"What a lovely place to stay! Having breakfast with the hummingbirds was amazing. Luis and Esperanza were so friendly and helpful. They made us a delicious breakfast every day. It was extra but worth it. Close to the centre of town and easy to get everywhere. A 4km walk to el jardín de mariposas was very worthwhile. Luis was kind enough to arrange for a taxi to pick us up there. Highly recommend staying here."

"Was like a four star resort for a one star price. Management was very helpful and accommodating. My room was upstairs in a cabin/treehouse, with a shared bathroom. I had the entire floor to myself, living room included. Extensive landscaped grounds, pool and private massage area. Walked to town, and to some nearby hikes. Mindo has a lot to do, but terrain can be rugged and weather is rainy. Best part? Homemade breakfast in the garden. That's a vacation!"

"We spent 3 days in Dana and truly enjoyed it. Very nice large rooms with balconies, manicured full of flowers. Great food. Wery welcoming staff. Our guide Byron was very helpful, gave us great tours to watch, birds, butterflies, orchids, chocolate and coffee factories where we saw the full process of production. They pick you from Quito and brought us back there. On the way we had a great stop on equator - what an experience! Overall - highly recommended!"

"I was directed to this small hotel by a local when my booking elsewhere fell through at the last minute. The rooms are modern and comfortable - mine had a jacuzzi - and most/all? overlook a subtropical garden full of flowers and birds. The owner is exceptionally helpful. She is a mini tourist office and can for example sell you tickets to various attractions including the butterfly farm. Note that she does not accept credit cards. The price was extremely reasonable, 75 US dollars per night for a double room including breakfast."

"Location is fantastic close to all the tours. If you get a cottage you can sleep with the river flowing in the background. The grounds are full of beautiful landscaping and flowers. Love the 3 dogs who are super friendly. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Maria is amazing! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious & served like a 5 star establishment. Short walking distance to center which had a lot of restaurants and shops. Do ensure to do the water falls hike and zip lining tour. "

"Just one night here and loved the place; great food, great jazucci after a full morning of walking and bird-watching. The 'rosti suizo' breakfast, with coffee and mango juice hit the spot. A nice place to escape and enjoy nature. The dining area is superb for relaxing and bird-watching."
