"We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel. We had a lovely time. Yes some of the rooms are a bit dated but it is clean and the staff are lovely, especially in the restaurant. There was a lot of choice for breakfast. Dinner was chosen the night before, there were three options for starters and main, and two for dessert. There was also a salad bar Food was good and service excellent. This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and the ferries. 10 mins walk from the bus station. The only down side for us was the noise at night. We were over the pizza restaurant attached to the hotel and could be noisy at night, but it was mostly closed by 10pm so didn't really cause us too many problems."

"The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in and we have travelled to over 20 Countries. The Location is heavenly. Right on the Lake, beautiful sun loungers, lovely garden and hot tub over looking the lake. Breakfast room is stunning with magnificent views surrounded by floor to ceiling glass. Linen table cloths. Great buffet spread with everything and different cured meat and fish every day. The service and staff were amazing. The owner Marco is a treasure, will do anything for you. We had a very early departure and he made us a breakfast to take with us. Very quiet area yet only 50 metres to main area. Our room was a bit small but a beautiful balcony overlooking the mountains and all amenities were provided, shower gel and hand soap. Superb bed linen and towels. Would stay here for ever."

"2 adults, 2 kids (10 and 7). Perfect stay for all of us. Such a beautiful hotel and a beautiful setting. Chilled out vibe, lots of sunbed space around the pool, lovely breakfast and lovely staff. The lake is literally right at your doorstep, which meant we could go for an evening sunset swim while the kids chilled out in the room for a few minutes. The lake was always calm because it's sheltered from the moutnain winds by the little peninsula, silky smooth and clean water. We walked into Malcesine most days, brought our togs and took a few dips in the lake on the way (lovely walkway all the way, just a small patch that's shared with cars up to Spar). Also took a boat trip to Limone . If you want bikes for kids, you have to bring them with you, couldn't rent kids bikes unfortunately because the bike paths follow the lake. Would definitely love to come back. What a serene and beautiful place ."

"Just returned from a lovely time in Malcesine , Lake Garda . Hotel is an excellent choice if you are looking for a clean, friendly and convenient to centre of Malcesine. A few steps to the cable which takes you up Mount Baldo -a must !! Breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beautiful gardens that surround the hotel . Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The new salt pool brings some welcomed cool waters after a warm day in the sun. We book the Panaramic room overlooking the castle and lake. This was perfect for us as we get married in the castle next year . Whilst staying in Malcesine , we viewed some other hotels for our stay next year . We decided to rebook this hotel as it ticked all the boxes for us. Well done to all the staff for making our stay an enjoyable one . See you next year."

"Stayed at the Majestic Palace on 26th May for a week. Overall a very nice hotel. Very nice room with balcony and view of the Garda lake and mountains. Good breakfast and dinner buffet with lots to choose from - apart from not being a big fan of buffets we have nothing to complain about. 25 minute walk to the centre but also a cheap minibus from the hotel. Not a 5 star experience but a good 4 star."

"We stayed at Hotel Augusta for our Honeymoon in August, booked via TUI.. The hotel was in a perfect location for us. We loved having a mountain view room overlooking Monte Baldo and the cable car - was brilliant being able to sit on the large balcony and watch the cable car or paragliders. It was an easy walk for us (could be more challenging if you had mobility issues) to the restaurants, osterias, gelaterias, shops, bus station and the ferry but was far enough away to feel calm and peaceful. The room itself was a good size, simply furnished and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of breads, cakes, fruits plus cheese, meats, cereal, yogurt etc and the coffee machine made pretty good drinks too. You could even make your own smoothie. The pool area was a peaceful oasis with lovely trees and a view of the castle. Lay on your sunlounger you could look up and watch the paragliders descending. Even though we were there in the August holiday week for Italians and the hotel was busy there was always still plenty of space to sit/lay available at the pool area. The only slight downsides that prevented me giving a five star rating were that on the days when we went on excursions to Verona and to The Dolomites we had to be at the bus station to be picked up at 8 am and because breakfast at the hotel didn’t start till 8 this created a little issue. We asked at reception if we could get a sort of packed lunch style breakfast on these days but they suggested calling into the breakfast area just before we left and take what we like from what had been laid out. The problem was that what had been put out at that time wasn’t very portable. The other minor issue was that although the bathroom was of a good size the shower itself was quite small and I kept banging myself on the fittings. Overall, these minor points don’t detract from this being an excellent hotel but are just little things that could be improved."

We were told the prices are the same, and we should have told them we wanted to be in the main hotel buildings. "

"Absolutely awful. The food was disgusting and inedible to the point we stopped eating at the hotel, no variety and the food is just not cooked properly. The aircon in the room was broken and the staff didn’t move us to a room with working aircon until our last night. The elevators broke down repeatedly meaning we had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs in +30 degree heat. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to enjoy lake Garda."

We stayed in room 304 (Comfort top view) and the view was spectacular, both from the bedroom and bathroom. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fabulous - they thought of everything. The hosts and staff were all friendly and welcoming. "We booked Hotel Vega almost 10months in advance because we were told how good it is. Those recommendations were 100% correct. We booked a junior suite which was located overlooking the lake, on the first floor with fabulous views. The room was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The beds are comfortable and we had restful sleep each night. With room service and a mini bar in our room, as well as plenty of cupboard and drawer space our stay was very comfortable. The bathroom had everything we needed including a spacious walk-in shower with hand-held and rain shower heads. Breakfast was included in the price we paid and their dining room is spacious with an excellent choice of food options. The management and staff are exceptional. Friendly, helpful, professional, kind and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is located within a short walk of the town, the ferry and boat docks and a vast array of fabulous restaurants; the staff at the hotel recommended several of them, we were not disappointed."

"We stayed at the hotel in July. The hotel itself is beautiful the location outstanding. The Breakfast was ok although a bit samey. But ok. The room was nice , clean , & the balcony looking over the lake was 10/10. BUT ……. Sadly the hotel in the evenings is soulless. The lights for some reason aren’t switched on so it’s very uninviting. It looks like it’s shut. ! We were hoping to use the hotel on the odd evening to eat there and have a few drinks etc , but even with the Euros on the TV it had absolutely no atmosphere , there were only 7 or 8 other people in there , sitting in the dark. Really awful.! We had food just that one evening , we decided to sit there to watch the football and again it’s very hard to mess up a cheese and ham toastie and a portion of chips. But they did. ! The whole lot went back. I mentioned this to front reception and was told they were sorry. I’m afraid for a 4 star Hotel the restaurant side of things is well below par. Disappointing !"

"I booked a single room at Hotel Modena in Malcesine directly from the hotel website several months in advance. Malcesine is the most charming town around Lake Garda, IMO, and since it's tiny and crowded, it pays to book accommodation as long in advance as you can. Besides, there are limited choices for budget hotels around Lake Garda. Anyway, close to my arrival, the ATV bus company stated that there would be no bus service from Garda to Malcesine on the day I was planning to arrive, May 1, because it is a National Day in Italy (it turned out there were buses, after all, but that's another story!). So I contacted the hotel to change my dates, and they promptly acquiesced. I asked for an early checkin, and I was graciously allowed to checkin at 12:30PM. I had also asked for a quiet room on the highest floor, and I was happy to see my room (#311) was on the top floor (there's an elevator). Thanks to Doina's tireless and thorough cleaning, the room was pristine; the bedsheets were the cleanest I've seen in Italy, a brilliant white. Since the weather was cold, the kind and helpful Joshua showed me how to turn the heat on. The only thing I would change is very minor: a handheld shower, instead of the fixed shower head. Breakfast is plentiful, including both sweet and flavory choices, and even some fresh fruit. Always with a smile, Doina is making sure that breakfast fares are replenished, so there's never an unmet need. After checkout, I was allowed to store the luggage for the rest of the day. I cannot praise enough the professionalism, and kindness, of the staff at Hotel Modena in Malcesine."
