Great
FFussy BeeThe greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. Let's talk about the good things about this hotel first. The sanitation of the room and corridor is good, the taste of the breakfast is also OK, and the location of the hotel is good. The USS Midway aircraft carrier is not far from the window. But for some reason, there is always a harsh and annoying sound outside the window. At first, we thought it was the sound of some electrical appliances. After a while, we realized that it might be due to the design of the building itself. The noise caused by the wind outside the high-rise window. This continuous noise seriously affected our rest. Another thing we are not satisfied with is the design and layout of the room. We live in a corner king-size bed room. The room area is very small. The sofa and TV are placed not far from the entrance of the room. The air conditioner is facing the sofa, and the cold wind blows directly at people. The design is very unreasonable. The bathroom is large, but the strange thing is that the washbasin is designed to be very narrow and the shower area is not large enough. It is almost difficult for tall guests to move and turn around in it. In addition, the frosted large glass window in the bathroom is too transparent, and a movable curtain should be installed to block the light. The last thing that made us unhappy with this hotel was that they charged $12 per package for storage. This is unheard of and simply incomprehensible.

AAnonymous UserThis is an old hotel with rich cultural background, all the staff are very friendly, the room service is timely and in place, the bedding and mattress are very comfortable, the breakfast is not to mention, the weekend menu will be replaced with the brunch menu. All the above advantages allow me to tolerate the only disadvantage of zero view from the window. Parking is valet, there is a cvs at the door, and there is a taco that ranks first in the United States within five minutes' walk, which is pretty good, but there is homeless on the roadside

PPeter ClemensGreat views and comfort, but watch out for extra charges! I recently stayed at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. While the hotel itself is very nice, I encountered an issue that significantly impacted my experience. Despite having booked and fully prepaid my stay through Trip.com, the hotel attempted to charge me an additional $45 per day plus tax for the so-called ”Destination Fee” at check-in. After contacting the hotel, they refunded the fee after multiple letters and two weeks. This seems to reflect a policy of charging the Destination Fee by default, regardless of whether it has already been prepaid through third-party booking platforms. I worry that many guests either don't notice the charge or aren't aware that it may already be included in their booking. That being said, breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the facilities are generally high-quality. If the billing issue hadn't occurred, my stay would have been much more enjoyable. Overall, it's a lovely hotel in a great location—but guests should carefully check their bill and be prepared to follow up if something doesn't add up!

The hotel room is very old. The location and environment are very good. However, after the departure, the authorization deposit was deducted for more than 28 US dollars. No one mentioned it, including Ctrip and the hotel front desk. I don't know why the previous comments didn't mention Everyone should pay attention to when considering hotels.

AAndyThe hotel is well-equipped and conveniently located 10 minutes from the airport. We were training at the hotel, which has well-equipped facilities and good food. The nearby Loma Cafe and Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The scenery is picturesque and the rooms are clean and tidy.

KKhadija.Upon check-in, I was asked to pay for the room, which I did. However, I noticed the amount charged was higher than the total from my original booking. I asked the receptionist (I believe his name was Raul, though I’m not entirely sure) why that was. I explained the amount I had been quoted during booking. He then mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that a $150 deposit is taken at check-in. I told him this should have been communicated before processing the payment, as it’s standard practice to inform guests of such charges upfront. While I wasn’t pleased, I went ahead and paid. I also mentioned that I had submitted a request in advance for a room away from the elevator with a good view. He told me the hotel was fully booked, which confused me, since I had booked well in advance and included my request at the time. He assigned me Room 503, which was directly across from the elevator, not away from it. I didn’t want to complain as I had just traveled over 12 hours from London to San Diego and was extremely tired. I planned to grab some dinner and get straight to bed. However, the room was quite noisy—there was a lot of hallway activity, and the family next door had their TV volume quite high. I decided not to go downstairs and complain, hoping I could just fall asleep. Unfortunately, I was woken up around 3 a.m. by a crying child, and again at 5 a.m. At that point, I was extremely frustrated and went to speak to the receptionist on duty, Matthew. I explained everything to him, and he was very understanding. He said there was availability and offered to move me immediately…this was surprising, considering the earlier claim that the hotel was full. He moved me to Room 204. While it wasn’t far from the elevator either, he assured me it would be quieter since there were no large families on that floor. He was right—the room was much more peaceful, and I appreciated his help. At checkout, I saw the same receptionist who had checked me in and decided not to approach him. Instead, I spoke to Antonio at the other desk. I asked about the deposit, and he informed me it would take 2–3 business days to be released. Naturally, I wasn’t thrilled to hear this, especially after the earlier issues, so I shared my entire experience with him. He apologized sincerely and mentioned the initial receptionist may need additional training, which they would look into. Overall, the stay was decent for a short 3-night visit, but the start could have been handled much better.
