Good location. Just a five minute walk from Itaewon station. Lots of eateries around. The hotel is situated on a hill so pushing your luggage up can be tiring. Room is small and there is not much space for a large luggage. Bathroom does not have separate wet and dry areas so after a shower the room will be wet. Fortunately it dries up very quickly and so was not an issue for us. We were disappointed with housekeeping as our room was not cleaned daily even though we requested for it. We even had to request for an additional towel daily as only one was given for a 2 person room. Breakfast is good with varieties.

Kumho Ryokan is one of the best accommodations i've been to over my many times travelling to seoul! 🥹 You can tell from the amenities provided and room layout that the stay is catered with women in mind!! The room and private bathroom was very clean and extremely comfortable 🤍 The location is amazing and very central - The train station is nearby, and the surrounding bus stops bring you to all the go to places in Seoul!
The bathroom towels feel clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and everything about the stay was great! Even the other residents living there were very helpful and nice! Special highlight to the female cleaner with glasses, who so kindly helped me carry my heavy luggage when i needed assistance due to a recent surgery that didnt allow me to carry heavy items. Highly recommend this place to all solo female travellers! Incredibly worth it for the price and will definitely be back the next time i come back solo 🤍 10/10

If you are wondering where to stay for a trip to Seoul, I highly recommend this place.
The location was great, making it convenient to get around Dongdaemun, Myeongdong, Euljiro, and Gwangjang Market. Above all, the atmosphere of the accommodation was wonderful.
It didn't feel like a typical business hotel with just a bed; instead, it had the vibe of a cozy home or a pretty Airbnb, with a natural Korean aesthetic that made it lovely. The table was large, so it was really convenient to order delivery food. There was a washing machine, a large refrigerator, and a microwave, so it would have been convenient to stay longer, but I only booked for one night, which was a real shame. I had a great time chatting with my friend, and it remains a memorable experience.
The room was spacious, and there was even a seating area to relax in.
The photos turned out great, and the atmosphere in the common areas was so nice that it really boosted my satisfaction with the trip. It is a place I would love to stay at again the next time I visit Seoul.

I booked a deluxe king room, which, according to the room type description, should have been on floors 8-19. However, when I checked in, the front desk assigned me a room on the 6th floor. Upon entering, I found the room to be quite ordinary. The bathtub and shower facilities were also poorly designed; even with a shower curtain, water would spray out, leaving a puddle on the floor. I later checked my booking and realized they had given me the wrong room type! That evening, I went to the front desk to discuss it. Initially, they insisted that room 601 was a large room and there was no difference, even claiming other rooms would be smaller... It was only after I insisted that they agreed to move me to a higher floor, 1301, the next day. As expected, the higher-floor room was noticeably newer. What a waste of money for the first night's room difference!

Everything was clean and comfortable. There is also water, coffee machine, washer and dryer and instant noodle machine on every level too. 10/10 would definitely come back here to stay, the staffs here also speak good English and are super helpful!

The room was quite clean, and having a small sofa in this compact space was a pleasant surprise. Toothbrushes and similar amenities are chargeable. The front desk staff can communicate in Chinese, and they also have a real-time translation device for verbal communication. It's not particularly close to the subway, but you can walk to Sinsa-dong, Apgujeong Rodeo Street, and various surrounding alleys – there's plenty to explore. If you turn left when you leave the hotel, there's a Paris Baguette, and at the intersection, there's a 24-hour Korean beef BBQ restaurant popular with locals. Nearby, there's a 7-Eleven and very local street-side BBQ joints, so food and drinks are very convenient. To get to Incheon Airport, you can catch the 6703 bus right in front of the Four Points by Sheraton, which is across from the hotel; they have the latest schedule there.

First off, the hotel service is great, especially the breakfast. There's a good variety, and the waiter is really enthusiastic and quite charming. The hygiene is just okay; I found a hair on the bed, and the bedding felt a bit old and worn. The duvet was also a little thin. The bathroom has a bathtub, which isn't very convenient; I think it would be better to remove it, though that might be too costly. The hotel's location is excellent, right near Dongdaemun, with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants nearby. The price isn't too high either, so overall, it's great value for money.

The room is good enough and new. Cleanness is satisfactory. Love the toilet design, new, clean and modern design. The shampoo and shower gel are collaborated with high end brand and smell amazing!!! The staff are so nice and helpful, the front desk helped me to phone call local resturant for time modification. Location is good, gwangjang market is within 10mins walk.
I will definitely stay again.

GGuest UserThis hotel's location is absolutely perfect! It's right by the Hongdae subway station, and downstairs you'll find Olive Young, Adidas, and Musinsa. It's truly in the heart of Hongdae, the 'universe center.' You can also tell it's popular with international guests because they provide universal power adapters, disposable slippers, and even a capsule coffee machine. Aside from the room and bed being a bit small, everything else was 100% perfect. I'm so satisfied!
GGuest UserTraveling during the May Day holiday, prices were inflated, and after comparing a few options, I felt Nine Tree offered the best value for money. I stayed for 4 nights and saved almost 2000 KRW compared to staying in Mapo, which I then used for taxis – a good deal.
The hotel is quite close to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. For other destinations, we took taxis. A taxi to Myeongdong was only about 10-odd thousand won, so taxis in Korea weren't as expensive as I imagined.
The surrounding area is very quiet, giving off a vibe of a developed place that's also peaceful. Jogyesa Temple is right across the street, and Insadong is nearby.
There were many foreigners staying here.
The service, facilities, and cleanliness were all good.
My only minor complaint was that the duvet cover felt a bit stiff and crinkled loudly. Also, the windows couldn't be opened, making the room feel a bit dry.
YYuenahezhujishiI've stayed at this hotel in Kyoto before and wanted to see if the Seoul branch had the same great environment, but there's a noticeable difference. The air conditioning was simply unacceptable; it was so hot! The AC system is clearly outdated and couldn't regulate the temperature. Even with outside temperatures at -5 degrees Celsius, I was sweating in a short-sleeved shirt and couldn't sleep. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day and quite mediocre. It's fine for a day or two if you're in a pinch, but having it every day at the hotel was a bit much for me. ☹️
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent. It's very close to Sinsa Subway Station, and if you stick to the main road, there's no steep hill like some photos online might suggest.
It's right next to Seoul Forest, and you can walk to Apgujeong in about 10-15 minutes. There's also a three-story Olive Young just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, which is super convenient! While the rooms aren't huge, the soundproofing is pretty good, and the shower water pressure is absolutely fantastic!
If you stay here, definitely make sure to check out the cafe on the top floor – the views are amazing. Overall, highly recommend. (Pics 1 & 2: Hotel rooftop cafe/bar. Pics 3 & 4: Views from the room)
GGuest UserMy stay at HOTEL BOTANIK's Deluxe King Room in Myeongdong exceeded my expectations. The room had a modern, apartment-style feel with brand new facilities and full amenities, making it ideal for those planning a longer stay in Seoul.
The in-room amenities were definitely the highlight. The air conditioning had a control panel for temperature adjustment, and it came equipped with an AirDresser, a washer-dryer combo, a separate fridge and freezer, an induction hob, and a microwave oven. Inside the cabinets, there was even a wine cooler, wine glasses, and mugs, giving it the feel of a small boutique apartment. Charging was also convenient, with both USB and Type-C outlets available, and the bidet toilet had a full range of functions. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation design, and the water pressure was consistent, making for a very comfortable shower.
However, there were a few things to note:
The kitchenware provided was quite basic, with only two plates, which might be insufficient if you plan to do a lot of cooking. Also, laundry detergent wasn't provided in the room, but you could purchase it at the front desk if needed.
There are several construction sites near the hotel, but surprisingly, the soundproofing was excellent during my stay, with no noticeable noise at night. My sleep quality was quite peaceful.
Overall, this hotel is more of a ”high-functional type” accommodation. The facilities are new and highly practical, feeling more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a traditional hotel. It made for a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserThe room was comfy and there was bidet available. The location was strategic, near convenience store and you can easily find restaurant, good coffee shop, and also access to MRT. There was washing machine in the room and you can buy the detergent at GS25 at the lobby area. The minus point was the space on the service area is narrow and you have to bring your luggage downstair and believe me It was really hard to bring big luggage from downstair because the stair space was also narrow.
MMattyFThe room is small and a little boring but you’re paying for the location, and it’s comfortable and clean. There’s a good beer bar, Seoulista, on the ground floor. There’s is an aerial walkway connected, which goes to Seoul Station. You can also use the metro Exit 7 (I think) but it will charge you just for walking through if you are coming from the AirPort Express. The breakfast arrangements are quite eccentric, but I had a good breakfast.
GGuest UserThe microwave in the lobby and the spacious room were great. There was plenty of space, so even with two of us, we didn't feel cramped with our luggage. The staff were super friendly and wonderful! We stayed for two nights with my friend and had a peaceful stay without any noise or issues.
ほほのりんI'm Japanese! I stayed here with my mother. The front entrance was straight ahead from Myeongdong Exit 5, on the right side. The bathroom had a shower and toilet together, but there was a shower curtain so no water splashed onto the toilet. The location was great and it was affordable, so I'd love to stay again!
GGuest UserClean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy.
