Clerks are all very nice, and they have shuttle buses to the JR station. However, foreign tourists with tattoos should note that they cannot use public bathroom, but they will still be charged the service fee of it.

My husband and I are enjoying a hot spring inn. We stayed here on the way back from Osaka. It was a large 5-star inn with a name of Grand Hotel, so we didn't have high expectations, but the food was worse than we expected. The appetizer was something like tsukudani, and the fish on the grilled fish and steamed sushi was so fishy that we couldn't eat it. It was written that it was the inn's recommended course, but the food we chose was in the worst 3 of the food we've had at hot spring inns we've visited so far. The room was well cleaned, and the yukata and bedding were not damp, so we were comfortable. There were no problems with the large public bath. Since it's a hot spring in the Kansai area, I hope they improve the food.

A spacious hotel located in Ogoto Onsen on the shores of Lake Biwa. The meal was a hearty kaiseki meal. The large public bath and open-air bath are spacious, and the strong alkaline hot spring water leaves your skin smooth. The surrounding area is quiet, but the convenience store inside the hotel is convenient.

The hotel is located right next to Lake Biwa. Please note that there is nothing nearby. To make up for that, there is a Lawson store in the lobby that sells souvenirs. The meals are served in the large hall, and the taste and volume are both satisfying. The hot spring is a large open-air bath that you can enjoy while looking out at Lake Biwa. The alkaline slimy water is very pleasant and satisfying.

The hotel was very spacious, with the floors and walls of the corridors decorated with beautiful stones, and many vases and paintings on display, giving it a luxurious impression. We enjoyed the banquet meals in the large hall, the large public bath, the game corner, the snacks, and the 17 ice cream vending machine, all typical of a Japanese Showa retro tourist hotel. The female staff in the restaurant were energetic and kind. The only disappointments were the horrible dirtiness of the air conditioner in the room and the female check-in staff member who was in a bad mood. She stood out because all the other staff were smiling.

West Wing 508. It's the epitome of the Showa era. The lady showing us to the room was walking slowly with my brother holding my elderly mother's hand, but she didn't look back and walked a few meters ahead. The door opens inwards so two people can't enter at the same time. The balcony railing is rusty and has dirty spider webs. There are no cups or mattresses in the sink, just one futon. We took them out of the closet and stacked them. It's more comfortable to sleep at home. The water in the toilet is at max, about the temperature of a pencil. The Hiei hot springs are good. Good food and good pillows. You can hear the neighbors a little at night. It was a big difference from Kyo Omi where we stayed a few years ago, but my mother was happy with it.
