"Stayed here for 11 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my stay. The location was very convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The room was cozy and provided everything I needed for a longer stay. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever assistance was needed. After staying here for nearly two weeks, it really started to feel like a home away from home. I checked out today and was actually a little sad to leave. Thank you for making my stay in Christchurch so enjoyable. "Upgraded to a top-floor room as a platinum member. The room wasn't huge, but the view was great. Check-in at the front desk was very friendly; there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, but communication was smooth. Crowne Plaza Christchurch boasts an excellent downtown location, within walking distance of Victoria Square, the Avon River, and the Cathedral. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with some offering city and river views. Breakfast is generous, and the service is professional and attentive. The hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center and other facilities. Overall, it was a comfortable and efficient experience, perfect for both business and leisure travelers, making it a top choice for accommodation in Christchurch."

"About a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal, the location is great, right in the city center, next to the Christchurch Cathedral which is still under construction. The advantage of being downtown is that it's convenient to go everywhere. The room isn't huge, but the cleanliness is pretty good. Coming back at night, you need to swipe your card to enter the hotel, which makes you feel very secure!"

"The location is excellent, within easy walking distance to the Avon River, the Arts Centre, the museum, and the Cardboard Cathedral. We booked a two-bedroom apartment, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy. What I liked most was the fully equipped kitchen; we bought groceries from the supermarket and cooked our own meals, which was both affordable and delicious. I'd definitely book this place again on my next trip to Christchurch."

"The location is incredibly convenient. The tram starting point is right next door, and it's just a two-minute walk to the Cathedral Square, which is currently undergoing restoration. The city center and the Cardboard Cathedral are also within walking distance. The room is very well-equipped. It has a capsule coffee machine, and all the toiletries are labeled as New Zealand-made. Plus, the bathroom even has a heated towel rail, and the TV comes with paid sports channels – this is a step above most international chain hotels. The front desk staff are all very friendly, and there's even a Chinese-speaking employee. They were all enthusiastic and helpful in answering any questions I had."

"I stayed here alone. At first, I considered a dormitory, but I think a private room is better if you're a woman traveling solo. This place offers great value for money. It's definitely small, but having a fridge, hairdryer, and a private shower and toilet in the room was incredibly convenient. The only downside was a small gap between the door and the hallway, which let in quite a bit of noise. There was no microwave. The showerhead was fixed, and the water pressure wasn't super strong, but the hot water flowed consistently. The provided shampoo made my hair quite squeaky, so if that's a concern, you should bring your own. The hotel staff were also very pleasant. There was a gym available, so I could get a workout in. It's a hotel I'd definitely want to stay at again!"

"This Novotel is located within walking distance to the tram station and the famous New Regent Street. The beds are also comfortable. Our only problem with the room is that with its large bathroom there is not even a single hook on the wall for hanging used towel. There is also no heated drying rack, which should be a rather common in-room facility found in many other hotels in NZ. The only sink / washing basin is right outside the bathroom, and it is tiny compared to the large bathroom. In short, the bathroom has a terrible wasted space issue."

"Great location, ambiance, and service. I accidentally booked the wrong month, but the front desk quickly helped me change the dates – very efficient service! You need to book parking early, but there's usually street parking available if you don't. Breakfast is just average."

"We stayed in room 501, and there was a constant dripping sound from the rooftop all night long, which completely ruined our stay. The room itself was well-equipped, and the location was excellent, very close to the Cardboard Cathedral. The free parking provided by the hotel was also very convenient. Aside from the noise issue, it was a good stay overall."

"If you're staying in Christchurch, this place is so good you could even stay long-term. I even made a Mexican friend here, haha. The room was also very spacious. It's less like a guesthouse and more like an electronic co-working space where you can cook and stay. You can do self check-in and check-out, but if you lose your phone, you'd be in a tough spot. Perhaps because global travel is on the rise, newly established guesthouses are excellent. They've completely shed the old image of being just a place to sleep. Honestly, even if it's not just about the price, staying in a guesthouse is so convenient and often has many good aspects. Unlike some Japanese guesthouses with their enclosed, cramped spaces focused solely on privacy, where in the end, privacy isn't even truly guaranteed – that kind of structure is not great."
