One of the best hotel experiences I've had, and the first impression set the tone perfectly. Upon arrival, our bags were immediately taken by staff, and before we even reached the front desk, we were warmly greeted, guided to a seating area, and served fresh fruit, cold tea, and a refreshing wet towel — all while check-in was handled seamlessly. That kind of hospitality is rare. We booked two rooms, both beautifully decorated in a unique cave-themed style. Each room came with a jacuzzi bathtub, excellent shower pressure, and an automatic bidet with a heated seat — thoughtful touches that made a real difference. The air-conditioning was wonderfully cold, a true relief in Vietnam's heat. The toiletries were paraben-free, which I genuinely appreciated, and the hairdryer was a solid Dyson dupe, very functional and stylish. Room size was comfortable for two guests. Breakfast was included, as was afternoon tea — both a lovely bonus. The location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance of Malaysia Street's halal eateries and Ben Thanh Market. Exceptional value for money. Highly recommended, and I will absolutely be returning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Independence Palace and Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office, both about a 5-minute walk away. There are good restaurant options nearby, and if you want to take a city tour bus, you can catch it right in front of the post office. The hotel ambiance is great, with a vintage yet modern decor. The hotel's cleanliness is also commendable. For breakfast, they offer both Vietnamese local specialties and Western options. All hotel staff can speak English. If you'd like to see the traditional Vietnamese water puppet show, you can turn right out of the hotel and walk straight for about 10 minutes to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater.

The location is good, the room is very clean. The service is good too. I am happy with all of this. What made me unhappy and inconvenient, the reasons I gave two stars for amenties are as follows: 1) toilet - clean yes, but the water pump is top strong and inconvenient to press, feel like I am pressing a broken handle water pump. 2) trash bin - in the toilet, it is difficult to push down the cover, too strong, so always ended up touching my hand with the cover where most of the trashed from the toilet were in contact with while pushing down. In the room, the cover, always need to use hands to remove the cover. 3) Electricity plug sockets - should have at least two free, one each by each bed. But what we had to use is the one for TV plug, the one for night light bulb (between the bed). Only one free socket by the mirror in the bedroom. So very inconvenience for two persons to charge our phones or laptops.

Caveat that I spent most of the time outside touring HCMC so I’m not too fussed about the accommodations. That said, the location is excellent - walking distance to many amenities, nice street food, and even some decent nightlife venues nearby. If I were to complain, it’ll be that the window didn’t have much of a view. But again, not too fussed there.

Our family of four stayed for two nights and it was pretty good. Clean and comfortable, and the location was also fine. The rooftop pool is beautiful and spacious 😍. Having a couple of drinks by the pool at night was really chill 🍻.

I stayed at Au Lac Legend Hotel and found the location very convenient, with most attractions within walking distance. The rooftop pool, lounge deck, and midday tea were nice highlights, and the front desk was helpful with organizing tours. The price meets expectations for what you get. However, the service was disappointing. It often took multiple requests for drinks, table cleanup at breakfast, and even room cleaning, and the staff seemed overworked. I also booked two rooms with windows, but neither room actually had one.

Excellent value! We even got a room upgrade. The room was a good size, with a bidet spray and smart TV. The staff were incredibly helpful; we were able to check in early, getting our room around 11 AM. They were always there to open doors for us and even helped us track our Grab rides, making sure the right car arrived. Fantastic service all around! The location is great, close to Saigon Square, KOI cafe, 7-11, Phela, and Highlands Coffee. It's just a short walk to the main road on the other side, and you can even walk to the Cafe Apartment if you're up for it. Right next to the hotel is a souvenir shop. The only downsides are that there's a restaurant/bar across the street, so it can get noisy at night, and the bathroom doesn't have a separate wet and dry area. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

I went to Ho Chi Minh City with friends, but I didn't do my research well 😂. The hotel's location wasn't ideal; there was always traffic congestion, and it was quite far from the city center. If I were to go again, I think I would choose the Ben Thanh area. Otherwise, it was okay. It seems the hotel doesn't provide housekeeping for consecutive stays; we stayed two nights and they didn't give us new towels, so we had to ask the front desk for them when we got back at night.

Stayed in May 2026. This used to be a hostel, but it's under new management now. The service was excellent, and they've repainted the place. All the amenities, including towels, have been replaced with new ones. The updated location isn't showing on Google Maps yet.
