"We only stayed in Messina overnight and needed a clean and comfortable place prior catching the ferry to Reggio Calabria next morning. Vittoria House of Charme was better than we’d imagined. We were warmly greeted by our host who proudly showed us around. Slept soundly in one of the most comfortable beds of this trip! Breakfast served by the lovely Mary was great by Italian standards. It included boiled eggs, cheeses, good bread, lettuce, olives, tomatoes, pastries and excellent coffee (we don’t eat meat). Very grateful to have some savoury options. Mary kindly organised a taxi to the ferry for us after breakfast. Not much was open nearby on the Sunday night we were there. We were lucky to find somewhere to eat within a 15 minute walk."

"My reservation was for two people and they gave me a single room. I suggested they give me the double room that was on my reservation and they said we would be comfortable in it because the bed was big. TRUE. The bed was fine and we accepted it, but a hotel has to accept its mistake and, above all, treat its customers well. That offer to change rooms was missing, even though we would have accepted the one we had. Another thing is the facilities. They are old. Very dirty carpeted floor and other deficiencies that a hotel of this category should not have. The same thing happens with breakfast. Totally deficient. No hot food, no fruit and only water to drink. We could only choose between some sweets and some tubs of jam and butter I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone I hope that all this time I have dedicated helps them take note and customers receive better service."

"We made a reservation by phone for the Cairoli B&B in Piazza Cairoli, and upon our arrival, we were redirected to another place on a street behind the square with no sign whatsoever. The entrance was dilapidated, and when we returned that evening, a cockroach even crawled under our feet. The rooms were small to medium, with cracked walls and a questionable shower with a blocked stall that was impossible to close. We paid €80 in cash, with no receipt whatsoever. For less, you can find much, much better options in Messina."

"I'm still trying to figure out where the design of this place is... maybe in the cleanliness close to zero, or in the smell similar to the bathrooms of a station, or even in the mold present in the refrigerator and in the folded handkerchief that holds the glass door of the bathtub! The only nice thing is the breakfast room that overlooks the sea, if you don't look at the dirty dishes encrusted, who knows how long! In short, definitely to be avoided"

Not for family with children. Wouldn’t walk outside at night. Lying manager. 5 beds scattered about. Bout 5 keys to u lock dungeon type doors. Caged elevator from 1940’s. We ran away!!"

Only breakfast in the room a little disappointing compared to the complex. For the rest very good. It has a private parking with no very large payment"
