Methven Resort

"The resort was comfortable and clean , I did miss the hot pools that used to be there . The staff were very good ,and the food delicious. I was a bit annoyed when trying to sit in the lounge restaurant area , at all the children running around , screaming without parental guidance . It was not a relaxing ambience as there were so many kids running and screaming I could not talk to my freind . I was extremely surprised to find a child in resort uniform behind the bar . I’m from Australia, and this would be illegal , so I did feel I was in a big nursery with adults having drinks . Good for families , but a a couple of people just wanting a drink and dinner . No One two year hit his hand , banged in a big chest lid he was digging around in . The high screams and wails were scary , and I’m not sure why the parents left them . Otherwise my stay was great ."

"Got to be the best Pub in town. Great ambience, great drinks, even great food. Enjoyed our experience."

"Shared bathrooms, great location, within walking distance of a supermarket, free parking, and a bar downstairs. Overall, it's more suitable for skiers than families."

"Great accommodation. Warm, welcoming and efficient reception. Tidy rooms with such nice beds and clean sheets. Nice open space to cook and relax. Clean!!"

Methven Motel & Apartments

"The heating was adequate and even a bit warm. Accommodation in Tekapo was too expensive, so I chose this as a stopover on my way to Christchurch. There's a hiking spot nearby."

"Stayed at the van park,toilets were filthy & no toilet paper. Cooked a meal in the kitchen had to clean up before we cooked. Bin overflowing, kitchen floor desperately needed a sweep. $1.00 a hot shower put in a dollar no shower, went to reception to complain, no manager, rang managers number no answer, very surprised it has so many good reviews bit of a dump really."

Mount Hutt Motels

"We received a very warm welcome when we checked in for our one night stopover. Our room was older style, but was clean and well equipped, and we liked the character of the place. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fine for us to cook our evening meal. The gardens are well kept, and there is a lovely outdoor picnic/bbq area, which we would have used if the weather had been better. There was a dvd player, and a large choice of films in reception. It’s quite close to the centre of town, and within walking distance of a few pubs and restaurants."
