During breakfast in the open-air dining room, you can watch the local tropical birds and enjoy a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The hostel is well-located and not far from the sights. My stay was very pleasant, and if I'm ever back in Mindo, I will definitely stay there again."

"I was directed to this small hotel by a local when my booking elsewhere fell through at the last minute. The rooms are modern and comfortable - mine had a jacuzzi - and most/all? overlook a subtropical garden full of flowers and birds. The owner is exceptionally helpful. She is a mini tourist office and can for example sell you tickets to various attractions including the butterfly farm. Note that she does not accept credit cards. The price was extremely reasonable, 75 US dollars per night for a double room including breakfast."

"Location is fantastic close to all the tours. If you get a cottage you can sleep with the river flowing in the background. The grounds are full of beautiful landscaping and flowers. Love the 3 dogs who are super friendly. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Maria is amazing! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious & served like a 5 star establishment. Short walking distance to center which had a lot of restaurants and shops. Do ensure to do the water falls hike and zip lining tour. "

"Set in a very rural area, we were surprised to walk in and see that the menu was mainly Swiss dishes. Coming from Switzerland, this definitely came as a surprise. Skeptical at first, we decided to go full Swiss menu. All I can say: truly authentic, very tasty, and very fresh. Not at all what we expected, but even more of a delight to see and taste the great food. On top of that, they served the best bread in all of Ecuador we tasted, baked in their custom made stone oven. The accommodation was fairly simple but very cozy and super clean. Nearly all of our activities that we had planned were reachable on foot and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Ignacio was a great host, and we got to enjoy some early morning bird watching with him right in our front yard. There's also a cool maze to get lost in, that you can see was built with a lot of passion. Fully recommend staying here when staying in Mindo."
