Seeing that our suitcases were big, the landlord arranged a room on the first floor so we didn't have to climb too many steps."

While there are plenty of coffee shops in the vicinity, there are no nearby markets. On the bright side, several restaurants are within easy reach, providing a variety of dining options. The location of the pension is another highlight, being close to a stunning castle. The nearby bridge offers a great spot for photography, capturing the picturesque scenery. Security at the pension is commendable, providing peace of mind during the stay. Parking can be a bit tricky due to the different pricing for blue and green plates, which vary between weekdays and weekends. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience at Pension Babenberger was very positive. The warmth of the interior, even during the chilly December weather, made our four-day stay enjoyable and comfortable. "Hotel Wachau is well located if you have a car. Otherwise it’s a mile uphill from the centre. The food was delicious. The bedroom was large but much too hot to sleep well as there is no air conditioning and not even a fan to cool the air down a little."
