"Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and about ten or fifteen minutes walk to balcon de europa and the main plaza. It’s also around the corner to the main bus stop so good location. My room was facing the Main Street so unfortunately it was very noisy especially with mopeds/ Scooters throughout the night. Ear plugs were available in the room so says it all really. Pool was closed and empty - I had intended to use the pool but I wasn’t informed prior to arrival 😕."

"Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The standard room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. There was a free safe. TV had many English Freeview channels. Breakfast was superb and staff were constantly refreshing everything. Wifi coverage was a bit limited, not extending much beyond the ground floor. Housekeeping was great: The rooms cleaned and towels replaced daily. The whole hotel was spotless. There was a large rooftop terrace furnished with plenty of comfortable sunbeds. The pool (closed until April) is not large enough to swim, but ample to cool off. Many clients reported returning year on year."

Hostal Marissal by Dorobe

"Hostel clean enough though the bathroom needs attention. Location perfect but keep in mind this is on a pedestrian area so for drop off and pick up there is a walk with your luggage. Beds and pillows very comfy. Walls quite thin not good if you have noisy guests next door. Otherwise not so noisy considering the location. Reception is not manned, we did see a girl there one day and she was very helpful and pleasant. The staff in the restaurant ( which joins on) do not really want to know you. Breakfast! Don’t know what to write. Enough to choose from though cheap and nasty, cooked items ( egg, beans and sausage) cold and under cooked. Better getting breakfast elsewhere. All that being said I don’t like to be negative, if you know what to expect it’s a nice place. Would I stay again? Probably, knowing how it is."

"An absolute gem of a place! The location is fantastic, a short 3-4 minute walk from Burriana Beach with its bars and restaurants. Our apartment was well-appointed and spacious, really clean and with good facilities. There is a supermarket (bit pricey but good choice) 3 mins walk away and a really nice bar halfway (we recommend El Fuego as a great spot for watching sports!). The garden and pool are perfect - tranquil, crystal-clear for swimming and a lovely place to unwind under the fixed cabana umbrellas. To get to the main part of Nerja with its bustlin streets, restaurants and the Balcon de Europe does involve a steep-ish initial walk for 2-3 mins but thereafter it's all on a level and within 12-15 mins youre in the heart of town. The main Nerja Bus station is a 15-20 min walk, again up an incline, but offers great options for excursions. We took a bus to beautiful Frigilia in the mountains and to the shopping centre and cinema at El Ingenio via Torres del Mar. Some things to be aware of: most Nerja nightlife is up in town. Burriana is lovely during the day but a bit quiet at night for teens. The apartments looking out towards the pool are quieter than the ones at the back, where you're next to a small roundabout (some noise from mopeds etc). The beach itself is a fine shingle rather than sand, but the water is lovely. Burriana is hugely popular so book a sunbed the afternoon before the day you want it! We visited as a family of 4 with teenage children and I would heartily recommend Almoraide as a great place for a summer holiday in Spain."
