"Set in the tranquil countryside a couple of kilometres outside the charming town of Cisternino, Masseria Peppeturro combines authenticity and comfort in the best possible way. It’s still a working farm, and the two original trulli on the property have been renovated into spacious guest accommodation. (We and the friends we were travelling with stayed in these; there are other, non-trulli apartments as well.) Owner Rino – the masseria has been in his family for multiple generations – was a responsive host, recommending places to eat (and making reservations for us when necessary), suggesting hikes/walks, helping us with directions. Most of the Valle d’Itria’s “name towns” are a 30-minute or shorter drive from here. The breakfast was amazing: fresh figs, persimmons, pomegranates and other fruits from their orchard; almonds and walnuts from their trees. Rino’s mamma baked a fresh cake for the breakfast table every day, and made us wonderful scrambled eggs. (The eggs came from the masseria’s hens.) Homemade jams, bruschetta with tomatoes from their garden and drizzled with their own olive oil….. the list goes on. The friendliness and welcome here extended across the language barrier (only Rino spoke English well, and our Italian was limited), his mamma answering my questions about her baking/cooking; his papa showing us the orchard, and cracking fresh walnuts that were drying in the sun for us to taste. We spent 5 nights here – and I wished we’d booked a couple more."

"Masseria Salinola is a wonderful place. My husband and I stayed there for a week in April. The Masseria has a welcoming atmosphere, full of charm and beautiful decorative details. This, combined with the friendliness of the staff, made us feel at home. The room was comfortable, clean, lovely. Every morning, the restaurant offered a delicious, abundant breakfast buffet. Dinner consisted of four delicious, varied, and well-presented courses. The owners, Daniele and his father Mimo, were warm and attentive, taking care of every detail. We also wish to highlight the service we received from Dino, our favorite waiter, who served us always with cordiality and cheerfulness - making our dinners unforgettable! The Masseria’s location allowed us to visit daily several beautiful towns in Puglia. We enjoyed every day and every aspect of Masseria Salinola; it was a dream come true. We will return again and again."

"We stay here and used the accommodation as a base for our Puglia travels. The host could not have been more helpful and, she was supported by the wonderful Marina who went above and beyond. We stayed in two rooms - the one with exclusive use of the hot tub which was upstairs and, yes, they are steep stairs but, the reviews did say that. We then stayed on the ground floor with a beautiful indoor jacuzzi and, the air con was much more effective here but, no windows. Both rooms very comfortable- could do with a few more hangers. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and lots of choice. The joy of the centre of Ostuni and all it brings is just a few minutes walk. Free parking is available - usually spaces to be had - thankfully we hired a Fiat 500 so, could squeeze in! Wouldn’t hesitate to return, thanks for a great stay"

"We stayed for two nights in July during a 10 property Italian road trip, so this review is relatively objective. Relatively easily found if you follow the properties directions rather than the *********** address, which my GPS couldn’t locate. Pleasant very rural property, with plenty of parking. The original Masseria has had the traditionally styled vaulted rooms added as an annexe - but they blend in very well with the older building. We were initially offered alimony, but found it dark, so upgraded to Cilego which was larger, lighter and offered a garden view. Clean, well appointed and comfortable. Decent bathroom. Gelso would be similar. The owner has little English, but between us we managed with Google Translate and a smile. She didn’t seem that pleased with life and didn’t exude any warmth - who knows what her problems were. Breakfast was a traditional Italian buffet, with decent coffee. We had one excellent evening meal when her very pleasant and engaging adult, English speaking son served but was clearly instructed to clear the table and depart! Pity about that…… Couldn’t find any decent restaurants in the near vicinity. WiFi range limited to the original building/office area. Quite expensive when compared to others. Decent touring base for the area."

"Nice hotel, but a lot of comments. We did not sleep in the hotel, but in some kind of bungalows on the property. Beds not too good, shower fine. Breakfast with lots of sweet things, cake and fruit. Fine for a few days. Unfortunately no bar. Coffee, beer and soft drinks are available at the reception, but there is often no beer or soft drinks in stock."
