Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill

Mixed feelings. The hotel is well located, with Washington Union Station nearby. The rooms are average; they’re clean, but a bit outdated and musty. The reception staff looked tired and unbothered. The hotel seems to operate only under daily timings; I was not able to get cleaning later on the day. The safe was not working and I had to wait until the next day for someone to come check it, same case for broken light in the bathroom. The fitness is well equipped. The hotel was not able to accommodate my request to cancel the last night, even though I was moving to another Hilton. Not necessarily the kind of service you’d expect from them. Amenities were available upon request, there’s a mini fridge in the room. There was no kettle available. Overall, for the price, you can get better in Washington DC.

My wife, our 5-year-old son, and I recently spent 3 lovely nights at Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Embassy Row during our family trip to the nation’s capital, and it turned out to be the ideal choice for our little family of three. Located in the charming Embassy Row neighborhood, the hotel’s location is truly unbeatable—just a 10-minute walk to Farragut North Metro Station, allowing us to easily reach iconic spots like the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and the White House, which were perfect for our curious 5-year-old. We booked a deluxe room with two queen beds, which was spacious and comfortable for the three of us. The room was impeccably clean, with bright, modern decor and soft lighting that made it feel warm and welcoming after long days of sightseeing. The plush beds ensured we all slept well, and the blackout curtains were a lifesaver for our son, who tends to wake up early with sunlight. There were plenty of USB charging ports and free Wi-Fi, which kept our son entertained with his tablet during downtime, and the room had enough space for him to play a little without feeling cramped. What impressed us most was how family-friendly the hotel was, especially for a young child. The staff was incredibly warm and patient; they greeted our son by name after the first day and even gave him a small toy as a welcome gift, which made him feel so special. There were also convenient coffee stations in the lobby, perfect for a quick pick-me-up before we headed out to explore the city with our little one. The complimentary Canopy bikes were a fun activity for our family—our son loved riding in the child seat while my wife and I cycled around the quiet, tree-lined streets of Embassy Row. The concierge was also very helpful, recommending family-friendly restaurants nearby and helping us plan our itinerary to avoid crowds at the museums, which made our trip much smoother. Overall, our stay was wonderful. The hotel’s prime location, comfortable accommodations, and thoughtful, family-focused service made our DC trip unforgettable. We highly recommend Canopy by Hilton Embassy Row to any family traveling with a young child—we couldn’t have asked for a better home base. We will definitely return on our next family trip to Washington DC.

The decoration looks like an old-fashioned hotel, so the facilities are a little bit worse. But the room is big enough, the health is good, there is a coffee machine, and the customer service staff are also very polite. It takes about ten minutes to get to the station.

The hotel is in a great location and the room is very cozy. It is right outside the subway station, and you can walk to the Washington Monument and the White House in two steps. There is a McDonald's across the street, so you don't have to worry about food. But there are some big problems, that is, it is very close to the building next door, so there is no light, the room is very damp, and the street is not soundproof and noisy. B1's ice machine can produce drinking water, which is good

The service is ok. Got the corner room, but it's not soundproof at all. Someone was either talking on the street or in the room next to me at 4 AM; I couldn't fall asleep, and I was so tired for my conference in the morning. The location is good, walking distance to union station.

First off, I need to say that I stayed for quite a while, and I really regret it. I should have booked for just one day and then extended my stay as needed. This hotel has a strict no early checkout policy; if you leave early, they still charge you for the full booked duration. Why do I regret it? Here are a few points I wasn't happy with: (1) The room was too small. I booked a 'Super King Room,' which implies it's suitable for two people, but upon checking in, I realized it simply had a super king-sized bed, not a large room. On the contrary, the room was tiny; it would be okay for one person at best. The width of the room was equivalent to the length of a single mattress, and its length was about 3.2 to 3.3 times the width of a mattress (around 1.8m each, I'd guess). (2) The hotel only offers this one room type, so there's no option to upgrade. (3) The air quality in the room was poor. Because the room was small and had no windows, it relied entirely on the air conditioning for ventilation. After leaving in the morning and returning at night, there was still that old-fashioned train smell. This is why we left early in the morning and came back late at night – we simply didn't want to spend time in the room. Just to clarify, pictures 2 and 3 show the actual situation with the bathroom door open. So, if you're someone who's out all day and only comes back to sleep, if you're traveling solo, and if it's for a short stay of just a day or two, then this hotel might be acceptable.

The TV had no signal, and after trying various methods, I gave up. The room door needed to be closed gently to avoid making a loud noise. The toilet flushing was mediocre, and the amenities seemed cheaply made. Most importantly, the room was filled with a pungent, overpowering smell of newly renovated furniture; it was very irritating and made my throat very sore. I suggest the hotel remove the smell (I'm not sure if it's formaldehyde). This is the first time I've experienced such a throat irritation in a new hotel.

I was here for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's incredibly close to the White House, just 500 meters away, and you can even see the Monument directly from the window – the location is excellent. The hotel's food and dining options are also very good and highly recommended. The service was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay here in this safe neighborhood which was a 7 min walk to the Metro. Trader Joe’s across the street was convenient and we made breakfast each day. We were too busy for the fitness center. The laundry is in a small room in the basement with two washers and two dryers for $3.50/load and very nice that they provided the soap and softener. We had a problem with the lock on the door and they moved us to another room as it couldn’t be fixed in one day. I highly recommend!
