"The Pension/Hotel Verdorfer is simply very recommendable. We are now the third year with the family Verdorfer and are enthusiastic every time. The breakfast is very rich and always fresh, the rooms are clean and you have everything you need, just the view of Meran is wonderful. It is also recommended to breakfast on the beautiful terrace. The outdoor area is always maintained, the pool is comfortable and clean. There is enough lying and also small pergola invited to stay, even a sauna. The family and the team are very helpful and will try to do so well for the guests. The home kitchen enchanted wonderful dishes at very pleasant price, there is also a pleasant dining in the house. Even a car load pillar is available or that one or other company game for couples and families if the weather does not play with. We will be happy to come back."

The staff is absolutely lovely, they’ll make reservations at the baths (the peel and wrap is a trip) and have spa bags (robe & towel) for rent, and I really like their single rooms (#209) - the balcony and hallway make it seem much larger. "The care shown by staff to achieve the highest level of service makes this hotel the luxury oasis which it is. To be welcomed with warm towels after a long journey and then a welcome glass of Prosecco before being shown to our room where our luggage had already arrived is the sort of thing that really makes a difference. From day one, we were recognised and known by staff, frequently being addressed by name. The presence of the friendly family owners ensures a high level of consistency in standards. The rooms and suites are beautifully maintained, serviced twice daily (the evening turn down being optional), fresh towels every time the room is serviced, fresh bedding every two days and clean bathrobes every four. All rooms have balconies but not all have great views (some face buildings) so be careful with room choice if this matters to you. The outdoor areas are stunning with plenty of options to relax in the garden, by the pool or on the roof terrace. The indoor/outdoor pool is excellent, as is the spa. Indoor relaxation areas around the pool and spa are also very good. Food is a real highlight from a very extensive breakfast buffet including a show kitchen for freshly cooked eggs. Food is prepared and replenished constantly with a chef slicing salmon and fruit as breakfast progresses. Coffee options are very good too. Dinner is different every evening with numerous courses, a daily salad buffet and occasional special buffets such as fish starters, cheese and desserts. The wine list is very extensive with a huge range from reasonably priced options to the much more expensive choices."

One note is about breakfast: although the variety of proposals is limited, the quality and absolute freshness of the products make it really excellent, and they are far better than quantity."

Rooms and bathrooms are a bit small and the area is exposed to busy road. Parking lots are fine for small car, with bigger cars you have a challenge. Overall we liked our stay and will come again."

Downside: wifi can be challenging, house needs some TLC (updates and repairs) . No A/C but we were here in October. Days were hot but room stayed cool. Might not be the case in July. Owner / manager was nice. Different sense of humor. Note: yes, they keep your passport overnight. Welcome to Italy."

"My partner and I stayed in Merano in this hotel with a retro Habsburg style for 7 nights from August 16th to 23rd! We were wonderfully welcomed with warmth and attention as soon as we arrived! Attention to detail, cleanliness of both the structure and our room was top notch! Garden, flowers, the terrace of the structure with a breathtaking view to enjoy, two swimming pools and two saunas that my partner really appreciated! Excellent and relaxing breakfast and two quality dinners! At the reception you can find organized excursions of all kinds every day and finally the fact that we don't have a car, the management thought of offering us two passes valid for a week on all public transport in Trentino (truly the icing on the cake)!! Compliments to the owners and all the staff! Greetings from Adry & Ludy To return RECOMMENDED"
