"This hotel is desperately in need of a refurbishment. It is incredibly tired and below par even for a low-budget hotel. As a disabled person, I was disgusted by how out of touch they were with code in this day and age, including a serious violation. We had very hard beds, which I couldn't sleep on, so I ended up with no sleep. The showers were over a bath (not very practical for a disabled person, especially with no bath seat), and the water pressure was basically a dribble, so it took forever to wash long hair.
All in all, it's a shame the hotel itself is so disappointing, as it is in an ideal location for stopping off when traveling through, and it's situated beside a beautiful lake. The staff were very polite."

"I was greeted as a returning customer but hadn’t been there for 17years
The staff were very friendly and helpful and polite
The service I received was excellent and the food was excellent that I received
The first room I stayed in was a little bit tired but as it’s a single bed room it was more than acceptable
The second night was a different room as I extended my stay and was a superior single and was more in price but I found it to be excellent
A great hotel with great staff and would recommend a stay if you’re passing through Lockerbie or need a hotel base in the area"

"My trip , was disrupted before we even arrived at the hotel, we contacted Alison at the Village In to advise her we would be much later than expected and have to leave earlier than expected the next day. She was extremely accommodating and whent out of her way to assist and provide a very pleasant stay.
I would definitely return next time I'm in the area."
