There was an offer for this hotel in Luang Prabang. I was impressed with the size of the deluxe room which has a separate living area. There's an air filtering system in the living room which is powerful; ideal if you are in Luang Prabang during the hot months of March, April. This hotel caters mostly to tour groups from China, therefore the labels in the room are in Chinese. For the shower area, turning the tap to the right is for hot water; left, for cold water. You need to run the shower head first to start the hot water flowing. I also like the fly screens in the windows which allow me to let fresh air in. Just make sure that no one is smoking nearby. The mattress and pillows are top quality. The TV is super big and there are both free programmes and paid channels. However, these are all in Mandarin. I paid an extra $1 per night to include the breakfast. There is a wide selection of Chinese cuisine. There's no butter, jam or honey to accompany the toasted bread. It can get very busy during breakfast and it's advisable to come down early at 7 am, when they start the service. The front staff is fantastic. There's free pick-up and drop-off service at airports and train station. The manager is super-communicative. He answered all my enquiries. Although the location is out from the central area, it only takes 30 mins to walk to the city centre. At night, I would use Loca (like Grab) to return back to the hotel. It costs between 65k to 100k KIP.

Amazing location and there is actually quite a lot to do here. Just down the road is a nature park with cooking classes, zip lines, etc. And you have a choice of hikes starting at the property as well as the sauna (like a herbal steam room), pool, horse riding for kids, etc. Need to take the shuttle or a taxi up and it's a good distance out of town but the natural location is just spectacular (and a bit cooler than the city).
The bungalows are in a garden setting with mountains just behind, the occasional water buffalo on the road, a couple cute dogs. Food is amazing with a vegan menu if you swing that way, local and western fare as well. Awesome attentive staff and a helpful industries owner. Highly recommended retreat.

The deal is good. The only downside I found is the room smell. You can switch the air conditioner to ”Dry” mode and the smell will be non-existent after a day or two. Highly recommended.

A fabulous stay with a bit of luxury thrown in. We arrived at the hotel and were offered an upgrade to our room for free. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. The facilities are great with a rooftop large pool and a wonderful view of Liamd Prabang valley.
The hotel is about 1.5kms to the centre, however they offer a free shuttle service on the hour from early morning to late evening.
Great breakfast and lots to choose from
We will definitely come back
Thank you all for a lovely stay
Blessings

The hotel offers convenient pick-up and drop-off service. As soon as we arrived at the station, we spotted the driver holding a sign, so we didn't have to worry about how to get to the hotel. After checking in, the hotel arranged a dedicated car to take us to the night market. The Mekong River, Wat Xieng Thong, the Royal Palace, and Mount Phousi are all within walking distance. After exploring these sites, we simply contacted the front desk in advance, and a hotel car would pick us up from the designated drop-off point. We also asked the front desk to help arrange a car for our trip to Kuang Si Falls. Throughout our two-day stay in Laos, transportation was truly hassle-free. All the safety concerns we had before our trip vanished, knowing our transport was well-taken care of. What's more, the front desk provides Chinese-speaking staff, so communication was never an issue.

This hotel is great! It's about a 10-minute walk from the 'Foreigners Street' in the city center. The room is spacious and incredibly clean. It's a French-style building, and the decor and furniture have a charming, rustic French vibe, which is really cozy. The owner speaks Chinese and, after we connected on WeChat, helped me exchange money, buy a SIM card, and even book tours. The service was absolutely excellent, and the staff were all very attentive, responding immediately to any request. Great value for money!

Genuinely couldn’t praise the service here enough, the staff here were fantastic and made me feel so at home in Luang Prabang.
The rooms are comfortable, and clean, and the views from the balcony are gorgeous.
Breakfast was 10/10. I had omelettes, Lao noodles, fresh fruit, and coffee, all of which tasted fantastic.
For me the main selling point when booking was the gym, and I was not let down, this gym is huuuge, bigger than any other hotel gym I’ve seen!
Great selection of free weights and machines. You’ll defo be able to get in a proper workout here.
Location is good, it’s about 5 minutes from the city, easily accessible by bike (hotel can arrange for bike renting!) or car/taxi.
Would fully recommend Full Man to anyone staying in Luang Prabang.
The hotel environment is comfortable, and the rooms are spacious. Communication support is available in Mandarin/English/Laotian, making it easy to communicate. There is a well-behaved puppy in the courtyard ( Laifu ) welcoming you to witness its growth. Some room types offer free electric scooters for convenient travel, and we can provide services for ticket bookings/rental cars/ride-hailing/custom travel plans, etc. In your free time, you can come to the lobby to enjoy tea. The hotel can provide customized travel guides, and we strive to make every guest feel at home. The owner will personally answer any questions you may have. We welcome your arrival.

I booked this place because of all the great reviews, and they're well-deserved! The service is excellent, and the room was very tidy. The owner offers free electric scooters, which makes getting around super convenient. The owner is really friendly, there's a washing machine available, and they even offer car rentals and tour guide services. Plus, the owner's daughter is gorgeous! I'd definitely stay here again next time.

Vientiane, Vangvieng, Luang Prabang, we stayed in Vientiane for 8 days. I am most satisfied with this hotel. The decoration and hardware of the new hotel are very good. It is opened by a Chinese and it is very convenient for consultation. The boss, Ah Hui, was very nice. He picked us up and dropped us off, and even sent us a car to take us back to the high-speed rail station. If you have anything you don’t know, just ask him. I will only comment if I am extremely dissatisfied or extremely satisfied. There is such a friendly Chinese hotel in Laos. It's far away from the city, not noisy, and the breakfast is also in Chinese taste. The photo was taken at the hotel, and the perspective is unparalleled. I will stay here again next time I come to Luang Prabang, and will also recommend it to relatives and friends.
When staying at Ji Yan Hotel, you'll be perfectly positioned to explore all that Luang Prabang has to offer.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at this hotel (chosen because it is top-rated), but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience for me as a business traveller. Apart from the central location, the stay did not meet my expectations.
I booked a double-bed room and requested the second floor with a temple view. The staff informed me that the second floor was fully booked, and even the double-bed rooms were unavailable, so they gave me a twin room (no. 3) and pushed the beds together. The only good part was that the room still had a partial temple view from the window. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but there were no basic amenities such as slippers, toothbrush, razor, or comb unless requested at reception.
I returned to the hotel close to midnight after a long day, only to find the reception closed, no staff available, and no information on how to contact anyone. There was also no in-room phone. I had to walk barefoot on the cold hard floor, could not brush my teeth, and could not request an iron to prepare for my meeting the next morning.
In the morning, staff were still not present at 6:00 AM when I needed toiletries. When they finally arrived, I overheard the housekeeper saying they had run out of stock and that I should “go buy it outside,” which made me feel quite unwelcome as a guest paying a high room rate. The receptionist then repeated the same message without offering any guidance on where to buy items.
Additionally, while the hotel claims to reduce single-use amenities for environmental reasons, they still provide drinking water in plastic bottles instead of glass — something that should be improved.
I would like to compliment the staff member on duty on the morning of the 12th Nov 2025 at around 6:00 AM. I wanted to prepare food for almsgiving, and he kindly gave me helpful advice. He even went to ask a nearby vendor to bring the items I needed so that I could receive the service conveniently. I truly appreciate his assistance and excellent service.
Overall, the lack of essential amenities, poor service availability, and unprofessional attitude made my stay uncomfortable. This will be my first and last stay at this hotel.
CChou LeSatri House – A Living Museum You Can Sleep In
Staying here feels like stepping into a beautiful dream from another era. Every corner is a work of art. The furniture, the layout, the little details—they all whisper stories of old Indochine charm. It doesn’t feel like a hotel. It feels like you’re actually living in a graceful, historic home.
The architecture is stunning, and the garden and pool are simply gorgeous. Peaceful, timeless, and so beautifully kept.
The staff are warm and genuinely kind. We used the bikes from the resort to explore town, and it added so much joy to the experience.
Breakfast is à la carte, and each dish was delicious—thoughtfully prepared, never rushed. And somehow, every time we stepped out, we came back to a perfectly cleaned room. It’s the kind of care you don’t often see.
Satri House isn’t just a stay—it’s a feeling. One I won’t forget.
SShenhuiThis hotel is nestled in a valley, with several acres of rice paddies at its heart, creating a very natural and ecological environment. You'll often see cows, chickens, and cats roaming around. The breakfast selection is quite extensive, and the Chinese food is incredibly authentic. There are two Chinese staff members at the front desk, so communication was seamless for me. Although it's a bit far from the city center, there's a shuttle bus every hour, which makes getting around very convenient. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserSofitel is unique in Luang Prabang. Just as Tao Yuanming described in Peach Blossom Spring: At first it was very narrow, but only then could people pass through. After walking a few dozen steps, it suddenly became open. After checking in, walking through the corridor, you will immediately feel like you are in a paradise. The 26 rooms are arranged in a square circle, with a tree-lined courtyard in the middle, a 25-meter lotus pond on one side, and a swimming pool of the same size on the other side. All rooms are suites with courtyards and outdoor baths. The rooms are simply furnished, clean and beautiful, and the service is very thoughtful. The only drawback is that there is only one restaurant. However, 3 Naga is a sister hotel, and the hotel provides free shuttle bus to the hotel, which also increases the restaurant selection. I love the hotel because I love the city.
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at the 3 star Mekong Charm Hotel, so we decided to stay two night longer than planned. The location is wonderful. The breakfast Terrace is directly above the Mekong river.
The hotel manager lives for her work and is very helpful and friendly. We had nothing to care for. She organized a motorcycle and our train trip to Vientiane. If we come back to Luang Prabang this hotel will be our first choice.
MM432069****The hotel's exterior has a strong local flavor; every photo taken there is beautiful. The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff who are very friendly. While the room furnishings are a bit dated, the cleanliness is quite good. Because some rooms are under renovation, there's some dust during the day, but it doesn't affect occupancy.
The only downside was that our room was on the second floor facing the street, and the noise from passing motorcycles at night was quite loud and slightly affected our sleep. Those who mind this should consider carefully before choosing this hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel was lovely, conveniently located near the night market and restaurants, yet tucked away from the main road. The rooms were spacious, clean, and boasted comfortable beds. Breakfast offered a good selection of high-quality items. A welcome drink and fruit were provided upon arrival. The staff were very helpful, providing us with information about local attractions, and we easily rented a moped from the hotel for 180k. The pool area was pleasant, though mostly shaded. Some noise from the main garden area was audible through gaps in the doors, but the hotel was generally quiet, so it wasn't a significant issue.
GGuest UserIt's okay for the price~ I liked the balcony.
The bathroom and toilet are separate.
It's not completely clean, and you have to take that into account because it's an old building. The location is a bit far from the night market, but you can walk there, and I rented a scooter, so it wasn't difficult to get around.
GGuest UserDisappointing given this was trip.com recommended and had such a high rating. Receptionist barely spoke a word of English, didn't know we had a reservation, didn't know it was pre paid, had to call his boss on then phone to speak English to me to check us in. Room has coffee cups but no kettle, no coffee or tea. Under the cups was mould and dust. Old soap bar and toothbrush at the back of the sink. Asked for toilet paper and got told it was being ordered and would arrive the next day, next day we got nothing. Had to constantly ask for toilet paper and tissues. When we asked to change the towels we were handed a bundle of towels from the floor that were not even folded. The courtyard was messy with open Garbage bags around. The room was generally ok and the beds ok. The shower was good with plenty of very hot water. The lady receptionist and the man were both friendly and tried to help but basically had to call their boss on the phone to do absolutely anything and they were not really able to help with things. We asked about a possible late check out and were advised if we tipped the housekeeper we could stay until about 1:30 as the housekeeper goes home at 2pm and has about 12 rooms to clean that day. We checked out at the checl out time of 11:30 and the house keepers went straight to our room to clean it. Surely if the other 12 rooms all checked out at check out time they woul be cleaning those rooms? And how much do you tip? It was very ambiguous and they said they didn't want to end up charging us if we checked out late. It really seemed like - if you want to check out late then you need to pay our staff for staying longer, we would have been happy to pay an agreed amount but to leave a tip and not suggest an amount was not very clear.
It amazes me how this place gets such a good score. The location is good, there are nice restaurants nearby but the service is poor.
