In my experience, the customer service fell short of expectations and could benefit from noticeable improvement. A welcoming demeanor and simple courtesy—such as a genuine smile—can significantly enhance a guest’s experience. While I did not have particularly high expectations given the name “The Red Carpet Inn,” I still anticipated a reasonable standard of hospitality and upkeep.
Unfortunately, the property did not fully meet those expectations. The overall odor within the facility was unpleasant and could certainly be addressed. Although the cleanliness was acceptable for an inn of this category, it lacked the freshness and attention to detail that would make guests feel comfortable.
Aesthetically, the rooms appear outdated and in need of renovation. The addition of a few brightly colored furniture pieces seems to be an attempt to give the impression of recent remodeling; however, these accent pieces do little to disguise the overall condition of the space. The updates feel superficial rather than substantive—more cosmetic than structural.
My wife and I only needed a place to rest for a few hours before catching a flight later that evening, and for that limited purpose it sufficed. However, I would not consider staying here for more than one night, and even that would be with hesitation.
Additionally, the “closet” was not a true closet at all. It consisted merely of an exposed wall-mounted rod with no enclosure or doors, which further contributed to the unfinished and poorly designed feel of the room.
Overall, while the property may serve as a very short-term stopover, there is significant room for improvement in customer service, atmosphere, and genuine modernization. Bright Spot would only be the Shuttle to the Airport that is included at checkout. This would be there saving grace."
"a decent hotel for overnight layover for cruise or airport. it's close to both and the hotel offers free shuttle to airport but you must book early.
price is decent and hotel is decent but it's busy so there's always a lineup at the counter. Staff are not bad but sometimes slow due to various client requests.
If you don't have a car it's a pain to get around as there's not much nearby other than a couple strip malls and limited eateries.
Overall, not bad for what you pay"
"The room I stayed in was clean and tidy, and nothing out of expectation happened during my 1-night stay. One thing I would like to compliment Best Western is that their shuttle service to the Fort-Lauderdale International Airport runs 24 hours while many other hotels in the area run their first daily shuttle at 5 am. The only thing I needed to do was to make an appointment for the pick-up time at the entrance."
"We had a one night layover in Fort Lauderdale and needed a cosy hotel to unwind.
This place really hit the spot. Very affordable and we got a huge room! The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. The staff was great and very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was good. Classic. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it looked good and clean.
Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and stores.
We were especially pleased with the airport shuttle to Fort Lauderdale international airport which runs once every hour. Just make sure to let them know you’ll need it at check inn.
Overall we we’re very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hotel in this area."
"The hotel I stayed in after watching the Copa America final was very clean, spacious and tidy. The hotel is very big and beautiful, and it is very new. However, you need to book the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to the airport one day in advance. You cannot book it on the same day. Overall, it is a very good hotel."
"Due to flight changes, we booked this hotel near the airport. The room facilities and breakfast are very good. The service staff's attitude is too bad. The hotel has a bus pick-up. When we called the hotel to inquire, they were impatient and hung up directly. We stopped a car and went to the hotel to check in. The one who answered the phone was very unfriendly! There are many people speaking Spanish here, and it's hard to communicate with those who are not good at English! I translated subtitles for them and they complained that the words were too small to understand."

Amazing
GGuest UserOur first stay at hotel 66 and this hotel complex was fantastic from arrival to leaving firstly on arrival the team at the door helped with luggage with kindness and respect a great start then George at the reception desk another assist to the business kind helpful respectful always with a smile 😃 thank you 🙏 room was excellent not the best view but it was a basic room and far better than expected and it was immaculate again housekeeping great 👍 and wanted to help , breakfast again excellent on the first day exceptional and the young chef that likes football making omelettes again exceptional ( wearing a black chefs outfit ) kind respectful and thinking about customers needs again a great 👍 asset to any team thank you . On our second visit breakfast was a little more upside down 🙃 as it was so busy but still you could see the team in most was trying again great . The communal areas again immaculate- I’ve stayed now at the Ritz , Conrad , Western , and Pier 66 is miles ahead . Thank you all for making our short stay so enjoyable and without doubt 10 out of 10 thank you Angelo Ianniello and Family stayed 26/12/2025 for two nights .
GGuest UserI enjoyed my stay at Tru by Hilton in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The location was great. Downtown, easy access to everywhere, without feeling like you’re in the middle of a busy city. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Over all, the vibe of the place is very much like college dorm or summer camp for grown adults. I’d definitely stay here again. The free breakfast every morning was also a very nice addition.
GGuest UserRocketstay is awful. Pain to use, slow, cumbersome, check in extraordinarily late so they can charge extra to check in early, extremely early check out. This place was advertised at $130/night, and at the end of the rocketstay fees it was $200/night. Not worth it.
GGuest UserThe location was great because it was right off the beach but it wasn’t as great the experience. First they have hidden charges they don’t tell you online when you are booking the hotel, you only find out about the charge right when you finish paying (like the hotel $40 fee) and when you are checking in they charge $48 for mandatory valet service if the $42 self parking is full.
Additionally, we thought we were going to say in the big building as shown in the picture but no they made up stay in a smaller building across the parking lot.
The rooms do not look like they do in the pictures, they are a lot smaller and not that nice.
Overall I didn’t enjoy the hotel at all but now I know for next time
GGuest UserFirst they gave me the wrong room and then they gave me one for the disabled because there was no more room with a king-size bed as I had rented it, in the end I never had the room I had reserved, but in general we had a good stay.
GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel 2/19-2/23 and was in 4 different rooms in 4 nights. The first room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking. We were switched right away. The second room windows had phallic symbols drawn all over them, there were no shelves or towel bars in the bathroom and a permanent shower door that only covered half the shower so water went all over the floor. We had disturbances in the hallway at approx 1:30a both nights and no one is at front desk from 11p - 7a to handle the situation, they expect you to call the police. The third room was small (we didn't care) with balcony and ocean view. No hair dryer, which we requested and never received. However, french doors that connected to the room next door. They had a lock but didn't shut all the way and had a huge gap.(pics attached) This is a huge issue for many reasons. Safety - as the occupants pulled on the doors at 10:30p and could have pulled hard and pulled them open. Disturbing - they were so loud and with the gap, we might as well have been in the same room because we could hear their entire conversation. They were loud from 10:30p - 11:30p and then again from 1:15a - 3a. This room is clearly an extension of the suite and no one should be allowed to stay in there that doesn't know the people staying in the suite, let alone charge them for it. Finally the fourth room - had ocean view and balcony but the shower handle came off when I turned it on, again no shelves or towel bars, the half shower door and we were woken up at 12:30a but what we think was power-washing going on in the kitchen outside because the generator was so loud.
The front desk receptionists tried to be as helpful as they could in switching our rooms. One of them did reimburse us our resort fees of $60 (which turned out they only did half). But it took time out of our vacation each day to talk with them and come in from the beach to pack, switch rooms and unpack our things. 2 of the 3 floor hallways we were in smelled like marihuana every time we got off the elevator. The Tiki Bar food and drinks are good although they are slow. The staff was vocal on 3 different occasions to us about them being short staffed.
I sent 3 emails to the general manager Mike Lang and left several messages with the front desk. He finally called to tell me he had passed on my email to someone named Sarah to reach out (his boss). He explained he was sorry for our issues and understood where we were coming from but that he couldn't do anything except offer a free night. Considering the trouble we went through, the fact that I don't know when my friend and I could come back and one night is not enough, I said we would prefer reimbursement. He did reimburse us the other half of the resort fees ($30). I asked him for Sarah's contact information and he wouldn't give it out and told me she would be in touch. I have sent 2 follow up emails to him that I haven't heard from her and have got nothing.
This is not how anyone expects to spend their vacation. Time consuming and frustrating to say the very least. It is even more aggravating that they are not responding to try to make it right. I've reported this hotel to the BBB and am awaiting a response.
DDutchiesDuring our trip through Florida, we had the pleasure of staying one night at the Ocean Reef Hotel, and it was truly a great experience. Upon arrival, we found the reception closed, but it wasn’t long before a very friendly lady came to assist us with check-in. She had just gone out to grab a bite to eat, which is completely understandable – everyone needs food! Once we got to our hotel room, we were pleased to find it clean, well-maintained, and above average in size. Although there were a few minor maintenance issues, what mattered most was that the beds were extremely comfortable and everything was spotless.
After checking in, we went out for a meal, but upon returning, we discovered that the parking lot was nearly full, making it difficult to find a spot. Without even needing to ask, a very helpful staff member on the night shift immediately resolved the issue by assigning us a great parking space near the entrance. This thoughtful service made a huge difference. Throughout the night, this gentleman also conducted a round of checks, which gave us a great sense of security. The hotel itself was quiet, and we had a restful night's sleep. The bathroom facilities, including the toilet and shower, were also impeccably clean.
In the morning, when we checked out, the same lady who helped us with check-in was there again, and once more, we were greeted with kindness and a friendly smile.
This hotel is definitely a place I would return to during a Florida road trip. I highly recommend it and want to thank the staff for their excellent care. It’s absolutely a place to revisit.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location across the street with a ocean view! It is an older hotel but the staff was very friendly and helpful with us checking in. I would stay there again.
