"The hostel is very clean and tidy. The guy who was responsible for the cleaning is always there. Some garbage was blown into the room from outside the window and the worker help us clean it. He also helped me using the equipment in the kitchen. Everyone there are very helpful. It is not near the central. But I can accept the walking distance from the tram station to the hostel. There is also a supermarket next to the hostel. It is convenient to buy food and drink if you need."
"Very comfortable, and conveniently located close to the train station and the airport shuttle. There's a supermarket right across the street, and it's next to the Lipstick Building and the pier. The room was very modern; after staying in so many hotels in Europe, this is the first time I've experienced such a modern and smart-style hotel! The front desk staff were friendly, but the self-check-in was a bit tricky to operate. It would be even better if there was free drinking water available in the lobby."
"Because we travel with rented car so the location is not really a problem. They do provide private parking with additional charge which the staff at Front Office provided the information and explained very well. The room itself were fabulous. Everything is still new and all the tools are provided including kitchenette, washing machines, hair dryer, plates, cups, cutleries, and all the coffee & tea. The price was also very decent."
"The air conditioning was too loud and wouldn't completely turn off for a break. I felt a bit claustrophobic in this room, and the window was too small. The furniture was too dark. The sink wasn't ergonomic; everything always got wet because the rim was so wide that you had to lean over, and then water would splash out. My wife didn't perceive everything the same way I did. The breakfast area was very nice, open, and pleasant. Overall, it's a mixed bag, unfortunately, I can't stay in this cramped room again, not willingly."
"One of the coziest hostels I’ve stayed at. I emailed in advance to say I was showing up after 8pm, which they said was fine, and someone was there to greet me - in English, which was helpful, haha. Solo bathrooms are interspersed between the rooms, but I didn’t have too much trouble with them being full. One was covered in water, but that’s probably a guest’s fault. Could’ve used a little shelf next to the beds or something, but otherwise, no complaints."
"Staying at Clarion Hotel The Pier in Sweden turned out to be one of those experiences where you feel at ease almost immediately. There’s a certain warmth to the place that makes it stand out from the moment you walk through the doors.
Friendly Staff Who Truly Welcome You
What I noticed right away was how genuinely friendly the staff were. Every time we entered or walked past the front desk, we were greeted with a smile or a kind word. It’s such a simple gesture, but it created this feeling of being looked after, as if we were more than just passing guests.
A Location That Balances Quiet and Convenience
The hotel’s setting struck the perfect balance—peaceful and quiet, yet still so easy to get into the city center. It felt like we had the best of both worlds: calm evenings by the water, and the city’s energy just a short ride away.
Beautiful Skyline and Water Views
From the hotel, the view stretched across the skyline and the water, and it was just lovely. Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget.
A Studio Room That Feels Like Home
Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped.
A Breakfast with Heart
Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal."
"Fint rum med mycket sköna sängar. Mycket bra frukost och bra service speciellt av Anton i receptionen. Vi fick extra uppvaktning pga av vår 40 åriga bröllopsdagsfirande.
Det vi dock reagerade på var deras prideflaggor vid receptionen som inte var välkomnande. Handlar inte om alla människors värde utan om att alla inte delar deras extrema sexualpolitiska agenda. Det kunde vara nationsflaggor istället eller hotellets flagga."
"The first floor is being renovated. There is a lot of dust in the guest room. Everything in the toilet is covered with a layer of dust. It feels like it has not been taken care of for a long time. I don’t know what’s going on! But the breakfast is good, the free parking is also very good, and the service staff is very friendly!"
"Location is 10/10, right next to the central bus station and tram with multiple routes.
Room is large, bed is a little bit small even for a single bed. Lighting is too scattered in the room. There is a coffee table attached to the sofa which is too steep you put anything on it, it slides away.
Bathroom floor got wet after every shower cause the shower curb is too thin and short with no door. The ventilation was not good enough the bathroom kept foggy for a pretty while.
The ac worked very well even sometimes was a little too cool. I couldn’t find anywhere to adjust the speed and temperature.
Breakfast was very nice and replenished almost every single minute. Except one thing you have to slide the bread loaf yourself so everyone touched the bread which is not hygienic at all.
Also if the breakfast time could be longer that would be perfect.
The most indecent part would be the soundproofing of the rooms. The wall is too thin and room door is too heavy. When someone opened and closed the door it was way too noisy it felt like an earthquake (not exaggerating at all). On the third night of my stay, the guest in my next room was walking back and forth during the midnight (about 3am) probably to bathroom. He/She jumped onto the bed (We shared the same wall), it totally freaked me out I thought it was earthquake. My bed was shaking too bad. It happened like 3 times durning that night.
The next day someone knocked my door at early 8am without saying anything.
I reported to the front desk the other day and asked for a gentle reminder to my neighbor not to jump.
Staff was really helpful and friendly.
Honestly I was expected even more for this brand which is very popular worldwide. If the soundproofing issue could be resolved. I would definitely give it a 9-10 out of 10 with no doubt."
"Fantastic stay and hotel is in a good location which very close to the pier, good facilities such as gym, suana and warm pool outside with amazing view. Happy to stay here and willing come back for sure."

Amazing
GGuest UserWell everything besides our check out experience was great. Really great!
Then when checking out, we had 3 interactions with the reception about checking out prior to checking out. and only the one at 12:30 (when checking out with luggage and all), we were told to pay a 200SEK late-fee, which I was then told could’ve been even higher and that I should be thankful they didn’t charge me double…
Not nice - and we had 3 interactions prior to this for this exact reason. I wanted to work out first and then shower in the room before leaving. If we were told the first time about the late check out fee; we would’ve checked out then and there.
I complained about this practice, to deaf ears. Not coming back despite it being very nice and perfect for a Liseberg weekend with the family
GGuest UserThe staff working on the weekend were super nice and helpful, and I’ve stayed here many, many times, always so nice & such a lovely boutique place to stay with many awesome things to like. On the day I checked out oh my god, where did this girl suddenly come from? Little wanna be Swedish police officer banging on my door trying to get in. Ok i fell asleep after breakfast? So what. Even after i checked out & and was just having a coffee in the lobby, she came again in my face demanding to know if i had checked out? She was just rude, unprofessional, behavior was unbelievable. Really ruined my experience at the nice hotel Pigalle. Actually, I don’t accept people thinking they are better than everyone else & they think that they can just talk to people like they are a piece of crap. Therefore, sadly, I don’t think I will ever stay here ever again.. Sorry but..
GGuest UserGood location, near central train and bus station, but quiet, no noise coma from outside, near by beautiful english garden, not far from main tourist attractions!
Clean room, good variety of breakfast ! Staff responsible and respectful ! It was nice stay
GGuest UserThe stay was absolutely wonderful! The place was very clean, well-organized, and comfortable in every detail. The service was excellent and the staff were very professional and friendly. I truly enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant experience. I would definitely visit again!
CCa11umNo aircon, tv kept losing signal during the stay, have to check in via self service kiosk and cut your own key staff dont smile or interact with customers unless they get approached.
Extractor fan in bathroom so noisy keep awake all night. No sound proofing in rooms hear every noise from rooms next door and below
MMathew69Really friendly staff who made the check in process smooth. They were also helpful in recommending places to eat and things to do in Gothenburg. Breakfast selection was good as well.
GGuest UserWe arrived at 7:30 pm and were told we got a room “upgrade”. The room was small so we really wondered what the “original” room looked like. The bed had stains on the cover that was laid under the mattress
which didn’t look good. We went down to the lobby and found nobody present. We moved on to the restaurant, it was 8 pm. Half full and we were met with the wonderful advise that they were closed for service. This was Friday May 16th and the menu
board was still at the entrance door to the restaurant.
We went back to the reception and queried why the restaurant was not serving dinner at 8 pm on a Friday.
The receptionist looked dumbfounded and told us it usually serves dinner at least until 9 pm but she took no action to assist us except to say we could walk fir 15 minutes to the Aveny, a street with lots of restaurants but could not suggest any close by. We ended up going to, as it happened, a fantastic restaurant right around the corner called Le Pigalle on the top floor of, we guess, a competing hotel. Fabulous meal in a restaurant that knew how to treat their guests.
In short we have regretfully no positive things to say about the ProfilHotels Opera in Gothenburg.
Gothenburg was fantastic but when we return we will definitely not book at the Opera which is overpriced for the standard and service they offer. Total waste of money at this venue. Regretfully we did not bother to take any pictures of the place as it is nothing we wish to remember about it.
BbilakovacThe hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the city, which was definitely a highlight of my stay. However, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. Firstly, my room did not have a view of the street as I had hoped, but instead faced an inner atrium, which made it feel somewhat enclosed and less appealing. Additionally, I had booked a double room but was given a twin room instead, which was disappointing. The reception staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming, which affected the overall first impression. On a more positive note, the food in the restaurant was of satisfactory quality, and the selection was quite diverse. Overall, this is a solid hotel in a convenient location for city exploration, but the experience was far from memorable.
GGuest UserStayed for one night only but wouldn't have minded staying longer. Room is well-lit, small but comfy and definitely fine for one person. Breakfast was pretty good and had a good variety of options, just a bit crowded (understandably so because I think all bookings include breakfast by default). Luggage storage is free but not super secure; the front desk locks the storage room but then you place and take your own bags from inside, so there's nothing stopping someone else from taking your bag. Location - need to take a bus to the train station; also not much in the immediate vicinity.
