For unclear reasons, we could not stay at Riad Zyna, and our stay was rebooked to Riad Ritaj. We returned to Zyna anyway, and things still remained unclear there. We did not find this a pleasant state of affairs. And we are now reading in the reviews that this happens frequently. Therefore, our advice: DO NOT BOOK HERE."

"Visually the place is okay, with a roof terrace with a good view of hills and the medina for sunset. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent, but the room was cold. The owner is a bit of clown, and the breakfast is very poor, with no eggs. My booking was for 2 people, including breakfast for 2 people, but since I am just one person, the least they could do is throw in a couple of fried eggs and some pleasant Moroccan hospitality — but there was none. No English is spoken, so make sure your French is good enough to complain about the poor, glucose-spiking, protein-less peasant’s breakfast."

"A beautiful looking riad in a great area however it lacked the friendliness that all the other riafs we've stayed at offered. The female manger who greeted us was lovely, unfortunately the male manager on the evening and next morning shift was gruff, unfriendly, unhelpful and intolerant of guests children. No greetings or farewell and he didn't offer or assist us with carrying our luggage downstairs. His attitude changed the whole feeling of the place. Such a shame as I couldn't have faulted anything else except the beds are very hard and dinner although nice, quite pricey. Hopefully the owners see this review and do something about the manager."

"We stayed at the Hotel Swani as part of an Intrepid tour of Morocco. The hotel was clean but basic. The room was generally comfortable but the air conditioning was noisy and interrupted our sleep. The restaurant at the top of the building was also basic and the food not great - saying that the girl that served us dinner and breakfast was simply lovely."

"Hotel location and service attitude are very good. It is close to the attractions, but the equipment is very old, the refrigerator has to be pulled to sleep, otherwise it is the tractor business. Air conditioning is also loud. There is no swimming pool, just a pool on the roof, you can soak your feet. Overall, it was the front desk that checked out on the last day. I felt very unhappy and pulled my face. The first lady who stayed in front was okay. There is a restaurant next to it, and the music is too noisy to hear the whole street. But it has nothing to do with the hotel. The overall price is a bit high."

"We had a reservation, yet we were refused entry because we are an unmarried couple. "You should have asked me, I would have told you; the authorities don't mess around with that." We traveled throughout Morocco and never encountered this problem. Establishments usually specify it on their websites! In 2025, in a tourist city like Meknes, we were somewhat surprised. If they had simply stated this, we wouldn't have booked. We can certainly understand the rules when they are clearly explained. Thank you for not offering any assistance; we left with our suitcases after only a few minutes."

"This is a good hotel five minutes walk from the Al Amir Meknes train station and about 30 minutes walk from the medina of Meknes. Also not far from the CTM bus station if required. The room I was given was huge and looked to be recently refurbished. In fact they are refurbishing the whole hotel at present. The only down point was that the TV didn't work. Breakfast was served to you and was the usual continental type. There are plenty of cafes and shops nearby. The staff are exceptionally polite and helpful."

"Unfortunately I have a disappointing review to tell. I book a room with my friend in January whilst booking short noticed. We arrived have an hour later and found closed doors. Trying to call the number written on the door, nobody responded nor answered. We were waiting in front of the door until 21.00 when the check-in time stops. Tired from our journey we were forced to find another accommodation and they won't refund our money. Later they contacted us, saying that the guy of the shift was staying on the roof and couldn't hear our telephone nor the knocking ..."
