The stay were very friendly and helpful.. even with our limited Japanese we managed quite well. "Mutsu is a small town on the fourth or fifth tier, and there is no one on the streets. The room was small as usual. I went to the food street recommended by the store clerk, but most of the food was closed. There is Lawson on the left side when you go out, Moshi Burger further on, and a large supermarket a few steps further. The prices are surprisingly similar to those in Tokyo. Prices in Japan are really the same across the country. There are too few Chinese people going to Shimokita for fun."

"1st time having Japanese tatami room. It give a much spacious look. I like it but not my wife. A bit difficult to get up and don't get use to sit cross leg on tatami. Like the view from hotel room and especially at top floor where we had our dinner and breakfast. Like the food served at both meals. A good location to stay to have sightseeing at Kawauchigawa keikoku stream and Hotoke-ga-ura Rock formation."
