Secondly, all the doors in the room are the old-fashioned wooden doors, which don't insulate well. Unlike the newer hotel doors, they don't have a soft cushioning effect when closing. Also, wooden doors swell when damp, sometimes getting stuck when you close them and requiring a lot of force to slam them shut with a loud bang, which also causes noise. Everything else is fine, but I'm a light sleeper, so I can't stand the noise. I haven't slept very well these past two nights.
