ATTENTION!!!
We booked a 26 sq. meter room, but were given a room that was only 13 sq. meters. They showed us two other rooms, and they were also around 13 sq. meters.
The hallway is under renovation: it's narrow and very stuffy. We weren't informed about the renovations beforehand, which was an unpleasant surprise.
After my complaint, the manager offered to refund the cost of one night's stay. I refused and am leaving my review.
For this price, you could stay at the 5-star Rex Hotel, located in the very center of the city, and get a room 2-3 times larger.
Reviews for this hotel are questionable – it seems many of them are fake.
😊 If very small rooms don't bother you, everything else is perfectly fine.

Anonymous UserPros:
Historic building, pleasant courtyard with an indoor pool.
Ample toiletries provided in the bathroom, not just single items.
Attentive staff for cleaning and delivering amenities.
Cons:
The staff don't seem to understand the concept of guest service. Breakfast waiters practically knock you over, trying to get past first. The person delivering luggage to the room told us, 'I'll go first, you take the next elevator.' 😂
Breakfast needs a special mention:
Breakfast hours are until 9:30 AM, but in other hotels in Ho Chi Minh City where we stayed, breakfast was until at least 10:00 AM or 10:30 AM. However, the breakfast time isn't the only issue; waiters start clearing tables and milk pitchers at 9:00 AM, instead of serving guests. They focus on cleaning and clattering dishes, subtly hinting that breakfast is over. Furthermore, not once during our entire stay did anyone offer to bring/pour coffee. Cappuccinos and lattes are made by a separate barista; you can't make these drinks yourself from the coffee machine. There are no freshly squeezed juices. And what's unacceptable is the sour and overcooked vegetables – broccoli and cauliflower. It's surprising that the hotel management isn't monitoring the quality of their establishment; for comparison, look at the Pullman hotel.
In the evening, the cleaning lady in the fitness center was making a lot of noise while cleaning the changing room, making it difficult to concentrate even with headphones on.
Suggestions for the hotel: Train the staff on service and sort out the breakfast issues.

Tomoya MiyakiLocated right in the heart of HCM, the main street in front of the hotel becomes a pedestrian zone on weekend nights, so vehicle access is restricted during those hours, but otherwise, it's fine. I happened to be staying there on my birthday, and the hotel surprised me with a letter, flowers, and cake. It was a lovely surprise! While the facilities are a bit old, there aren't any major issues. Perhaps because it's a hot country, the maximum temperature for the shower is 38 degrees Celsius. When you've been in air conditioning for a long time, you really want hotter water. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. It's a 4-star hotel, but I'd say it's at least 4.5, if not 5. The hospitality and service, however, are definitely 5-star quality.

HKTasterOverall, the hardware is excellent, but the front desk service needs improvement.
My overall stay was actually quite good. The hotel lobby is spacious and beautiful, with a strong sense of design, and there are many comfortable seats, making the wait during check-in quite pleasant. The room was also satisfactory – clean, spacious, and equipped with a bathtub; the overall hardware facilities were excellent.
The breakfast was the highlight. The breakfast area is on the top floor, where you can walk out onto the outdoor terrace to enjoy views of Ho Chi Minh City. The morning breeze was very refreshing. The food selection was incredibly diverse, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Indian cuisines, offering such a wide variety it felt like a dinner buffet, just without seafood. One or two floors above the top floor, there’s also a large infinity pool, with a very relaxing environment. However, the pool is quite deep, reaching around shoulder height, so be mindful when using it.
However, some unpleasant incidents occurred on the day of check-out. There's an electronic entertainment/game area on the 4th floor, and staff mentioned that each guest room receives a USD25 voucher. After I collected the voucher for my room, my friend was checking out of their room next to me. I reminded the front desk staff to give them their voucher, but the staff member seemed to ignore me and continued with the check-out process. Only afterwards did they say that since the room was already checked out, they couldn't issue the voucher. When I tried to explain further, the staff member became impatient and even slammed documents on the counter, making their colleagues a bit awkward. Ultimately, I had to escalate the issue to another manager, who then helped to cancel the original check-out process and re-issue the voucher to my friend.
Additionally, for a hotel of this caliber, I had expected a welcome drink to be offered proactively, but it was self-service, requiring guests to fetch it themselves. I felt that the attention to service details could be better.
In summary, the hotel's hardware, rooms, breakfast, and pool are all quite good, but the front desk's service attitude and how they handle guest inquiries still have room for improvement. The hardware is highly recommended, but the service experience didn't fully align with the hotel's positioning.

i found the location to be great after a day of business had no problem finding restaurants for a good feed and a few drinks
transportation was easy to be able to get around .
the service from the staff were friendly and helpful and there security guards were happy to help you navigate outside
language will always be a problem no matter where you are in the world so a good translator device would be handy
and if its the night life your after the location couldn't be better
as for the room itself the only thing i could complain about was there was no tv not that i was in the room long enough to watch ,
after a day out you get back to a nice shower then hit the town and no problem falling asleep on a comfortable bed late at night
i would recommend to anyone who's not interested in all the frills & spills but a place that's clean, great location, and helpful staff

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in the Rivergate Residence. The location in District 4 is perfect just a quick bridge crossing away from District 1 and major spots like Ben Thanh Market and Bui Vien. The room itself was clean, modern, and offered an incredible view of the city skyline. Having a 7-Eleven and WinMart right on the ground floor made grabbing snacks and water incredibly convenient. The host was also very responsive and made the check-in process smooth. Would definitely stay here again!

So I want to clarify, the beds were clean and this property is literally a 15 mins walk to nearly all tourist attractions in the city. There are streets of food, big shopping centers and more around. When I messaged the staff about problems they did get back to me. It was pretty and the bed was comfortable.
Me and my partner had a good time but we'd just spent a month on an island so basic accommodation was fine for us.
However I need to warn people that there are three things I would have HATED about this place if I wasn't happy to be in civilization again.
1. The noise! From 10pm-3am the club on top of the sky scraper is so loud the floor shakes. I had headphones in playing thunder storms and I literally had to put a jumper over my head so I couldn't feel the vibrations.
2. The water is awful! It's clean but so touch and go if it works and if it will be hot. We had the room with the bath tub and we couldn't even fill it 1/4 of the way. And even then it was cold by the time it got to that. It would randomly not be working for periods of time so you couldn't flush the loo and the pressure was so bad your bum touched the wall from how little was coming out the shower.
3. It is not a swimming pool, it is a hot tub size at best and it was dirty. Green and cloudy and had scum on the top.
We also noticed little ants over most surfaces so things like retainers and tooth brushes would attract them and the stools on the balcony were mouldy.
Again these things didn't take away from our experience as much as they normally would have but I'm warning those who go to keep it all in mind.
ALSO MESSAGE BEFORE YOU ARRIVE! we found a bloke at 12 midnight who couldn't speak English with his suitcase unable to get a hold of anyone because he hadn't read the small print. Please don't get stuck outside at night by making this mistake.
