. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was satisfactory. Housekeeping maintained the room well, and the common areas such as the lobby and hallways were tidy. The staff members were polite and professional, and while not all were fluent in English, communication was smooth and efficient. Check-in and check-out processes were straightforward and quick. One highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet, which featured a mix of Japanese and Western options. There were rice dishes, miso soup, grilled fish, salads, bread, eggs, and several local Hokkaido ingredients. It was a convenient way to start the day, especially before heading out for sightseeing. The hotel also offers practical amenities such as free Wi-Fi, coin-operated laundry machines, vending machines, and luggage storage services. We stayed for 2 nights, and had a pleasant stay. The hotel is 3 mins walk to Susukino and 5 mins walk to 狸小路 with many convenient stores and restaurants around. The front desk staff helped us to check in with the check in machine and the process was fast. We like the beds and room size, and the free flow of Haskap juice throughout afternoon and evening. The drawbacks are the front desk staff have limited English and didn’t understand our request to have a cleanup in our room as we were sleeping late and missed morning cleanup. The nearest airport shuttle bus stop across from hotel abest Sapporo is 4 blocks away and we have to take a taxi around 950yen with luggages to get there in the slushy snow. There are many Thai tourists in both evenings when we went back to hotel so the hotel is quite popular and crowded. Nevertheless the hotel was able to give us a high floor room away from elevators per our request and we had a quiet room which we appreciate a lot. Will definitely consider staying again given the hotel room is a good price!
