It's very close to my child's school, making it the perfect choice for parents dropping off their kids at the start of the school year. The rooms are clean and tidy, and they have family rooms that are great for a family of three."

Hygiene Standards: Rooms and common areas appeared clean and tidy, and the bedding had no unpleasant odors. Service Satisfactory: Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were generally polite."

"Not the WSH that I have stayed in so many times before.  The doorman stood and watched me struggle with the doors when I arrived; and never offered to help me up the stairs with my luggage.  Upon checking in I inquired about the restaurant and lounge hours.  There was nothing in the WSH web page to indicate they were closed for remodeling.  When I made that comment one of the desk clerks said, “If you knew you might not have come”.  Correct; but I would have come back in the future.  Now I will never return, especially since the room I was given had a window with a view of a fallen steel I-beam and a brick wall.  Not to mention it was at the end of a hallway where the door to the stairwell slammed loudly enough to shake the room all day long while staff were constantly using it.  A very ugly way to treat a loyal customer.  When I was informed that the hotel is under new management my only thought was “obviously”.  The transition has not been for the better.  At almost $450.00 per night you could do much, much better."

"Clean and tidy, and good service. Good location, convenient transportation, whole foods supermarket, convenient life shopping. To the south is Chinatown and Lower Manhattan, and to the north is the core area of Midtown Manhattan. There is a subway within 30 meters."

"It’s a hot summer and the room is hot. It’s not warm, it’s hot. The AC doesn’t work, and apparently hasn’t been working fundamentally for almost a year. I asked for a fan for 4 days and they finally gave me a small fan that doesn’t work! It’s a tiny fan dub as a heater, and there’s no wind coming out. My room was over 84F. The engineers were not helpful, however they really tried and they were so much nicer than the receptionist. The rooms are spacious, and I have to say the staffs are trying and most are nice. The front desk however was quite rude. But with the quality of the breakfast, which doesn’t even have toasts or cornflakes, I’m not sure how this hotel has 4 stars. With the money paid, it’s really not worth it. With the same money you can stay at somewhere 3 stars and better. I’ve asked for a refund and it’s not even an option. Note that there’s a €37 per night amenity fees after your stay, and with the only amenity I was satisfied was the ice machine, to cool the room off, it’s not worth it."

"The location is quite good, and the front desk staff are nice. However, there seems to be a shortage of staff. If they need to go to a different floor to handle other matters, you might have to wait a bit longer."

"Booked this hotel for a concert, and the location was absolutely perfect. I didn't even need to take the subway; Madison Square Garden was within walking distance. The area around the hotel felt very safe, and it was easy to find."

"Great location, close to Times Square and the convention center. The room was nice and clean. For this area and price, it's definitely worth it. I had booked a twin room, but the front desk was very kind and upgraded me to a king bed since I was traveling alone."

"I had booked a corner king and upon arrival there was a stain on the carpet and asked to be moved to a clean room, which they did immediately and got a better view. The experience manager Josh was very welcoming and informed me about the different types of corner Kings so that I could choose the one I preferred. When I returned for a second stay a few days later he offered me some thoughtful amenities and the front of house staff remembered me by name which was a nice touch. Overall, great location , attentive service, rooms can do with a bit of refreshing but would definitely stay either here or at the Highline Standard again."
