"Staff very friendly and helpful. Had two meals and beer here. First meal of burger was good, second meal of pork belly was really very good both with local beer. Pub is busy but everyone friendly and make an effort to fit in if not booked. Stunning location and gardens."

"Had to pay a holding deposit but this was refunded promptly on checkout, close to a tesco superstore and fast food chain,rooms were fairly dated but slept fine"

Bridge House

"Bridge House was a great choice for our stop-over in Bampton. The room we stayed was great with a large bed and a great sized bathroom. Th room was spotlessly clean and we were treated to a lovely breakfast in the morning. Caroline was a great host and even supplied us with a fabulous cream tea on our arrival. Definitely highly recommended."

"We stayed in Room 7. Fantastic shower! Tea/coffee tray etc excellent. Hair dryer. No plug sockets near bed but asked at reception anc had extension lead given. Very soft double bed so i slept on single bed in room. Windows good to keep road noise out Very good receptionist. Great parking. No breakfast available on site as hotel at Motorway service station"

"Lovely old hotel right in the middle of Dulverton. Parking available at a pay and display a few metres away Welcomed by hotel manager and shown to room. Room was lovely and comfortable,. Plentiful supply of teas and coffees and penguin biscuits. Tiny issue with the TV but not worth complaining about. Kettle was cracked however taken to manager and changed immediately Pre ordered an evening meal, good choice of meals. Schnitzel was delicious and very tasty. Decent range of alchol, good cider on tap Breakfast was equally good as the evening meal. The mushrooms were the best Ive ever tasted. Buttery, melt in the mouth - lovely The chef us an absolute hidden treasure Room was a reasonable price with breakfast included Well worth a stay"

"This is one of the friendliest places I’ve ever been to. The staff could not have done enough for us. The food was lovely. My 3 year old grandson wasn’t feeling very well and didn’t want his dinner so they asked if he’d like some ice cream instead which made him very happy and soothed his sore throat and no charge for it. They also provided a container so we could take his dinner home for later. Would definitely recommend."

"I have visited the attractive Exeter Inn near bampton many times over very many years. It has varied in standard from owner to owner. However, since the spring of 2025 it has been operated by Michelle and Martyn who very evidently know how to run an excellent establishment. Together they have hit the mark and immediately I walked in, following a friends recommendatin that great things had happened, I felt a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. Greeted cheerfully by this relaxed but most efficient couple and their friendly staff, I sensed enthusiasm and pride. It was sunday lunch and a proper fire roared away as happy guests chatted and laughed. A full range of roasts were offered and my chicken with all the trimmings was really delicious, hot and well presented, without any delay. You can just tell when you are enjoying a good eatery and the Exeter Inn is exactly that ! Living locally, I shall be a frequent customer and I suggest that you visit soon because you will not be disappointed ! Lovely pub, restaurant and Inn."

"Great food good service and friendly staff. I only stayed 1 night on a tour of Devon and Somerset. Creaky floor and bed but it just gave more atmosphere. Would have given 5* but bathroom ceiling needs attention and repainting. Also generator going meant a bit of noise. Under £100.00 for room 3 course dinner & breakfast."
