"The hotel maintains good cleanliness standards, and while insects are occasionally present (as is common in tropical island settings), regular pest management helps keep things comfortable. The pool is available for a refreshing dip, and many guests enjoy the simple, natural ambiance. Renting a motorbike for 150,000 VND per day is a practical and affordable way to get around, and Google Maps works well for navigating the island independently. The Wi-Fi can be inconsistent, so if you need to work online, planning ahead or using mobile data as a backup is helpful. Breakfast features a local Vietnamese touch, with a choice of chicken soup or a sandwich, both served with coffee—a nice, no-fuss way to start the morning. Airport transfer available: 300000vnd per way"

"I've visited Con Dao a few times, and this was my first stay at The Secret Con Dao. The staff were pretty good and attentive. The breakfast buffet was decent. The room was spacious and clean. They offer free airport transfer if you register in advance with the hotel. However, there was one drawback: the main lobby was hot on the day I arrived. I came back from lunch and was waiting to check in, but the lobby was almost as hot as it was outside, and I had to use a handheld fan to cool down. The hotel really needs to improve this."
"The room has a teapot and a refrigerator. The hotel is on foot from the sea.
I arrived early in the morning but the staff member was very kind to me.
The only minus is a noisy air conditioner."
"The room is nice and has everything you need. It's located on the third line, but everything is close. The room is cleaned daily.
The receptionist is friendly and tries to help guests with everything.
Breakfast is a choice of three local soups, salad leaves, fruit, yogurt, and tea or coffee. It's enough to keep you full until the evening.
The room was clean, rated at 4 (see photo).
I booked a room with a garden view for a quieter stay – it's a quiet area after 10 PM, and at most, it's too crowded with other hotel guests.
The garden itself is unremarkable, a small decorative aquarium with a few bushes – don't expect a picturesque park.
Around 6 AM, roosters will start waking you up. There's no escape from them here."
"We stayed at Con Dao house for 5 nights and we had a very pleasant experience!
The room was clean and modern and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful!
There are places to sit in the common area too which is nice if you come with friends and you need somewhere to sit together.
Although breakfast isn’t included, there are many shops nearby to try different foods so it isn’t a problem!
You can rent electric bikes or normal bikes if you need too! Definitely recommend this place!
They also have a shuttle service which is very good!"
"You are my girlfriend, so I will not lose you alone, but you also have to understand that I am all on my own efforts to make money, the family can not help me.
It is indeed a little hard now, but I don't care, and you are not feeling how, you have to be well-reared recently, and then you can arrange an operation."
"The staff was wonderful, and I'm incredibly grateful to the girls at the reception. They explained everything beautifully, helped, and told me everything I needed to know.
The hotel is in the city center, so I explored everything on foot. The sea, eateries, and all kinds of shops are also nearby. The price was fantastic; I booked it in advance. It had air conditioning, a refrigerator, a kettle, and, most importantly, stable Wi-Fi.
Book a room at this hotel, you won't regret it! I think it's one of the best hotels out there!"
"Hôtel typique qui permet de vivre en mode local assez loin des ressorts.
Personnel très agréable et Acceuil au top."

Amazing
TTravellingmaudeOne of the best hotel experiences I've had, and the first impression set the tone perfectly. Upon arrival, our bags were immediately taken by staff, and before we even reached the front desk, we were warmly greeted, guided to a seating area, and served fresh fruit, cold tea, and a refreshing wet towel — all while check-in was handled seamlessly. That kind of hospitality is rare.
We booked two rooms, both beautifully decorated in a unique cave-themed style. Each room came with a jacuzzi bathtub, excellent shower pressure, and an automatic bidet with a heated seat — thoughtful touches that made a real difference. The air-conditioning was wonderfully cold, a true relief in Vietnam's heat.
The toiletries were paraben-free, which I genuinely appreciated, and the hairdryer was a solid Dyson dupe, very functional and stylish. Room size was comfortable for two guests.
Breakfast was included, as was afternoon tea — both a lovely bonus. The location is incredibly convenient, within walking distance of Malaysia Street's halal eateries and Ben Thanh Market.
Exceptional value for money. Highly recommended, and I will absolutely be returning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
GGuest UserLocated in District 1, this hotel is right in the heart of the tourist area, making transportation super convenient. It's also just a stone's throw away from Japan Town, which is a great place to explore and enjoy some delicious food. A special shout-out to Ka and Mike at the front desk for their excellent service!
AAnonymous UserPros:
Historic building, pleasant courtyard with an indoor pool.
Ample toiletries provided in the bathroom, not just single items.
Attentive staff for cleaning and delivering amenities.
Cons:
The staff don't seem to understand the concept of guest service. Breakfast waiters practically knock you over, trying to get past first. The person delivering luggage to the room told us, 'I'll go first, you take the next elevator.' 😂
Breakfast needs a special mention:
Breakfast hours are until 9:30 AM, but in other hotels in Ho Chi Minh City where we stayed, breakfast was until at least 10:00 AM or 10:30 AM. However, the breakfast time isn't the only issue; waiters start clearing tables and milk pitchers at 9:00 AM, instead of serving guests. They focus on cleaning and clattering dishes, subtly hinting that breakfast is over. Furthermore, not once during our entire stay did anyone offer to bring/pour coffee. Cappuccinos and lattes are made by a separate barista; you can't make these drinks yourself from the coffee machine. There are no freshly squeezed juices. And what's unacceptable is the sour and overcooked vegetables – broccoli and cauliflower. It's surprising that the hotel management isn't monitoring the quality of their establishment; for comparison, look at the Pullman hotel.
In the evening, the cleaning lady in the fitness center was making a lot of noise while cleaning the changing room, making it difficult to concentrate even with headphones on.
Suggestions for the hotel: Train the staff on service and sort out the breakfast issues.
AAileenzscThe room was clean, tidy, spacious, and very comfortable. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and thoughtful. It was great to be able to open the windows for fresh air. The breakfast fruit was fresh and delicious. Plus, the hotel's location on Ho Chi Minh Square made getting around super convenient.
VVictor HankIs very 5 star hotel and service is very high class. The room is also very clean. However, the room is abit squeezy but overall is good experience. One night SGD 160 is quite reasonable. The concierge team is very experience and friendly in helping us find a 24 hour clinic. The view at floor 25 is really good. They have an infinity pool at the rooftop which can see the whole of HCMC cityview.
FFitria LingWe had such a wonderful stay here and truly enjoyed the entire experience from beginning to end. The apartment was incredibly spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family trip. I came with my second brother and nephew, and the 3-bedroom layout worked beautifully for us — my brother stayed in the master bedroom while my nephew and I each had our own cozy rooms with a shared bathroom. It gave everyone privacy while still feeling warm and homely together.
The living room was very spacious, with a lovely balcony and an absolutely amazing view overlooking the sea/river. Waking up to that view every day was one of the highlights of our stay. The large dining table was also great for us to gather and enjoy meals together.
The house was very well-equipped with complete kitchen utensils and amenities, including a washing machine, which made our stay even more convenient and comfortable.
What made the experience even more memorable was the warm hospitality. The welcome was incredibly thoughtful, and the host was extremely helpful throughout our stay, even recommending local food places for us to try. We genuinely felt cared for and welcomed like guests rather than just visitors.
Highly recommended for families or groups looking for a spacious, comfortable, and relaxing stay with beautiful views and wonderful hospitality. We would happily stay here again.
ZZmeyerLocated almost perfectly for Saigon's riverside - beautiful scenery, breezy, convenient for getting to the cityvattraction. Its a big apartment building, fresh and clean. Pool is not big and made mostly for children.
Flat wasnt so nice as it was on pictures. But its not bad, i like it. Main troubles were: no hot water in second bathroom, noisy aircons blocks just outside balcony. But: very good beds and bedlinens, very clean, all the utensils.
I have to say that guys from Rivergate central is just saints. They were able to solve a huge trouble created by ourselves. Thank you, u r great.
Yes, i will stay there again. Very good price for this unit and location - and unbeatable service.
*****赏樱花I went to Ho Chi Minh City with friends, but I didn't do my research well 😂. The hotel's location wasn't ideal; there was always traffic congestion, and it was quite far from the city center. If I were to go again, I think I would choose the Ben Thanh area. Otherwise, it was okay. It seems the hotel doesn't provide housekeeping for consecutive stays; we stayed two nights and they didn't give us new towels, so we had to ask the front desk for them when we got back at night.
BBerryman06The hotel would be great, if it didn’t have a few major issues. In the room one night we left a half eaten bag of biscuits on the bed side table and found it covered with small bugs in the morning, as well as a cockroach on the floor. As well, the sheets had what appeared to be blood stains from the previous visitors, which wasn’t great. Finally, a small thing was the room was quite dark, as the curtain couldn’t be opened.
The location of the hotel however was great.
